/x/, machu picchu.

fucking, why?

no mortar?

why was the site abandoned?

just wat
>>
>>17308626
I'm sure there must be documentaries on YouTube that can answer those questions.

Because of an ice age in South America

> no mortal?
Because they had the knowledge about resonance and was able to make stones light and gummy

imo
>>
>>17309622
> why abandoning?
after the ice age the population was growing
>>
i would disagree
i would say at the time of macchu picchu
all the humans were living in the ocean basins (pre-flood/deluge)
the ayys built an ape farm at the top of the toppest most niggerdly dangerous mountains
through the thickest niggardly jungle thicks
that we could never get to

I would say machu piccu is older than 20'000 years, maybe much much older. And the location was repopulated many times.
>>
>>17309637
Well, seeing as you say so, it must be.
>>
>>17308626
>fucking, why?
King's vacation home.
>no mortar?
Correct.

Or are you asking why? Because the answer to that is because the fault line the thing is built on would render mortar worse than useless.
>why was the site abandoned?
Because the Spanish set the king on fire. Ashes don't need a vacation home.
>>
>>17309704
This anon gets it. The only mystery is how they got those stones up there, and that's not even really a mystery. Slavery gets shit done.
>>
>>17309710
When you're at the top of a mountain there's a lot of rubble. The stones were already there.
>>
>>17309704
HOW are the stones so precise then? there was no way there could have carved them to fit perfectly like they do
>>
>>17309719
What are you trying to get at here?
>>
>>17309719
And what's stopping them from carving stones to fit together? You trying to say it was ayy lmaos?

Sure there is.

I dont get why people find it impressive, it's literally just a bunch of stairs. No surprise that everyone shilling Machu Pichu is usually some form of Cultural Marxist lol
>>
>>17309759
>Cultural Marxist lol
Completely irrelevant.
>>
>>17309757

I saw a documentary about this, years ago; they take the rocks, see how they need to fit together, and then (this is the clever bit) they bash them with harder rocks until they fit together the way that they want.

It's fucking amazing, is what that is.
>>
>>17309753
ya this.
one of the stone slabs at the site is allegedly 16 tons
>>
>>17309761
It's quite relevant. Anyone who thinks that Machu Pichu was some sort of accomplishment is either a shill or delusional.
>>
>>17308626
It was abandoned because of the flood
>>
>>17309637
Nothing on earth I'd older than, like 6000 years old. Or so.

Yes, we lost this ancient mystic technology over the last 500 years.

>>17309627

Don't be a fucking idiot.

Evidence suggests that Machu Pichu's construction was finished around the 1450's, it's doubtful that it's even 1000 years old, let alone twenty times that.

Can you not see the sanded away stone.
Tool Grind markings along the stone...
Do you guys not even try?
>>
>>17309757
They could manipulate objects with there chanting or instruments which produces the resonance to alter the state of objects, stones getting light and gummy. Ancient civilisations was much smarter then are today.

>>
>>17310728

>>
>>17310826
Do you even understand the words you are using?
>>
>>17310699
Here is what I would do to make it look like pic.

I would grind off some stone from the same stone material. Take that and grind it some more and add it to some form of clay. Then heat it up and polish it to the surface of the stone.
>>
>>17308626
Right now the general consensus, with some supporting evidence, is that very few people, if any, lived permanently at Machu Picchu. It was more likely a retreat, perhaps religious, probably upper class.

Now, as for the area. Peru is just a shitty place to life in that regard. Tectonic activity in the region is so off the charts what with volcanoes, earthquakes and such that to this day the locals engage in some pretty insane ritualistic behavior to try to keep the land around them from fucking them up. If you research, even now from time to time a building is torn down or excavated only to find the corpse or some hapless person killed and buried in the foundation to keep the building from being flattened.

So the likely culprit here is that the people that built Machu Picchu, but didn't regularly hang out there, finally decided to find some place less regularly lethal and, naturally, one of the first places to get abandoned was the remote resort it was a bitch and a half to visit anyway (at no point in its history has the hike to Machu Picchu ever been what most people would call 'fun'.)
>>
>>17310972
i dont think so...
apes(us) live on the beach and near the fish
ayys live in the mountains past the thickest niggerdly jungle

i trained mma, a lot of mma fighters train at high elevation to get really ripped b/c of low oxygen levels
whatever lived there would have been buff as shit. and not a small south american (who are asian/eskimo)

>>
>>17308626
>fucking, why?
Why not.
>no mortar
Apparently none.
>why was the site abandoned?
Spaniards decided to colonize south america thus endangering native american groups in the Americas.
>just wat
It's not that difficult to believe.
The only thing that's impressive about it is the height upon in which it was build.
People over different cultures have accomplished something similar with stones.
Not trying to downplay the accomplishment made by the Incas, just saying stuff like this can be found in other places.
>>
>>17311091
Oh, well, shit. Yeah, apparently it's not even a mystery why it was abandoned. "Europeans."
>>
Machu Picchu was supposed to be remote, It wasn't meant to be something enjoyed by all of Incan society and great effort was put into lining up it's construction with the rising and setting suns on equinoxes. It was likely abandoned because it became costly to keep resources flowing into Machu Picchu.

There is growing evidence that the pre-columbian's were very good at predicting earthquakes and a mortarless construction would have kept the site stable despite being on top of an unstable mountain. This is likely why the blocks are so tightly fitted, a mortarless construction actually grows tighter over time since the blocks can snugly pack themselves together over time.

well, mortarless construction is proven to work well in geologically unstable environments. Sociologically speaking, if a civilization can chart fucking starpaths then they likely had the minds available to the task of detecting geological instability or preventing devastation through advancements in archetecture. The Han dynasty in china had a seismoscope and that was 1000 years before Machu Picchu. It's not beyond my realm of belief that there were intelligent individuals within Incan society who would be capable of coming up with ways to analyze and respond to what would have been a fairly common natural disaster in their society, as far as natural disasters go.

Yeah because apes totally aren't a jungle species

Because human intelligence and bipedalism totally didn't originate in the African savannah due to adapting to deforestation
