It presents a mystery that nobody bothers to solve as the "hook" and excuse to do wacky things.
When you finally accept that the show just introduced this supernatural being to explain away everything, then it tries to actually do more plot with it, introducing ANOTHER supernatural being that's in competition with the other.

It ends up being a show about absolutely nothing, with inconsistent characters that lack any development beyond random grand gestures that are mostly forgotten. Most of their characterization is done in a "tell, don't show" fashion. It's the result of a piss poor adaptation of a LN into anime (or a piss poor LN, but I wouldn't know since I felt no desire to read it after seeing the show).

It's a tone deaf show that goes from wacky comedy to deep drama without skipping a beat. Like the characters themselves the show doesn't know what it should be.

You keep watching, hoping for something to make sense. But it never, ever does. It's an absolute waste of time and you're better off just watching the few funny clips of it than attempting to actually watch it.
