Hey, so I already submitted my first ricing try a while ago but I wasn't really pleased with how it turned out, so I thought I could use some help for my 2nd try, any suggestions on which icon pack I should use that matches the pape? I'm also looking for a gear-looking clock widget, but didn't have any luck with Zooper nor KWGT, I'll post again with the results and will also rate the other posts as well.

So, this is my first ever try at using klwp, so I don't expect and r8. i was just playing around with text, launching apps etc.
but i've got some questions to it. I tried to make my own media player, that i can fade in/fade out with tapping (just like the hexagon in the video), but after setting up the bars, I don't know how to structure the play/stop/fwd etc buttons. And i can't figure out how to blur the background inside of shapes, I either can't find it or it's not possible?

It's entirely personal preference, it's just that the menu box itself is very sanitary, with a digital look and thick boxy lines. While the background has those elements, the main feature is the soft ambient lighting, not the stair's parallel edges or color from the signs. It's not that there's one thing you could change to get it perfect, it's that it just doesn't thematically fit the background.

I think you can't make a global color variable to be a formula or use a text variable as a color either. In that case, for the elements you want to copy and paste the same function to all the bits you want to apply it to by selecting the color field and putting it as a function and using something like:

$if(df(e)=1, [color 1], if(df(e)=2, [color 2], if(df(e)=3, [color 3], if(df(e)=4, [color 4], if(df(e)=5, [color 5], if(df(e)=6, [color 6], [color 7]))))))$

And in terms of the image, you'd have to change [color x] on that function to be the source of the image.

make a global thats a list. make it a list of hex values that are the colors you want. set up a trigger that moves to the next item.

to have the image change daily: make a folder in your phone that has all 7 images in it (for example put a folder ie your downloads folder called weekly_papes), rename the images to single numbers that correspond with the days of the week, then make a global thats a text formula thats /home/storage/emulated/downloads/weekly_papes/$df(e)$ then make the background that global

you can also make the color automagically using a formula to make it based on the background. to do this make sure you have that changing background set up then make a text global thats the formula "$bp(<something>, gv(bg))$" by <something> i mean check out the template and see what you think will look good. and fiddle with it.

hope this helps you! make sure to learn about the stengths and weaknesses of each type of global and use them as often as you can. i usually try to attach as many colors to globals as i can so i can quickly change them when i want.

As for any rates, is this new left screen better? Now the network shit isn't crammed up there, but also creates some white space. Personally I like it, so probably not going to change it, but curious what most people think.

the thing you want is a good design, from a wallpaper to widgets to icons you want it to feel consistent and have good colors and good balance.
klwp/kwgt are good tools for creating custom widgets as its quite hard to find consistently designed and well made widget sets.

Current build, just put in the finishing touches. Decided to go for a more material design aesthetic so its not as jarring when i open literally any app. Thoughts?

Kinda a weird question I guess, but has anyone ever riced an android device into a pure mp3 player? I wanna have my old gs4 like, boot/unlock into a music app. and also be like ~aesthetic of course.

I can't imagine having one of the fancier KLWP screens in here on a daily basis. just changing a shortcut to reflect new app preferences would be a massive PITA. even homescreens are too much of a bother to manage, so I 99% of what i use is the app drawer (nova's, swipe to open, capacitive back button to close, pull to search/see recents) and the stock notification center, with the only exceptions being the (two page) dock with eight stupidly essential apps and some swipe-up gestures for a few closely related ones (like messages+contacts/dialer, stock music+r/a/dio, camera+gallery), an invisible flashlight button on the upper half, and a widget in the center that only appears when alarms are set.
