looking for some camping / hiking stores but anything goes
i personally thing in the woods is better but i always see innawoods so whatever
Skinwalker / Dogman encounters are spoopy in a woods stories.
I don't know when I was 15 I went deep like super deep in the California redwoods like by car it was 8 hours to the closet town. Our group slept out on top of soft rocks by a dry river but I have this memory that UFO's landed and everyone was abducted. The most clear memory I have of this is waking up at 2AM and hearing a loud sound and opening my eyes and not being able to do anything. I don't remember the dreams or anything its just a really foggy thought but it feels like it happened. I remember the day it happened and I feel like I talked about it with the group and we all agreed it happened but that memory feels like its gone and foggy too.
I'll go ahead and cross post my thing from the weird memories thread in here since it's topical;
I have incredibly lucid memories of seeing a tree stand up and turn around when I was a kid riding my bike down a trail in the woods in rural central illinois
it didn't look like any of the other trees at all, it didn't have leaves, and it really didn't even have limbs either I mean, really looking back on it the only thing that really even made it look like a tree at all was the pose it was in and the skin definitely being a greyish bark
it didn't seem to see me or anything and it moved super slow, it was almost like it was kneeling and then stood up proper to just turn a little bit and then squat back down, but that was enough for like 10 year old me to fuck off back to the barn and never go back down that trail again since
I went solo camping in FL at pic related, the St. Sebastian river preserve. I briefly lived in Florida for about 4 months and I had a lot of time on my hands since I didn't have a job, so I spent a lot of my time hiking here. The one time I went camping, I was at the northeast preserve yellow trail campground. The hike from parking wasn't too far, only about 2 miles. The weather was cloudy but there was no humidity as I was camping in January. When I arrived, I set up my campsite and as soon as I finished, it started to pour. It was shitty luck because the weather had been nice until that point. It rained for about 3 hours nonstop and I had nothing better to do except read and drink whiskey. Before the sun set, I was able to make some food and eat. Nothing at this point was out of the ordinary until I had drank about 6 shots and I was starting to feel pretty good. The weather took a turn for the worse and started raining again with thunder and lightning. I started hearing footsteps and the brush move around the campground. My tent had a tarp on it but at the bottom had vents that you could see through. I swear that when lightning lit up the area, I saw someone moving through the bushes. I decided to grab my sidearm and keep it loaded next to me, in case whatever it was got any ideas. I heard brush moving all night and didn't sleep at all, but didn't see anything. I'd say it was about 2am when I started dosing off. I was awakened a few moments later by an awful smell and movement outside my tent. I grabbed my gun and flashed my light directly in front of my tent when something darted directly behind the tent. I fired a shot into the air and the silence afterwards was frightening. I stayed up the rest of the night but didn't see or hear anything else. As soon as the sun came up, I packed all my gear even though it was still raining. I hurried back to my car and drove the fuck out of there. I never went back after that.
I live in the woods and mountains, and I go out into them at least once a week.
Never seen shit other than critters that are known to be here.
I think people just let the moment get to them, and they get scared and then run with the anxiety.
Does anybody have the screenshots of the story Anon posted about weird tall critters in a mineshaft out in New Mexico or something? There was a cabin in the story that was well-maintained, and a log in the road to keep people from entering the area.
There was also a story describing the same creatures posted by another anon.
Literally prefer to camp by myself and do I frequently. Just don't be fucking stupid dude. Don't go down mineshafts or explore remote abandoned buildings by yourself. Sometimes they aren't abandoned, but the owners want them to seem that way. Then they shoot you and flay you and rape your lifeless body and you can never shitpost again. Just camp safe if you do it solo, ffs.
looks like a goatman figure kinda drifting through the woods
>the shoe-stealing foxes do really exist
> it's not a hiker legend
> if your food isn't accessible they would steal your shoes
> they probably like the smell
> they have no fear
> they come when you sleep
I actually saw something very similar to this a couple years ago, but it was not human-shaped and much closer to the ground. My mom and I saw it while driving at night. We talk about it on occasion, but we've never been able to figure out what it was.
coincidentally I actually was scared of stick bugs around that time
If you knew what a skinwalker really was you'd know you're not going to have a chance to fire a gun on it. They're too fast, and guns won't even work on them. This shit ain't the movies, kiddo.
Oh my god...Okay...okay...This is really fucking weird because i can actually relate to it. Not personally, but a story that my dad told me that really spooked me out had some of the same circumstances...I think what this guy encountered is the same as what my dad and uncles did. You guys want the story? I'll have to type it out off of memory of the story so it might be kind shotty but it's some OC
>hiking at 9 pm at Griffith park
>going back down path by Greek theater
>a fucking guy is literally laying on the floor in the path
>this fucker jumps up and suddenly floats off
>I ran back down fast
I haven't been gone hiking there at night ever since
this sounds awesome how have i never heard of it
i don't think
your welcome new person
the decent, the breed, monster 2003, primal 2010
idea would love to know
>leading people through wilderness
>get attacked by bear, slashed to bits
>buried alive and left for dead after i see my son murdered
>come back to the world of the living seeking revenge
Never going camping again, bros.
Classic fake image. The alleged spooky or supernatural image is just out of focus. The image is framed to include the image as if the shot was pre planned. And the spooky creature is always obscured by something, in this case trees and fog.
Are you kidding me it's a trail of smoke that got split in between two trees to look like legs. I bet there's a cabin of some sort just beyond those trees. Chimneys are not spooky.
> goes onto /x/
> can't sit through a fucking gif
Not sure if this counts but I found this on my property this afternoon.
I think its probably fake seeing how red the 'blood' is, but seeing how my next-door neighbor is a 10 minute drive away its freaks me the fuck out. Looks fresh though which creeps me out the most.
I really have to spell everything out for you schizos. Smoke and photoshop to hide the dissipation of the smoke.
No its not. It takes about 6 hours to go from sacramento to LA, 3.5 hours from sf to tahoe.
Theres a lot of forest here but not a single place like that anon was talking about.
>lived in ca my whole life
someone photoshopped a fake alien from an old photo
sorry, is in spanish, but the video works even without the voiceover
have you guys noticed that almost every skinwalker story includes the repetition of something said, coin-like smell and weird copycats of someone?
also, I thought skinwalkers were exclusively in the states (navajos n shit)
Well of course you fucking mong, all the stories are fiction and share the same creature, thus the coin smell.
When it comes to skinwalkers in other places than the states, most cultures have some form of shapeshifter legends. And besides, the /x/ skinwalkers hardly have anything to do with the navajo skinwalkers, it's more so a hybridization of wendigos, skinwalkers and things like the rake, another /x/ spoop.
The fact you are so knowledgeable about reddit speak is proof you are the one who needs to go back. Stop shitposting and contribute to the thread.
Yeah, doesn't constitute sounding like a fucking idiot. Is "innawoods" a word, a phrase or..fucking anything really? Just a bunch of faggot wordplay, and the fact that you are defending it makes you fucking stupid by default.
Pre-tulpa /x/ was fantastic. Quite a few more nope threads, SCP themed stuff, lovecraft, and people bothered to try and prove things rather than assume it's real. A lot more internet mysteries sort of stuff too, rather than straight up paranormal.
After tulpas it all turned in to roleplaying as wizards and demons and trying to do magic and general faggotry.
I actually learned a lot about Navajo type witchery from some old guys out in AZ.
Trusting the internet on this stuff is like trusting Gawker to tell you the truth about something on 4chan. You might get something vaguely close totally robbed of context and over-generalized.
Also, yes, /x/skinwalkers are this weird hybrid of spoop. There are spooky old things in the woods, but an actual skinwalker still is a human being most of the time, and adopts other forms for purposes of
but overall, fairly chill if you aren't fucking with them.
It takes 24 hours to go from San Diego to the Oregon border.
Only problem is due to the population distribution and geography of California you are never more than 4 hours from the nearest town by car.
>6 hours walking, shitbreath?
Not him, but the original post said
>like by car it was 8 hours to the closet town.
Just kill yourself, you helmet wearing, window licking horse fucker.
Look at your fucking quote. The original post said 8 hours to the closet town.
His rebuttal did nothing to prove how far Closet Town is from the middle of the redwoods
