I can't seem to run any mp4 videos on mpc-hc All i get is

I can't seem to run any mp4 videos on mpc-hc
All i get is a black screen and the video is stuck on "stopped" i tried the videos with another video player (vlc, the first thing i could think of) and they work fine, could anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? (i just installed it for the first time)

not an expert in this shit, but it might be a codec problem? install ac3filter or ffdshow maybe

kawaii codec pack is specifically designed for anime
i had some weird blurry effect while watching Madoka, this fixed it

I don't know anything about codecs, so I merely installed CCCP and used the MPC-HC that came with it.
