>>17307984 >not understanding the difference between invincebility and immortality invincible creatures cant die from regular means (burning, bullets, drowning, knifes, mustard gass etc) but can die from old age.
immortal beings die if you stab them but cant die from old age.
perfect immortality implies a continuous existence not just in the future but also from the past. it implies existence which has been and always will be.
this perfect immortality is not achievable by finite beings. you as you know yourself at the moment is stuck in a body which will die in a given amount of time. your very sense of self is based on a finite experience. how can such a thing ever become immortal? it's nonsense.
true perfect immortality isn't something achieved. it is something to be realized. because if you believe that perfect immortality exists, then it must already exist within you, as you. so the only thing for you to do is to realize that within you which already cannot die, which has always existed and will always exist.
>>17309466 Maybe Christ existed or not, that is irrelevant. I have a problem with God being omnipotent (able to do anything) and omnisapient (all-knowing, including, but not limited to, God's own future). God can't do something he knows he won't do--the two attributes are mutually exclusive. You can't have both. So, God is one of those two, omnipotent or omnisapient. A God who is both cannot exist.
>>17307660 You have only to survive the next 30 years and you will have multiple options - upload your content of your brain into a computer and live virtually as a god in your own universe. - go into an cryogenic tank and have a lucid dream (vanilla sky) - transplant your brain into another body - upload your brain into another brain - take the wonder pill every day - inject nano robots which repairs your body constantly - become one with the universe and become an transcendent being (mind over matter) - get rid of your trashcan called mind and stay in the afterlife as a one god for eternity - accept that immortality in this plane of existence means eternal suffering (sooner or later) and be happy that your life will be over someday Enjoy your life because it can turn to sit in no time.
Adam and Eve were created immortal. God blew into Adam's nostril, the breath of life, the breath of God, and clay Adam became a living being. The Spirit of God lived inside Adam. That's what we're made for. We house the Spirit of God, and He gives us eternal life.
When Adam and Eve fell, and sinned, and rebelled against God, the Spirit of God left them. They were now sinners, spiritually dead, and physically dying.
Had they eaten of the fruit of the Tree of Life at that point, they would have been stuck in that damned state forever, irredeemable. Hence their exile, and the guardian set at the Tree of Life.
You are correct in saying that Jesus sets up the opportunity to eat of the Tree of Life, but those trees are not in Eden; they're on the New Jerusalem, the city with the streets of gold, 12 gates each of one pearl, etc. Only people redeemed by God can enter into that city, and the fruits of all of those trees are freely available (and change monthly).
What we are supposed to do is regain the Spirit of God that Adam and Eve lost, that is to say to be "born again" in the Spirit, from above, and from that state be transformed into new creations in Christ Jesus who can live face-to-face with God Himself. And from those transformed and glorified bodies, to eat freely from whatever trees you desire.
The Father guarded Adam and Eve from being immortally and eternally lost, and provided to them a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
>>17311593 God is kinda stupid for an all-knowing thing. There was that time He killed all humans but a few to eliminate sin. It didn't work, but hey, at least we got rainbows. Then he sent his own son for sacrifice, it also didn't work very well.
According to gnostic facts and their broscience, you have to not spill semen... u can have sex, but not ejaculate, not even drop it via ''wet dream'', according to them you have the internal capacity of using the dna of your nuts to refresh yourself up, kind of stem cells but on an internal level, you either chose to multiply yourself and die or not die but getting limited to only yourself.
>>17310342 yep I never say it was fun to pe immortal >>17311426 I have read a book about this paradox, a old jewish book about kabbalist the explanation was really good >>17311458 god is not a being it's a principle
>>17311943 Maybe you are talking, apologies for the scifi-ish terms, about God existing out of our space-time continuum and he being able to see our whole universe from beginning to end, in time and space.
So, God can intervene on our universe and know our future. But to see the results, our universe "runs" its course. So, God sees something he doesn't like, then he does his act, and the result appears.
Demons and God are in a constant battle, everchanging the universe. Notice some interesting things here. Before God interferes, the whole thing plays out. So, here we have all the interesting features of time travel - next time God will kill a butterfly that was bugging him and there will be other persons here in 2016 - but they will be other persons, because this intervention will make everyone living today disappear, so to say. But they will have existed once. Isn't God fun?
>>17312060 I am open to communication for your own sake and none other. I think that it is good for people to reason over these things together and work together. Stay away from the kaballah, repent of your contempt and be at peace with others
>>17312076 This is deception, the only way of eternal life is the way that God ordained, yes, through Jesus. Believe it or not life is a great puzzle and it is akin to survival of the fittest spiritually before the God of Heaven and Earth
>>17312075 why I have to stay away from kaballah? I find this really interesting to learn about god they say that 5 universe exist and in the alien race book (first pdf on google) at the end some extract with alien appears and one said : 5 universe, 2500 species, 1 race
Ahura Mazda told me Jesus is a greek construct telling an astrological story coopted by Saul from Tarsus. Jesus is not even the name of the person. Yehshuah. Unless you're saying to me to worship God's Sun, at least you could be thruthful about it. Look up Zoroaster. Look up Mithra. And God's people said Ammon.
>>17307660 The ancients knew that mercury is the key to immortality, modern scientists say it's toxic but they're just doing what they're told by the cabal of immortals who rule the world and don't want to share. I've been drinking mercury for over twenty years and in that time I haven't aged a day.
>>17307981 >sacrificing babies >meditating Yeah I can see how doing so little wont make you immortal. Like saying you wont get fit by doing 1 pushup a week. It's a shame all those fleshgait stories are just rp shams. They were on my list of creatures to ask for immortality.
>>17311508 All the options of uploading give me the soma problem though. Not op here, there's no way for me to 100% im taking over the immortal conscious instead of being left to die in my mortal body?
>>17312594 Nice ad hominem. Girls are so used to sycophants agreeing with them that they can't make real arguments. These same sycophants are also why they can't into self actualization, they're constantly surrounded by thirsty betas telling them how perfect they are.
hmm as far as i know you have to take care of a few key elements:
glycation which is where proteins and sugars cross link and age the fucking shit out of you. wrinkles inside and out. hardened arteries. google it! you must avoid sugar as much as possible and take l-carnosine, r-lipolic acid and glutothione to reverse/prevent glycation.
look up AGEs and high heat food. see why raw diets are good.
oxidation/free radicals. take as much antioxidants as often as possible
fasting seems to be the best thing you can do to slow your metabolism. i think keeping a super slow metabolism is the key to living longer.. it helps prevent cancer and it also is a way to control the hayflick limit
i haven't figured out how to control my hormones 100% yet but i know that has something to do with it.
>>17312260 Done and done! >>17312622 oh shush don't say such silly buzzwords
you can't be yourself if you are worried about things like that
>>17312631 what about the theory where the consciousness or will is the "observation" of the mental quantum event; like in plant photosynthesis the photon unobserved goes through every possible channel, and observed the path of least resistance? as associations are formed, the brain gets more and more "paths of least resistance" reactions to stimuli.. which is why when faced with a quesiton you have been asked before you already know the answer, but when it's something you haven't been asked, often it is the best answer that pops in first, other times you have to generate a path to the path of least resistance.
how do you know an answer is right through reason? I don't know, just throwing things out there
but this quantum theory, as you all probably know, has many theoretical implications, I'm not sure how many of them I believe
philosophically, it's impossible for me to imagine nonexistence, which leads me to see the world as duality; kind of "we are insignificant dust in the wind" vs "we are gods" or "we are nothing" :we are everything"
why not both? all perspective anyway right
here, have a ghost in the machine signing a contract with the devil. Love these symbolisms

Or was ever that forgotten?
>>17312834 that being said, I am currently developing a religion. Why? because in our societies, religion is a necesity. Although many people are "atheist", they still maintian many modes of thinking which would be classified as "spiritual" although it is currently fashionable to not be part of an organized religion (or at least not a western one)
that being said, religion plays important roles. Religion is a system that utilizes the animal mind of individuals (paranoia, faith) to build better societies, and to relieve the anxiety in individuals
Many people who were never religious become religious in times of great strife. I believe that religion, in it's purest form, is anti greed, the act of suppressing dopamine reward pathways and promoting seratonin pathways, which are creative in nature. Logic is of course a dopamine channel and must be maintained, but principles will always have a higher order than logic
religions enjoy many benefits in societies. They are the end-all justification for many things (even not paying taxes)
>>17312881 >the first step to knowledge is completely understanding that you know nothing. Meaningless sophistry. Knowledge is a grade above philosophy and can't be touched by your pathetic attempt at wording.
>>17312873 what is atheist? it's only a bunch of people telling everyone they don't believe in any god, and if they say they are spiritual we are talking about the basic of gnosticism : Gnosticism says that humans are divine souls trapped in the ordinary physical (or material) world.
>>17307694 Thats just the soul. He wants to be in the same body forever. Not reborn forever. There was a show awhile ago that talked about the limitations our body has. For instance our brain has limited memory so wed have to expand our memory digitally. And if we loose a limb we might be able to regrow it (i dont remember the technology used for this) I think adam savage was the narrator.
>>17312892 sophistry: the use of fallacious arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving.
see, what you are saying is sophistry. What I am saying is true. how tall, exactly, is a blade of grass in the 4th house south of mainstreet in shanghai? don't know? how much knowledge is there that you don't know? you know nothing compared to what there is to know.
but instead, you want to argue about forms. As if true knowledge exists, as if forms exist, as if there is a truth, as if knowing the truth gives you power. Knowing false things gives you power too,if those false things give you power. What is knowledge then? You have no idea about anything. Prove to me that anything other than your mind exists. you can't. You can only make ad hominems.
>>17312938 yes.. but those are definitions of modes of thought, religions are institutions based around spirituality. Mostly I want to start a religion for the social and economic benefits. I don;t think you could in good faith (har har) create a religion today jthat didn't call for complete spiritual freedom, because too many people would feel kept down by it. You could, however, outline reasoning for certain aspects of that religion/ tradition.
>>17312964 Don't they though? >>17312967 >the use of fallacious arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving. Seems so. >how much knowledge is there that you don't know? None. But then, information is not knowledge. >create a religion today Sounds like every cult throughout history, with a hint of failure to understand how commonplace the modern era is. >>17312975 >their potentials and their wills What is one without the other?
>>17313015 potential and will can;t exist without eachother, but that doesn't mean they are the same. Will makes potential, that is free will,
plus what is any one thing without any one other thing? it's all connected anyway psh
information is not knowledge, but assuming that you can glean any meaningful fraction of knowledge is a naive way to further your ego's platform of understanding itself
I'm sure many people here have at some point in their life had the dilemma of "would I rather be one of those ignorant happy people, or know everyhting and be depressed
well, what if thinking you can know everything is the ignorance, and knowing that you are ignorant of everyhing, the knowledge?
this is not sophistry, by the way, although there are many people who argue that the style of language I am using is meaningless. What I was doing is called a rhetorical reversal. It's not necessarily an argument, it doesn;t have a premise and reasoning, so attaching a logical fallacy to it is pretty wrong.
and saying that there is no knowledge that you don;t know means that you are already doing what I said to do, which is completely subjective reality, and form that a movement to strengthen the will
because if you used the dictionary definiton of knowledge, you would know there is infinite knowledge you don;t know, but instead you are re interpreting it (the superior way of doing things and what language was amde for) but this is exactly the opposite of what you were arguing for earlier, when you said that people shouldnt imagine what they can be and then be that. The first thing I responded to.
>>17307660 Just survive the next 30-50 years. Eventually we will be able to treat diseases and injuries on a molecular level, which would make us technically immortal.
>>17312952 Do you remember the face of your first friend in kindergarten? Memories you don't need/use disappear overtime, if you live long enough you will forget more and more things you don't "need". This might include the faces of your parents, your childhood, first love etc etc
>>17312967 you can create a religion in quebec some dumb ass create the flying spaghetti monster ( http://sainteglisedumonstreenspaghettivolant.blogspot.ca/ ) the creation : Given the extreme improbability that molecules that life will be made by themselves with time , it is much more reasonable to believe that life was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
>>17307660 Flesh comes from the organic, and as such cannot be continued indefinately and infinately. There are ways to extend The Flesh, however there will be a point where those resources also run out, and then, as all Flesh things do, Death will come.
As per the "You" within The Flesh, it really depends on your beliefs, and how much faith you hold in them.
If you believe the "You" within Flesh is bound and originate from Flesh, then you must seek a new vessel made not from Flesh to house "You." However, how long will "You" live in that new form, and do you have enough to live infinitely?
If you believe that "You" is a fraction slice of The Universe, then "You" are already immortal in a sense. That Identity of You isn't, but the "You" that holds that Identity is.
If you believe in The Maker, the same is applicable, however if you tend to The Maker's doctrines, The Identity, and the most likely subject of your initial question, will live on. If you do not, The Identity is purged however the "You" is preserved. The only way the "You" is not kept, is if the weight of action is known across all wavelengths, and yet it is still committed regardless. (You know how killing a person will effect their family, friends, general circle, society, past future present, what possibilities would occur, etc. and you still do it) However, The Maker is kind enough to give the assumption that no Flesh truly knows that weight.
I have to go to sleep, since I have adult responsibilities I have to acknowledge at 6 am. I have obivously schooled all of you fools (except for Fairy Queen; you;re lovely and your pussy doesn;t stink)
so later, losers, I'll see you when you're all worshipping me at the helm of my death cult
"You" is found within the complex systems of nerves within your Flesh, however this is organic Flesh.
To gain immortality with the belief that "You" is bound by flesh would be to strip the other parts of Flesh, and bind that system of complex nerves within a new vessel. We see this in examples of Science Fiction of "The Brain in a Jar" and "The Robot with a Human Brain".
If you believe the second belief, then "You" is still located within that complex system of nerves, however it is not bound or created from them. It is something that simply happens, and as such, upon the release of Flesh will return from to its Origin. The memories, the names, the faces, the lives will be gone forever with The Flesh, however, the core "You" will return to the endless sea from once it was. From Dust, Unto Dust, From the stars you were crafted and to the stars ye shall return. This is a state of "Ego Death, Unconscious Immortality"
If you believe in the third, beliefs in the second still hold true, however; it is because the Will of a Higher Being that you were crafted from. In that lifetime that was granted, you held faithful to that Being, the memories, the identity, the faces and the lives live on in a core state of being. Ego and Conscious Immortality. If not, that is erased, however through kind graces your core is still kept, virgin and pure, like a newborn. Ego Death, Conscious Immortality.
For a cop out answer, if you REALLY want to be sure your Identity and the Idea of You lives on, then mate and create a monolith unto the stars, so that all may remember you, even those who have no means of concept of what you were.
>>17313190 There are several memory exercises one can use to improve their recall. For dreams, one can keep a dream journal. For waking life, run through your day before you fall asleep. For thing that are lost to your past, reminisce. Few can sit down to write a memoir and instantly recall everything they need to write. Like all abilities, recall improves with use and practice. You may be surprised by how well your memory works once you devote any time to it.
>>17313150 >There may be a way to get them back Yeah images and stories will usually refresh memories, however this is usually limited to 'strong memories'(stuff that mattered to you one way or another).
okay OP Ill tell you the secret since Im just a bucket with a hole these days that seems to be spilling out of my closet
>build rocketship capable of light speed or at least sub light speed >blast off from earth >once acceleration has has reached the speed of light >you have >effectivly >broken through time >you are now immortal in the eyes of everyone else >you can never return to earth >the down side, you live out the rest of your life in one moment >forever >until you die >from your subjective expierence
Murder someone famous, or a bunch of nobodies. Make a game of it with the authorities & media, spread the killings out across the entire country, and when you get bored, let yourself get caught, have "TRIAL OF THE CENTURY", and =BOOM= immortality.
What if I am immortal? But I just don't realize it? And I will never die from the normally prescribed means? But everybody else still can? And I will never be able to realize that I'm immortal because at my advanced (100+ aka past normal lifespan) stage of life my brain will revert to a state with no long term memory and literally only able to operate completely in the present moment? With every new moment seeming different even if it's not, like a newborn baby? And I will live until the last human dies? After which I will either die of starvation or, if I can still provide for myself, get destroyed by the aftereffects of global warming or the Sun becoming a Red Giant or some other earth ending apocalypse?
Dude holy fuck what if I'm the only being in the universe who's objectively real? And nothing else is actually sentient in a way thats concrete or independent of the way the chemicals in my brain cause me to perceivw my environment? What is real? FUCK
>>17312938 Atheism is foolishness and it is also propaganda. It is the actual opiate of the masses because the gods of this world can actually manipulate our ability to reason and what is and what is not real to us. Do not be deceived the atheist agenda is being pushed all over the web and the real man at the top is lucifer
>>17312575 Well that is dependent on who into yourself you are. Because yes, the digital version of 'you' will be a copy. Your current stream of consciousness in your flesh body will end, but to the digital copy it will feel like he has been around since your birth. Your family and friends get to experience time spent with him, potentially forever and ever... but YOU are gone.
You can achieve longevity, but even then it is simply a delay of the inevitable. In order to grow, to learn, to take in and develop, you need to age. Maybe you can slow the process of how much you age, keeping your functions moving forward but at a steadier pace, but death is an inevitability.
Even so, you were never truly alive in the sense that you thought, and you don't die in such a sense either. You're just stardust in the form of a degrading computer, you were never anything but, and when you die you won't "change" or pass on anywhere. You're just as much dust now as you were before and you will be when you die, simply in the formation of a circuit that simulates the effect we call "consciousness".
You only fear death because you were deluded into thinking that life was a special phenomena, because part of your genetic code pushes you to survive. Overcome this, peace in death is a far more fetching prize than a static existence.
>>17314720 Alright, I am going to assume that you are your own biggest fan because you live a life of denial fuelled by the cheap thrill you get from role playing. I think even the delusional folks on /x/ understand that 99.9% of the posts here are nothing but dipshits circle jerking over tarot cards and tulpa fantasies. You are not the powerful entity you wish you were, so save some face.
>>17314223 I advise and give options at the same time, the burden of choice comes down to the individual. That is my role and my rule when it comes to this duty, set by a force unknown to me, that I cannot usurp.
You may call me a tempter for having multiple doors, however, A dim soul is a dull soul, weak and untempered, it must be stricken strengthened, and ultimately tested to see where Man's heart is laid.
I put the answer very clearly in the second portion of my answer, however I leave the option up to you to decide, because I cannot force or choose a path for you.
So, am I full of the Spirit of God when I say this? No.
Because I am not leading people down that road, nor any road. I am merely giving advice, for those who would believe in such, while at the same time testing their faith's resolve. I am not doing God's work in this, but rather developing a hurdle that isn't as black and white as a "Jump to test your faith", for the sake of betterment to those who would wander carelessly into my obstacle.
Tl:Dr. No, in this instance, I am playing Devil's Advocate.
