Thread for music that's more unorthodox or less popular than what we typically listen to.
Please no chillhop.
I'll start with an OC video.

Would you like me to, anon?
Hope this OC doesn't sound too chill-hoppy.
I have a weird interest in folk punk.
>>1624227
Yeah I think you should upload all of them. I really like this aesthetic. I think you're pacing between the visuals and the music is really well done.
I find something very peaceful when there are music, visuals and spoken word all combined over each other. It feels bigger since it's almost impossible to anticipate whats next. A kind of experience you just need to surrender too. Plus when you watch/listen back you can always pair things up to make new connections. Can always pull something new out of it.
Maybe you'll like this? Your stuff is a lot more refined, but I like this video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWZDKbUSw-g
His other stuff is very different, so not sure if this was accidental, but I've been watching it for years
>>1624308
Thanks anon. That's actually a really nice video.
I really like rhythm editing, something very satisfying about watching the music sync up to the visuals.
I hope this doesn't break my own thread's rules since people like oldies and it's not really too uncommon.
But I guess if I say that it's Classic Psychedelic Rock than it's more shoe-hornable.

No problem, man. My roommates actually really dig it too - I used this song as ambient music for my D&D campaign, and it worked out very nicely.
Hold up wait, I have a request and this is definitely the right place to ask
There's a song, which samples what I'm pretty sure is one of those silicon robot throat/mouths that simulate human speech physically rather than using a speaker and voice synthesis software. The video is also of the robot thing making sounds, at least the first few seconds.
The 'voice' sample is like 3 seconds and repeats at least for the first section of the song
I have no idea what to search for or even how to find something like that

>be me
>be 14, I believe (been passing out today, I'm a little dazed)
>great grandfather is in hospital
>I'm pretty close with him
>I remember when I was younger, while him and my mom were talking, I'd take this rusty BB gun he had and I'd go out and pretend to hunt wild game (Literally anything that could be considered game) and then bring it back to him
>without fail he would mire at my "trophies" and I'd feel so proud of myself
>well, anyways, he ends up falling and fucking up his windpipe
>I go to visit him every chance I get
>have to really hold myself back from crying, he had to have a breathing machine hooked up to him (essentially a tube had to be inserted into his windpipe via and it would help him breath)
>he wasn't awake during the times he had the artificial windpipe, it was pretty painful and talking would fuck with how the tubing was inserted apparently
>I was so relieved to see him without the tube when he got it off, we continued to have great convos
>I would tell him about how good things were going with me, my personal interests, etc, and he would tell me personal stories
>he was a pretty cool guy, traveled around a lot when he was younger
>I distinctly remember when he told me about how he saw the Beatles at their first gig in The Cavern
>this telling was prior to his stay in the hospital, btw
>everytime I went to leave he'd tell me how proud he was of me, felt really good
>and so he was slowly recovering for a couple of weeks and the visiting pattern stayed the same
>come in one day
>while talking to him, I feel weird
>as I go to leave, I feel as though this is the last time I'll see him
>I turn around when I'm at the door and I look at him
>"Love you, paw."
>"Love you too, anon."
>"Hey anon,"
>"Yes sir?"
>"Have I told you how proud I am of you lately?"
>he laughs, real flemish
>"Yes sir, you sure have." I smile
>"Well, I'm proud of you, in case I haven't."
>"Thank you, sir."
>we say goodbye and I leave
cont.
>>1659452
>two days later
>grandparents are getting ready to go somewhere
>I ask where they're going
>"Paw's condition has suddenly gotten bad, do you want to go?"
>anons, although I can't believe what I said next, I don't blame myself
>"No, that's alright."
>grandparents leave
>I sit in the living room, TV off, complete silence
>phone rings
>mom answers it
>she talks with someone for a couple of minutes
>comes into living room
>"We're going to need six pallbearers."
>I nodded and started crying
>didn't stop sniffing and wheezing until I went to sleep
>I was a pallbearer at his funeral
>I saw people in my family crying who you would never catch even so much as sulk in any other situation (I'm talking about law enforcement, gunmakers, handymen, etc., my family has a lot of tough guys in it)
Anons, I couldn't bring myself to go, I just don't think I could witness the death of someone so great in my eyes, so close to me. I still think of that last time we spoke every now and again.
I miss him dearly.

Damn. I don't think you did the wrong thing by not going one last time. You felt in yourself that when you were leaving it would be the last time you'd see him, so not going wouldve been the right thing to do. I was very fond of my grandfather as well as he was of me too, I'd sit by his bedside and he'd tell stories, amazing ones, ones of war and such. When he passed away at the age of 93 I wanted nothing more but to be a pallbearer but sadly I was only 13 at the time and so too short. When my grandmother died 2 years later I also wanted to become a pallbearer but sadly was still too young and short.

Little brother, little brother, stop crying, stop crying
Though you are crying and crying, who else will carry you
Who else will groom you, both of us are now orphans
From the island of the dead, their spirit will continue to look after us
Just like royalty, taken care of with all the wisdom of such a place
Little brother, little brother even in the gardens
This lullaby continues to the different divisions of the garden,
From the island of the dead, their spirit will continue to look after us
Little brother, little brother, stop crying, stop crying

I'm a bit mad about all the patriciandom ITT. Why is it so difficult to find IRL?
It's not about liking the music I like, far from it.
It's about that attitude of exploration I see here, of sharing stuff just for the sake of being different, try different tastes, even if you come across something you hate
Normalfag music is cancer, blasting all day long the latest summer hit for a fucking year.
It's literally agreeing on what to like for the next months, and making it the norm and standard.
I'm not whining about being left out. More like complaining about being left alone in my exploration, because nobody seems to give a fuck

I agree completely. My favorite thing to do when listening to music is to explore all of the different things out there, even if I don't like them. I really like to share all the interesting and strange songs I find with my friends, but usually I feel that they just don't get it.
and this last post concludes my "Turkish Music Series", these were some types that you have probably never heard before
genres are;
>>1731440 turkish "darkwave"
>>1731453 a war era folk song
>>1731458 "anatolian rock", or turkish psychedelic rock
>>1731463 ottoman classical music from mid-19th century
>>1731467 some modern style ottoman marching band music from a tv series
>>1731471 some turkish islamic music, probably sufi
>>1731475 an old folk song played with a "microtonal guitar"
and this last one i am posting is a modern version of a 13th century sufi song from a movie

Also, here's a link to a mix of really interesting songs (if you're into that). Too long to post here.
