Posting thread again because it 404ed

It's that time of week again where I post a link to a show, and the thread barely stays alive. Last week's show about Dopplegangers...SUCKED. It was my fault, I take all the blame, and I hope people will still come back as we're experiencing growing pains.

But this thread is about paranormal, mystic, and fabled creatures. Either loose information you have on them, personal accounts, ANYTHING! Wendigos, Black Eyed Kids, Skinwalkers, whatever you have, tell us about it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdwLUJggAKA

here's the link for the show Saturday at Midnight(eastern).

I will bump with my personal "ufo" account as time passes. I wasn't abducted. It's avutally a pretty shitty story....I'll just green text it now.

>be with dad around age 10
>him and a friend are talking
>friends points up
>"look at that anondad"
>we both look
>a shooting star?
>perfectly straight line
>thensuddenly.jpg
>it makes a perfect semi-circle and vanishes

i don't have experience with real creatures, just this shitty story

Differences between wendigos and skinwalkers? I thought they were the same
>>
>>14911672
A skinwalker is someone who assumes the forms of different creatures, a wendigo is completely different. A wendigo, to the Navajo is someone who has transformed into a beast because they regularly consumed human flesh.

A Clizyati is not the same as a wendigo, "Clizyati" refers to the act of relinquishing humanity so you can attain power that is beyond humanity.
>>
>>14911672
in researching I've found there's different names for things that are essentially the same. The only difference being the creation of the entity. Like the Japanese Jikininki, which is a shape shifting spirit of a greedy/evil human that eats corpses, but has been referred to as a wendigo. But that's not what a wendigo is in terms of creation. I could be wrong I still have to dig deeper into the wendigo research. As for skin walkers, they're completely different from those all together, as a skin walker-is a navajo legend of a witch who can transform herself into any shape she pleases(in some tales requiring the pelt of the animal), to cause discord and death.
>>
>>14911723
To my knowledge a Wendigo is the spirit that brings hungry men to cannibalism and makes them go rabid.

A really basic explanation but that's my understanding of it, I know that it's not really something that has a definitive form.
>>
>>14911708
this guy has the other origin story of the wendigo, thanks for contributing. It was not taboo to eat human flesh if there were no other resources available, however, if they acquired the taste of human flesh and continued to consume it in this life when other food sources were available...they would become a wendigo. I'm unsure if it was upon death, or just transforming into one...I'm sure it could go either way. I saved the heavy hitters for last I've only researched the opening few stupid creatures, I'm just going off of what i know about skin walkers, wendigos etc lol
>>
>>14911740
thank you. I've seen them depicted as...half man half deerlike...demon creatures in art. But maybe the folktale is that they are just rabid humans. Which actually makes sense because i believe humans do go mad after regularly eating human flesh. or not. im sure there's scientific evidence on that.

so for tonight i have pages on Jikininki, Phantom dogs, Pucas, and the loup garroux. That's why I'm influent with the skin walkers/wedigos still getting the small fries out of the way tonight to gather info on the big focus tomorrow night and be fresh for the show Saturday
>>
I've encountered one skin walker. While staying at a Navajo reservation in new mexico for spiritual enrichment, he revealed himself to me, seeing that my practices were essentially parallel to the Shamans that taught him. We became good friends. The transformation is breathtaking, but looks quite painful. The body convulses and contorts to take the shape of the mastered animal, which for him was a large coyote. It took such a toll on him, that I had to nurse his new body for about two hours before he could move comfortably. Despite our friendship, it is forbidden for Shamanic "magic" to be taught to outsiders, and i was not able to learn. Neither do I truly wish to learn, it was obviously extremely painful, and you are just as vulnerable as a coyote as you are as a human, if not more vulnerable, since coyotes are considered pests.

I remember watching a documentary on Netflix and they where wondering why some people suffered from it and others didn't. Apparently immunity is hereditary and out of curiosity they took random samples from all over the world. They were able to find that people who also had the gene that protected against disease in hundreds of samples. The scientists suggest that this meant that for these people they had a ancestor who at some point practiced cannibalism. Also It's probably isolated to Papua New Guinea because cannibalism was/is still a big thing. They don't believe in burying their dead.

They are nothing alike
Skinwalkers are evil shamans, not to be the creepypasta Skinwalker we here on /x/ made up. Which seems to be some amalgum of wendigo, werewolf, D&D doppleganger, and b-movie serial killer
Wendigos are evil spirits that possess the bodies of people that have resorted to cannibalism during winter that hunger for human flesh. They appear as emaciated human corpses, usually giant corpses since they increase in size every time they eat a person.

>not to be the creepypasta Skinwalker we here on /x/ made up.
/x/ didn't make it up. The creature exists in the real world, but it isn't called "skinwalker".
>>
>>14913857
They live in tunnels that can be found in the the desert and remote wooded areas. They hunt in packs and that is why they often choose to take the form of coyotes. They can hunt per usual and remain inconspicuous. They are tricksters and they will often imitate human voices, or take human form. They are known to lead people out in the wilderness where they'll be left to die.

However I'll entertain the thought. Four is my lucky number. Plus siding with the four means larger numbers in our favor. I'd rather take a larger group of semi strong vs a smaller group of those that are stronger. They will be worn down over the duration and lose. And i deal with trolls on air the same exact way...with stupid logic.

oh i have no information besides they're a creature type in magic the gathering, and theyre middle eastern in origin. that's why I like doing paranormal topics because I know these things are talked about, and exist, but I don't know super deep information about things like djinns, skin walkers etc.

I fancy more of scientific and thought provoking things like the show I did on the simulated universe theory. I like science stuff. I like it more when science and paranormal meet. Not so much investigation, but metaphysical discussion. I can't wait to do my Telsa show. Or the Edgar Cayce show.

I'm always looking for callers on skype or even telephone, but it's hard in the time slot I have unless i pre record the stuff.

My research has turned up an odd fact that might pique your interest.
Various eye witnesses have reported seeing earth lights just prior to encounters with these *walker and bigfoot type entities on a number of occasions in various locations.
Do you suppose that they're some kind of simulated entities for other world creatures to test people? See, I remember Preston Nichols saying that Duncan Cameron created a bigfoot monster from the Montauk chair.
Just food for thought, since just about everyone's second cousin had an encounter of some kind, but no one has ever been able to capture anything.

this is actually...pretty cool evidence.

maybe it has to do with energy released to create them or transport them to the location if that's the case. Maybe just existing could be a release of energy even, if theyre "mystical" because "spiritual" entities are said to have a special power within them according to several native american belief systems.

sorry for long response time, work is the worst

everyone knows what the skinwalkers are by now. but actually, a wendigo (in ojibway legends) is a spirit that sort of "possesses" a person and they become filled with hunger. a hunger for human flesh.

it even sparked a medical term, wendigo psychosis

I remember seeing a thread about summoning those on here a while ago, some esotericamerican website with a PDF (exactly 666 kb the day after I downloaded it, when downloaded it was 1004 kb) it was a red sheet of paper with a circle and some symbols, I didn't read the instructions and totally botched the process, got no results, but a lot of people on the thread said they had really negative effects, and that the spirits were not friendly at all and no one who hasn't already done this should attempt to. The website maker said they were going to add instructions for getting rid of the spirit but they never actually did, the website is just a black image with a white circle next to a white square, I believe some people went through it and found that it was accessing the webcam/mic of whoever had the website open.
The thread was shown to me by my best friend, told him about the camera thing and he said he had had it open in another tab for several hours, part of which he was watching porn.
I no longer have the PDF, but I could try to find it for you and tell you what I remember of the instructions if you're at all interested
>>
>>14925018
Yes, please. I would really like to see it.
>>
wow...you guys kept my thread alive and continued discussion.

Yes while I do know most people think they know what skin-walkers are, some don't know the "facts" behind the legend or the creation of them. I think a good number of folks who visit this board are accustomed to the bastardized and watered down version in creepypastas and not the awesome Navajo ones. Not to sound condescending, my apologies if I did, I just see misconceptions about REAL skinwalkers a lot in discussions about them elsewhere. Plus it's also for Me to learn and research. I'm just getting started on the right path(I hope) and trying to create a quality show. If I do a topic that people do have information on, and I mess something up, I expect to get called out on it. All part of growing and getting better as a podcaster. I love how /x/ has treated me so far, you guys have been amazing, and I couldn't ask for better listeners and viewers
>>
>>14924118
thanks for the support. after how bad last week's show was....I need to right the ship.

Anyone have suggestions for show topics, feel free to tell me. I try to be as interactive as I can with my show. I'm not exactly financially secure, but I'd love to get prizes flowing out once I get a big enough fan base.
>>
>>14924967
and see this is why I like /x/ so much. I covered wendigo psychosis on the show if i remember correctly lol

all jokes aside about everyone being underage and immature, there are some people on this site that are VERY knowledgeable about several different subjects
>>
>>14925018
>Hell yes we want that!
>>
>>14927157
I have to agree with you on this. But for every one person who really knows what they're talking about there's 20 who like to think they know what they're talking about. I've reached a point where there are certain topics on here that I just don't talk about because of the amount of armchair researchers that they attract.

Usually mythological discussions go quite well though.
>>
>>14927281
exactly

I won't front. I do this because Art Bell is my inspiration to do radio. Yes, I would love to make money one day from doing podcasts, and following my dream. But you know what? Right now isn't that time. Why? I'm inexperienced, I'm still learning about the paranormal, and I'm earning stripes. So I can;t even begin to pretend I have in depth knowledge of al of these things, but as you said there are people who think they KNOW what's going on. If I don't, I won't lie, and I won't pretend to know what I'm talking about. That doesn't help anyone. It gives false information, makes me a worse podcaster, and ruins my reputation. Other people can get away with that, they're anonymous. Once the thread dies, their misinformation return to the aether. That's why I have to make sure people know I'm truthful about being ignorant to some things lol
>>
Not trying to start an immediate upchuck of many /x/ goers, but would you be interested in hearing what I have to say on what's known a werewolves? If so I'd prefer to do so through email due to this boards aversion to the topic.
>>
>>14927334
It's always best to admit your shortcomings. It's also a very good idea to do research. I've got quite a bit of experience in the paranormal and I've done my research on a lot of different topics. I always try and go for reliable usually anthropological sources and will construct my own theories for things that can't be explained, like ghosts and what not. When it comes to mythological beings/cryptids it's usually a good idea to look into the original mythology surrounding them as best as you can. There's almost always a book or two out there that will cover many different mythologies of many different cultures, I do have a theoccult.bz account though so I might be at an unfair advantage in access to such things. It's also a good idea to read as many sightings reports as you can, and then you can begin to draw your own conclusions from those.
>>
>>14910647
Thought I'd do my best to clear up a bit of the confusion in this thread.

>Wendigo

Wendigo's appear in numerous legends, ranging from the Japanese to the Nords. But, their most famous, and most quoted, is their presence in the Navajo legends. According to them, a person who consumes human flesh, the tastiest and most filling meat according to the Muslims and the Old tribes of the Middle East, becomes filled with a hunger for more and more. When a person consumes the flesh, the gradually lose their mind until nothing remains but the hunger. Make no mistake, consuming the flesh does not make you the creature, but consuming it surrounded an entity that would transform you into a beast. The Algonquian believed those who indulged in eating human flesh were at particular risk; the legend appears to have reinforced the taboo of the practice of cannibalism. It is often described in Algonquian mythology as a balance of nature.

All cultures in which the Wendigo myth appeared shared the belief that human beings could turn into Wendigos if they ever resorted to cannibalism, or, alternatively, become possessed by the demonic spirit of a Wendigo, often in a dream. Once transformed, a person would become violent and obsessed with eating human flesh. The most frequent cause of transformation into a Wendigo was if a person had resorted to cannibalism, consuming the body of another human in order to keep from starving to death during a time of extreme hardship, for example in hard winters, or famine.

Among northern Algonquian cultures, cannibalism, even to save one's own life, was viewed as a serious taboo; the proper response to famine was suicide or resignation to death. On one level, the Wendigo myth thus worked as a deterrent and a warning against resorting to cannibalism; those who did would become wendigo monsters themselves.

cont.
>>
>>14927406
>SkinWalker

In some Native American legends, a skin-walker is a person with the supernatural ability to turn into any animal he or she desires. To be able to transform, legend sometimes requires that the skin-walker wears a pelt of the animal. In most cases, this pelt is not used in modern times because it is an obvious sign of them being skinwalkers.

Similar lore can be found in cultures throughout the world and is often referred to as shape shifting by anthropologists.

Possibly the best documented skinwalker beliefs are those relating to the Navajo yee naaldlooshi. A yee naaldlooshii is one of several varieties of Navajo witch. Technically, the term refers to an ’ánt’??hnii who is using his (rarely her) powers to travel in animal form. In some versions, men or women who have attained the highest level of priesthood are called clizyati, "pure evil", when they commit the act of killing a close blood relative , incest, or necrophilia. This act is said to destroy their humanity and allow them to fully immerse themselves in the teachings of the Witchery Way.

The ’ánt’??hnii are human beings who have gained supernatural power by breaking a cultural taboo. Specifically, a person is said to gain the power to become a yee naaldlooshii upon initiation into the Witchery Way. This is done especially via the Navajo equivalent of the 'Black Mass', a perverted "sing" (Navajo ceremonial) used to curse instead of to heal. Both men and women can become ’ánt’??hnii and therefore possibly skinwalkers, but men are far more numerous. It is generally thought that only childless women can become witches. Not every witch is a skin walker, but every skin walker is a witch.

this is great. I feel like I covered most of that in the show, after getting research in, BUT I never actually got to the skin walker part of the show because time ran short on me. I was hoping to cover them in part 2 when i get around to it, I'm thinking next week's show will be a little bit different. I have more fun researching stuff science related and metaphysics. It's possible, I got my account from some dude on /x/ giving them out to the first 10 people who posted an email in his thread. I also happen to be a power user on the site but I'm not sure when they're next going to let us invite people. If you're capable of keeping up a good ratio I'll see if I can remember you next time they allow us to invite.

>>14927526
It basically is that, yeah. Except it has A LOT of exclusive content. Right now it's up to 32,014 total torrents.

OH! And I'd be remiss to forget to mention my favourite.

Drekavac - A creature believed to come from the soul of a dead unbaptised child. Truly a horrid creature. Symptoms of it's presence are sudden feeling of hopelessness and a constricting feel in your legs.

well I guess this will be my trip from here on out so I can be identified. I hate having one, but hey...its best for business.

also I though I'd mention that if you're interested I also would love to have people on for skype interviews, or even real phone calls if you want to get onto the show. Just food for thought. We haven't had a caller since episode 1 lol
>>
>>14927577
If I had invites to give out I would, man. Most people should be able to keep a decent ratio on there, especially since they have a new Freeleech torrent every week and if you download that and let it seed you pretty much get an instant nice ratio boost.

But like I said, they very rarely even allow us the privilege of being able to invite new people. Right now is not one of those times.

>Cikavac

Cikavac is a mythical creature in Serbian mythology, imagined as a winged animal (a bird) with long beak and a pelican-like sack. While not always, first hand sources have depicted the creature as a goose with large sac on it's belly. Most people have said that the creature is friendly to it's owner, as long as the owner is a kind hearted man, however, some have said that if the owner should mistreat any being, human or animal, it will curse the owner and leave him to die.

A cikavac could be acquired by taking an egg from a black hen, which would then be carried by a woman under her armpit for 40 days, during which time one would not confess, cut nails, wash face or pray. The cikavac would then suck honey from others' beehives and milk of others' cattle, and bring it to the owner; it would fulfill any owner's wish, and also enable its owner to understand the animal language. It is said that the Cikavac would also lay golden eggs, i was told this by a woman in a village so I'm not sure about it's authenticity.

I really wouldn't attempt to summon or breed anything here. The reports you hear about are from the survivors, we never know how many died or were 'broken' during the summoning. Plus, you'd need a fresh black hen egg.

Anything Else anybody?
>>
>>14927595
If i can get an invite one day, cool. If not, oh well no worries. I'm not going to beg and plead and pressure people into things. If it's meant to be it's meant to be. But if you can one day many MANY thanks.
>>
>>14927618
Where would someone even get a fresh black egg from a black hen?

So how about that run in with the unbaptized baby?
>>
>>14927650
I actually just went over a thread where they were talking about what they were doing with the invite system.

It looks like they're trying to move it over to an IRC interview type of thing, but that's been in the works for like two years. And the one time when all the power users got 10 invites may have been a one time thing, needless to say they're being very slow about it.

Then again this is a website which deals in the occult, and there are many many people who would rather have that information limited to a select few. I am not one of them, but whatever.
>>
>>14927658
I'd rather not talk about that right now.
>>
>>14927669
That makes sense. I can't get mad about them wanting to keep information to a smaller crowd, we all know there's several reasons for that. Maybe one day, until then, I can use stuff like sacred-texts.com and the other odd off sites iIve come across

They're not even the same. I don't know why someone decided to call them skinwalkers, because they're not native american.

Up until the 80's the platypus was the only known egg laying mammal, now scientist recognize the existence of another egg laying mammal called the Echidna.

Several years back an Oklahoma man was framed for murder by a doppleganger that I believe must have been a shapeshifter. You see he was looking for them and they don't like that. Many people experience misfortune when they go out looking, but this was the first time someone was framed for murder. He is now in jail even though there are several people that could account for his whereabouts at the time of the murder and they know he couldn't have done it.

I have interest in many subjects, oddly enough I like weird science nonsense like telsa, simulated universe theories(the most)/metaphysical stuff/and ghosts and scary stories.

I like having scurry and spoopy stories to tell because I have the voice for it. It's just being honed down now.
>>
I have information on some things.

Nobody would believe me, though, because obviously everything humans post is real and 100% genuine.
Which is total bullshit.

Don't believe everything you read.
Yes, including this.

I'll only post what I know if anyone is interested.

Know about werewolves mostly, other werecreatures a little, a little on vampires, a little on demons, etc.

Believe if you want, disbelieve if you want.
Whatever floats your boat.

I hope you know I got out of bed in the middle of the night SIX IN THE MORNING TO TURN ON MY LAPTOP AND REPLY, just kidding I don't sleep anyways.

Now...don't get me wrong. I'm skeptical of the stories I've been given. He may be a roleplayer(we are on /x/) but He did give me some good points of information that are highly interesting.

>>
>>14946346
>>14946327
Hold on ill give you a bit of what was sent.

like I said, probably just a roleplayer, I DO have to be a skeptic because its my duty as a podcaster digging for information
>>
>>14946366
That's understandable.
>>
Classic characteristics. In human form they just appear like normal humans save for one marking on their body that looks something like a birthmark. The actual design and shape of it varies between each individual. What makes the mark different from normal skin discolorations is that it will move/spread across the body in localized areas.

Origin of the myth itself I believe came from the Úlfhéðnar.. Who are very similar to Berserkers except they were lupine aspected rather than ursine. However origin of werewolves is parallel to humans wondering about their own origin. Some of them consider themselves decendants of Fenrir, which runs parallel to the Ulfhednar myth origin. Fenrir serves as sort of a main religion amongst wolves.

here's just a little bit of the talking points he sent. these were classic signs of werewolves. There's more, but I have to save it for the show/like he said will be scoffed at lol
>>
>>14946380
here's a little more

The full moon belief is simply hollywood. Werewolves can shift at will if they have learned to accept and control themselves. Werewolves who do not know what they are are called Ferals, since they shift unwillingly and unknowingly without control. Now this does not mean it's bloodlust for humans, simply like a large wolf out in the wild.
>>
>>14946380
You may see myself as a roleplayer, too.
However, I assure you I only want to share information so you can tell the difference between fact and fiction.
Although, I am aware you'll be skeptical of myself as well.
I understand that.
As I've said, believe as you wish.

I don't know where he's got that "information" from, but it is wrong.
There is definitely no moving birthmark.
Wolves can believe in whatever they wish, I doubt many actually remember who Fenrir is.
Many of us have grown up believing we were human, and that had hindered us greatly.
Some bloodlines are stronger than others.
It skips generations, hence why most of us don't know what we truly are until later.

I have more, but what exactly did you want to know?
>>
>>14946405
he actually did mention the skipping of generations. claimed to be an alpha with no pack if that means anything. So everyone knows I'm not getting baited, I'm digging here. Even if there are roleplayers, they have quality information usually...and if they ARE real...well maybe we'll never actually know.

You can establish an email with me, and I can ask you the questions there, as to not air it all out if you'd prefer that, plus i can ask questions that are more...personal in depth etc and not out you if you are a RPer. Either way if you have information, that's what I need.
>>
>>14946395
The full moon actually affects a rare few.
But not in the sense it forces them to shift.
Many wolves do not know what they are, and I have never heard of the term Ferals made for us.
It is true we are just normal wolves, with human minds.
Maybe slightly larger, yes.
Some of us have the typical "anthro" form seen in movies, except we look more wolflike than human.
Most of us are just bigger-than-average wolves.
>>
>>14946417
He called them Ferals, it's his term for those that don't know what they are. Same was said about larger than normal wolves.

So like i said some information is checking out to be similar, BUT i need to sift through it as to what is commonplace as accepted "myth"

anyone who claims to be...of "supernatural" origin(thats a relative term. humans are "normal" because you know...its the world we live in...a human dominated one) I will gladly establish communication with for a short interview on air or through email to determine if you're bunk or not. That's one of the fun parts of this though oddly enough. You never know what you're gonna come up with
