to further add old testament reference the ancient israelites before entering battle had a battle horn. the biblical story of when the walls of Jericho fall this is the horn used.

the actual horn is made of a rams literal horn. the musical sound draws some comparision in my mind to the phenomena as well as the ancient and primitve sound of the wind passing from one end to the other.
