How the are you supposed to simplify sin(2t)-tan(t) any further?

Every website I've looked at recognizes that form as the simplest.

Yeah I need more context to know what they consider to be more simplified.

How did you go from:

2sin (t)cos (t) - sin (t)/cos (t)

[Sin (t)/cos (t)]•[2cos^2 (t) - 1]

on the right side. I understand relating the first part to 2cost^2-1, but how do you go from subtracting sin (t)/cost(t) to multiplying it?

I don't understand where the negative symbol for sin (t)/cos (t) goes? I've seen the end result one other random place as an option, but I've yet to see how you turn:

2cos^2 (t) -1 - tan (t)

into

tan (t) 2cos^2 (t) - 1

Factor out sin/cos. I sorta skipped a step.

2sin (t)cos (t) - sin (t)/cos (t)

2sin (t)cos^2 (t)/cos (t) - sin (t)/cos (t)

[Sin (t)/cos (t)]•[2cos^2 (t) - 1]
