Laptop: Aspire e-15, Intel Core i5, 4GB DDR3 L RAM, 500GB HDD
Windows 8 is giving me performance issues unparalleled in their crippling.
I have a partitioned hard drive with Ubuntu and Windows 8 (native). Everything has been completely fine since forever, until about an hour ago:
>Log into windows 8
>Windows 8 works fine, until
>Find out that icons do not respond when clicked
>At all
>Weirdly enough task manager isn't freaking out and everything else is completely normal.
>It's just the icons
>Reboot
>Now windows freezes in about two minutes
>Reboot
>Now the desktop isn't even showing
>BIOS
>Retreat to ubuntu
>Here I am
I'm freaking out a little bit because I can't transfer my datas from windows to my external HD nor can I even scan windows with my antivirus.
This is definitely a software issue rather than a hardware issue because Ubuntu works perfectly, Tails and kali linux on my bootable usbs work perfectly, and my virtual machines on ubuntu work perfectly too.
Googling around isn't helping :(
Any suggestions would be amazing
Thank you so much in advance!!

I would recommend either refreshing/resetting Windows 8 or upgrading to Windows 10 because win8 is garbage.
