cicada 3301 is most likely just a gang of CSIII wiz kids who went to good colleges and read too many comic books and sci fi as kids and now want to create another circle jerk think tank.
Either that or it's all put together simply to confound the internet and the puzzles lead nowhere.
nothing to be scared of--it's just a puzzle. People from /x/ like to associate it with demons and fairy tales, but it's mainly computer programming, security information, literature, classical music, etc.
This post is most likely just from a nobody who never did anything substancialy and now wants to convince others that he has anything of value to add to anything in this world.
Either that or it was posted simply to.. ah who am I fooling. Get out.
why have you been going around spreading disinfo abut PGP the last few days? I've seen you in like 5 or 6 threads saying the same thing: "PGP IS DEAD!", "PGP IS FOR NERDS!", and so on. Are you deliberately being thick?
wow, someone's touchy. I'm sorry I said mean things about your super secret club little boy.
Can't make it stop, can't make it stop, can't make it stop, can't make it stop, can't make it stop, can't make it stop, can't make it stop
Technically neither of those shadows on the wall are true. They are metaphors or concepts in the Nietzchen-sense, of an unconveyable truth/image.
There is only one truth/reality, and we will never see it unless we all take psychedelics and cease to live in the world of constructs.
AH YEAH. YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE. YOU'RE ON THE BACK OF THE WORM.
Ok fine ! maybe they do not use PG anymore. Let's say they were compromised. Only way that can happen is if NSA is targeting servers. Maybe so. I subbed their bitmessage, and if this does turn out to be real, i will apologize,
In addition to being the name of an album, I've heard of this before, thanks to my cringeworthy obsession with VSauce.
"Lighght" is thought to be the shortest poem ever written, sort of. There was another mentioned in which some dude wrote the letter I with his fingerprint instead of a dot. That's not relevant though.
Maybe it has something to do with poetry, or prose of some sort? Any good limericks about cicadas?
Here's the obligatory picture with the contrast settings and brightness settings on max
no. lol I actually think the 3301 puzzles are kinda fun, the wordplay is cute. I'm not out here claiming that I have anything to contribute to solving the code puzzles and all that, but honestly their whole brand is kinda ridiculous imo.
And if you have a more realistic explanation as to what they actually are let's hear it sport.
Oh, my mistake, my brain misread it, it actually is LIGHGHT
fucking right! their image is silly and pretentious af but that adds to the entertainment factor.
They're like what it would be like if Jaden Smith was a highly intelligent self aware ARG.
What about these bitmessages?
lol get some aloe vera cream for the butthurt buddy.
i think pgp keys are pretty good tho
Even more found in source
End of file in the image on the website:
There's music in the sighing of a reed;
There's music in the gushing of a rill;
There's music in all things, if men had ears;
Their earth is but an echo of the spheres.
It's Don Juan by lord Byron.
If someone knows the original name of the song you can use phase inversion to remove the song completley and leave any hidden notation or sounds
there seems to be some cryptic shit at the end of the mp4 file
not sure if normal in mp4 files but looks different from the rest of the file
"PGP is dead" is a bullshit meme. Unless people post evidence together with their claim, don't listen to them. They're shouting this stuff because of a mix of vague paranoia and magical thinking in regards to cryptography. It might be easy to chose the fatalistic option and believe PGP is broken, but if you research a bit, you'll find that it's just hot air.
it's the uneducated individuals trying to delude the 3301 puzzles in order to feel involved. PGP has a mathematical basis (cryptography). Even with a super computer, it would take you thousands of years to crack an encrypted file. Anything legitimate will have an official PGP attached to it. That's what we're looking for now in these new clues. Nothing has contained a key thus far--leaving us to believe it's fake.
4 monuments surround the old hippodrome's site in ahmet park
3 are obelisks 1 is a hexagonal mausoleum
Serpent/dragon obelisk is taken from temple of apollo. Apollo slayed dragon cleaving heavens from earth. Think oracle of delphi. Inner light.
Walled obelisk is ruined. Built by constantine VII to commemorate gramps Basil I victories. Need more research.
Obelisk of Thutmose III taken from temple of karnak in luxor egypt. Read closely about pharoahs renewal festival here. Erected by theodisius I, 69th roman emperor, think schisms, rome falls after the 69th. Interesting poem inscribed:
Though formerly I opposed resistance, I was ordered to obey the serene masters and to carry their palm, once the tyrants had been overcome. All things yield to Theodosius and to his everlasting descendants. This is true of me too – I was mastered and overcome in three times ten days and raised towards the upper air, undergovernorProculus.
Lastly, German Fountain. A gift from kaiser Wilhelm II to sultan hamid. Poems within, need to find.
Misc: obstigillate is made up. By roots it means "oppose restriction"
Obstruct injustice, obstruction creates darkness. Obelisks? Use the darkness as guide. Think expansion, the expanse expands
yes. otherwise it would be too easy to emulate a similar website and distract people---or worse yet---rip them off in some way. For example, the 33014048.co.nf (or 40483301.co.nf i forget the URL off the top of my head)re-routed followers to a bitcoin related transaction. This is such an obvious ploy to scam someone out of their money. For example, if there's a 3301.com/omgitsus with a PGP and I were to come along as a scammer and make 3301.com/omgltsus (using a lowercase l instead of an i on the word 'its') without a PGP key, I can stray people away from the original URL path and manipulate them in certain ways. This is what the 33014048.co.nf guy tried to do but was outed with his lack of PGP key---which he later added to the website in order to legitimize it.
it's the #1 rule as stated by the 3301 organization themselves. Sure, you can find interesting puzzles from stuff that has no PGP key--but it's not legitimate. As long as you're aware that you're not working on 'official' material, it's no biggie. But if you start getting prompted to play around with bitcoins and the like, avoid it like the plague.
Hey yeah and if you take CAD out you're left with cia
SPOOPS FOR DAYS
With a sufficiently powerful quantum computer it might be possible though (see Shor's algorithm). Quantum computing reminds me of AI though, lots of hype and not much tangible. I'd take it all with a grain of salt. On that note, djb held a pretty good talk about Post-quantum cryptography at the 32c3, it was very interesting, and free of the usual quantum-computing bullshit.
BM-2cW5qm7K6R8xhoFXuk9ifNARQfeKNFTNQ9 and BM-2cUaQDUHhziLTkzisFXBPA7qfSeDY11Fh3 from http://pastebin.com/Za36zDAu could be potential address used with the communication protocol Bitmessage (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitmessage). Someone want to validate my claim?
PGP is owned by a private company with private interests and private servers and private code.
Has anyone not seen the injection,of not only code in 'secured' communications this past year, as well as the amount of laws passed that allow govt to access any records they choose?
Anyone who believes PGP is worth a damn is completely irresponsible, and I would never trust you with any sensitive information.
Checked out the Bitmessage protocol myself. BM-2cW5qm7K6R8xhoFXuk9ifNARQfeKNFTNQ9 is an invalid address, whereas BM-2cVPdVd6GkYZmLJm3uyAzbW1a5CaCFarp6 is valid.
I tried sending a message with LIGHGHT to the valid address, which has been sent and is waiting for acknowledgement. I expected 3301 to have these messages checked automatically by some running process, so I think the message probably wasn't the correct one.
Any message being sent has to go through a server right Einstein?
And do not get me started on Governmental overreach. PGP is fine if you do not find snooping. I laugh when I see uneducated people who bow down to PGP like its the end all be all.
>Bitmessage has gained a reputation for being out of reach of warrantless wiretapping conducted by the National Security Agency (NSA) due to the decentralized nature of the protocol, and its encryption being difficult to crack. As a result, downloads of the Bitmessage program increased fivefold during June 2013 after news broke of classified email surveillance activities conducted by the NSA.
Read the wiki site, it has some decent info there.
Is it me or has pi been a heavily referenced theme by Cicada? Every clue that i've seen and investigated so far has had a reference to it in some way, even going as far as a countdown to Pi day. Has anyone found out its significance to cicada yet?
EXTRACT YOURSELF FROM THE CONFINES OF YOUR COCOON, AND EMERGE, F
ALL AWAKE. OBSTRUCT INJUSTICE
Notice the break between the F and the ALL, that coudn't have been anything other than intentional, but why?
An interesting thing about pi is first of all that it goes on forever, and therefore you should be able to find any number in it.
Just a thought: at what position does the prime '3301' first appear when calculating pi?
It means that we need to rise up and usher in the age of the overman.
The song of clashing steel is our destiny.
The string 3301 occurs at position 11430. This string occurs 19952 times in the first 200M digits of Pi.
counting from the first digit after the decimal point. The 3. is not counted.
The string and surrounding digits:

JUST coming back to check on you this thread and I noticed another message came through on the BitMessage 3301 Chan... I haven't tried sending any messages yet haha part of me is a bit too scared to get a reply back haha
BUT!! I did get a new message pop up... screen shot attached. (first message you see was from earlier that was the GPS coordinates that were sent out)
I checked out the link in the video... another awesome video :-D
I didn't send any message! Should I? I just subscribed to their channels/addresses... the address that was in the one of the clues sent those messages to the general 3301 CHAN...
Picture of runes that was in the video.
Also are there anyone that know which song is used in the video?
>PGP is owned by a private company with private interests and private servers and private code.
That's just "PGP", the program. Everyone talking about PGP normally means the OpenPGP standard, which has lots of open source implementations.
>Has anyone not seen the injection,of not only code in 'secured' communications this past year
Can you even name the protocols affected? The specific exploits?
> as well as the amount of laws passed that allow govt to access any records they choose?
That's literally an everlasting struggle. That's why encryption software is of so much importance.
>Anyone who believes PGP is worth a damn is completely irresponsible, and I would never trust you with any sensitive information.
Well, and you couldn't code your way out of a paper bag I say.
I think you're trolling. MITM is one of the scenarios public/private cryptography explicitly protects you from.
it's not that he's uneducated. he doesn't even believe any of this nonsense. he's the guy posting this stuff trying to trick everyone into believing his puzzles are legit. every single time.
then the world laughs their assess off at him each year when he's publicly proven wrong.
Ok so i got the translation, the runes are from the nordic alphabet. the translation is thus:
Seek the kej the message r in the wibrati seek with jour ears not jour ejes under the burned temple lies one klue.
I remember reading something in a DMT thread here, on /x/ just an hour ago... I'll quote:
>Both. The universe is a hologram. A part of a hologram always contains the whole picture. That means that theoretically just one brain contains the entire universe. Just like every cell of your body contains your DNA.
Now that I think about it, your words make perfect sense:
>it goes on forever, and therefore you should be able to find any number in it.
Add in the fact that literally everything in existance, from the smallest known to us particles, to the largest known to us objects and clusters of objects in the universe are bound to circles/cycles/sinusoids = in other words, to PI.
So... Pi is literally the GOD. The Alpha, the Omega, the beginning and the end. The holy trinity is literally the '3.'.
I was in Turkey in spring visit the Hagia Sophia found this on a Wall a sign?
Great, I am guessing wibrati should be vibrati, which according to the wiktionary is: "masculine plural of vibrato".
So the clue is obviously something to do with vibrato, a form of pulsating pitch used in vocal music. Also we need to look for 'R' in this vibrato by using our ears and not eyes. Finally under 'the burned temple' lies one clue.
My guess is the music that was in the video is needed for us to solve this. I'm going to try and analyze the sound date used in the video.
in the end of it all
vibrations is more understandable (vibrati -> vibrato -> etymology) (to vibrate/quiver)
and some sort of temple has some sort of clue to the puzzle (Hagia Sophia?)
I think it has something to do with strings (either notes or something else but most likely notes)
i ain't flying from canada all the way to germany, no matter how curious i am i can neither afford to pay for the trip nor would i be able to explain to my family why i'm suddenly leaving my uni to go to germany without sounding like a whackjob.
im kinda tripping desu.
i already know what this means but i came into knowing before ever seeing it?
like.. it actually holds the key to fundamentally understanding how the universe is retaliative to what we're collectively and individually thinking.
Pic related is the audio from the vid (dot) me video (>>17173812) shown as Pitch (EAC). I believe an answer might reside there since we are to look for something something vibrati (vibrato, pitch).
Program used: Audacity.
Alright so let me point out a few things. Picture shows someone playing a piano. The text is composed of four parts.
Music of the Spheres (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9BP_oUjtpY) is part 4 as mentioned in the video. The fourth part in the text containing one key word: Spheres.
I had a hunch that it might be him just promoting himself through Cicada 3301 but I see no reason why he would do that. He even has his own wikipedia site. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Sch%C3%B6enberger
But then again, it doesn't fit 3301 to reveal such information so openly. I'm not quite sure if it's really 3301 or not.
The site is fairly fishy, desu. But if you reverse search his image he turns out to be a real person. And not a boring artist, imo:
(The text in this links him to Botticelli also, who painted Birth of Venus, which was in the QR, btw)
But I think the guy is a vessel for keys if anything, probably left in the dark if anything
Anyone notice the new version is 3.14 in duration, and the website is also 3.14, and birth of venus is all about Golden Ratio? Also, the new Instar is all contrapuntal. WTF are those singers saying? Elinew?
sophia musik ..that account was linked the video last year which was never pg verified. Ulitmately would up relating to paintings on ebay didn't it? Wouldn't trust that without pgp especially considering 3301 made a pgp'd statement afterwords in july.
Schoenberger composed over 1000 original sonatas, concerti, and other musical pieces by the time he reached 10.
Doubt this guy would use this to gain anything.. he is some sort of beethoven brain child it seems
>It's possible he might have been contacted by them to put the codes into his music
His earliest videos with clues started back in 2013, so it might be possible you are correct. Considering the first one started in 2012. But if that is the case; wouldn't that imply whoever is 'recruited' by Cicada 3301 is given the task of producing puzzles themselves for future recruitment? They seem to want the best of the best with a knack for puzzle solving.
The wikipedia page is highly dubious, to be frank. It lacks any kind of source basically. Heck it even states that his youtube channel got 15 million views in the first year. Which I can't confirm anywhere so far.
Fuck, this dude is a genius. He could be capable of being Cicada 3301. Yea, some modern Beethoven...But he denies being Cicada, just says he knows em. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9msoJlE4xw
last time this happen I ended up with monkeys in my body
long story short
if this ends up being a banana someones in trouble oh yeah monkeys chimps the fbis watching your every move :)

I'm sorry i have to post it here: found out this:
The Saga continues with St.Germain's frightening and prophetic dream.....Paris will experience a wave of terror later this year and into 2015...and on May 12th 2016, a dirty bomb in Gare 'd Este
>Paris will experience a wave of terror later this year and into 2015...and on May 12th 2016, a dirty bomb in Gare 'd Este
OK I admit I wtf'd. He's about one year late with his estimation though, isn't he?
>So what do we have now ? can someone summarize and cap everything and even get the pics from the other threads from istanbul, germany and poland before the threads go down ?
This. Let's get an archive going
I hate to be that guy but aren't you supposed to solve this alone?
That one is supposed to be signed with OutGuess, but none of the obvious passwords yields anything. If it is unsigned, it doesn't mean anything. If it is signed, do you know the key?
Anyway, 3301 signed something new at 2016-01-03 (https://pgp.mit.edu/pks/lookup?op=vindex&search=0x181F01E57A35090F). So "they're not using PGP anymore" is completely wrong.
Ok, music nerd here, can play most instruments not related to percussion.
For a few seconds of the song i instantly thought of something from Buckethead's acoustic albums, ie Colma.
Then it busted into a brief modern country lick, ie not taylor swift country mind you, that "Copperhead road" style, lasted a few seconds, about that time i then heard the finger slides on the guitar, thats not of buckethead. Violin and piano came in, i had a brief thought of John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess. I then realized it was a full orchestra ensemble, not as powerful, however, orchestrated music is where i lack. I do believe i recgonize the guitar playing, i just cant put my finger on it. I do not believe this is an obscure music item since the quality of the sound and the professionalism on all the instruments are quite high. It may be related to a band doing a Metallica S&M thing. I have a knack for recognizing guitarists, and i can tell ive heard that style before.
All in all 7/10

3301 are outstanding intellegent people with extraordinary knowledge and an eye for aesthetics. All the new shit coming up since 3 days ago looks cheap as fuck when you compare it to PGP verified clues that were found. Still interested to see where this goes tho. i'm lurking
I hope to find the same knowledge using a different set of skills. If they kept using the same methods everyone wwho knows the older puzzles could pass easily
No authentic ones.
