Yes, there is even a plugin to use your mouse instead aiming with your keyboard, makes the game way better if you dont have a controller for your PC.

Its one of the few games that have 99% accuracy emulation in most emulators.

I was looking for a Nintendo song that I heard a while back, I was sure that it was a Donkey Kong 2 song but after I started looking for it I coudn't find it, it's a super piratey tune, kinda of like a sea shanty? It starts up super upbeat and care free with winds and flutes, but then slowly starts to get dark and foreboding as the drums start to come in and start to beat really heavy, anyone know what i'm talking about?

Whats more tragic is the fact that from the start, no quality recording was ever made, and in my humble opinion, this essemble deserved better.

It really is just a high quality ambient recording, but still a far cry from how it could really sound given proper individual stage capture and mastering.

When I was a kid I would always be at Ecruteak city just to hear the music. Hell if I can find my gameboy im sure I would be in Ecruteak right now, I can vividly remember imagining sitting on one of the rooftops and watching the sun set while this was playing. I didn't have bills or responsibilities, ignorance really was bliss. It actually almost brought a tear to my eye and I almost broke. I'm going through a pretty tough time right now and this made it much more bearable. Thanks for sharing this, it really means a lot to me.

I feel you man, Gold/Silver/Crystal are masterpieces.
If you're into this sort of thing, I found the "Johto Legends" project, which is an orchestral arrangement of the G/S music. It's still in the works, but you can find previews online. It'll be on CD and vinyl, if you like having physical media.
It's the same group who just did the Hero of Time OoT orchestra, and that came out fantastic. It made my day to stumble upon it, hope it brightens your day, too.

The idea with the wandering music is that it's playing to accentuate the sounds of nature, so of course it isn't going to play constantly. You could argue it could be more contextual, but there's only so much you can bugtest with a game like this. All of the other contextual music is great.
