Hey moko, is there a way to change the way that show hidden tray icon facing?
I just realized it last night that it never changes.
Otherwise thanks for the theme, though the white bar on context menu is still there and I have no idea what causing it
Went to the North American International Auto Show yesterday. That was awesome.
I'm a pretty plain person.
yes, it's Rainmeter, but it works for me.
upper-left is for when I have a small window in the middle, because I hate the taskbar clock, upper-right is mostly for decoration (though it's still useful), and the taskbar just looks dumb without a clock (also there for when a window is maximized.
2 of the 3 are redundant and actually add nothing to the desktop.
If you don't want to have the taskbar clock then don't use it and get a visual style because right now it looks like trash.
>guess what game I had on gamecube back in the day
The eq looks better when its moving, I swear
Sorry guys I wish I could have the effort to into linux
Also I didn't clean up, my desktop these days has fell into disrepair
Guess my favorite old school game
I just started doing some stuff tonight, I really want a better sidebar but I'm finding it hard to keep the information I want without compromising it, also Enigma's base sidebar is the only one I think looks any good without too much work with the steam setup
My browser needs a lot of work, but right now I'm focused on setting up Chameleon [ https://github.com/socks-the-fox/chameleon ] to work with all of my rainmeter skins so I can just switch and forget for the most part while keeping some cohesion, as you can see I'm far from optimal results.
still liking this one! its great
Sorry if this question is somewhat trite but I've been using OD+ for years and currently changed up my whole desktop, it seems finding themes however got a bit harder and I'll have to edit most of the ones I've found however the wincustomize wiki appears to be down.
Does anyone know any good places to find information on editing these OD+ stuff?
deny my aesthetics, but I do it for the love of the game really
wtf is dis
This is neat, 8.6/10
nice, but the colour i feel would become annoying over time, no?
ill do some more later, this thread is dyeing early
you can set margins around the edge of the screen in openbox
reminder that #dailyrice was the greatest thing to ever happen to desktop threads, and now it's dead
real desktop coming through, you can ignore that 'fbuntu' guy. Most people over at your sister thread just ignore the guy. Look how he spams desktops!
Took your 4chan css and changed things a bit. No 4chan X, so I don't know if the catalog is supposed to look like this originally. What exactly is centering the thread previews as a whole in catalog?
Thats the music player itself. Very aesthetic but the player itself needs alot of work because its missing a ton of functionality and alot of my music is not displaying properly. I'll probably go back to banshee which is great except its kinda ugly
Here's my desktop on just rainmeter. Think I'm satisfied.
Any suggestions for Rainmeter gadgets that would suit well with my current desktop?
Can someone spoonfeed me for a bit, I would like to know how I can fall for the ricing meme. Is there a guide on how to get something like this, the one in InstallGentoo doesn't really help me step by step.
That's my desktop!
Use bblean and windows. Only use bblean for the bbleanbar and menu.
You can get a very similar look with openbox and tint2
>anons can't into catalog
Somehow they always manage to make duplicate threads.
That's a nice wall
No. Rice a bit more before using rainmeter.
You're pretty much stock atm
I like that wall.
Still stock though.
>bikes are better than cars
Used to hate classic, but it's really grown on me.
Good colors and a good wall go a long way. Just need to see some new navigation arrows to polish it up.
auto show was pretty good. A nice pick me up t b h
>What plugins/other shit do you have installed or uninstalled for bblean?
Default, havent toyed with plugins outside of their RC files. Only started using bblean a few days ago actually lel
i remember you, hi
this ones nice, i might use those colours some time
space godzilla was stupidly fun
ty for the css link int the previous thread also that's a nice fb; kinda made me re create my old setup
you may never see this anon but it's fb2k with graphical browser plugin
i think i remember you
Not a fan of the bblean look so I'm not sure what I want to do from here, I am a large fan of transparency as you can probably see.
I'm sure there are some more things I can do to help this along but they slip my mind at the moment, if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
I added dexpot but it's not playing nice with displayfusion so I might have to scrap it. It's only 4% CPU compared to what it used to be though so it's much more lightweight than last time I used it.
Shall I edit Enigma's Network meter to also use Chameleon (from Rainmeter)?
Here's just showing a second wallpaper and the automatic color picking setup through chameleon.
Unfortunately rainmeter doesn't seem to allow me to have semi-transparent text outlined which is leading me to problems with some desktops and chameleon's auto picker.
You don't need to copy the same style (which is flat) that most people use.
Especially since you seem very keen on using rainmeter which I've used in the past to add a dropshadow to my bar, or like >>6461298 giving it a transparent border.
All it takes is a little creativity.
But before that, you need a visual style cause you're still stock.
Yeah, I've had bad experience installing VS on my last machine so I've forsaken it thus far, before I found out how easy ObjectDock actually is finding a good mix was a real pain in the ass.
any advices are welcome!
@Im new to ubuntu
And here is my destop from the day before yesterday:)
Other dude wasn't me, but he's right it's a very basic openbox desktop. Font rendering is done in fontconfig, rest is done through Xresources. Openbox theme is just a bar with some 20 pixel button XBM files
On the nanami-tan page the /g/ users guide
ABP is no longer that good, you should be using uBlock Origin.
for Remove software it recommends CCleaner but doesn't note you can easily uninstall things with it much better than their method
I just uploaded all my wallpapers (557) to imgur
So I setup UltraUXThemePatcher and everything is working fine regarding themes except... I can't rightclick my desktop or highlight it or any of the like.
Does anyone happen to know a solution for this?
Yeah I figured it out though, fucking dexpot was at fault, apparently happens sometimes and I found the fix.
Next is firefox, for some reason no matter the theme I pick the searchbar row doesn't get changed it seems. Neither skinned nor moved. I imagine it has to do with some of the more recent changes since the guide says 29 and up and I'm on like 43.
I'll figure this one out myself though, firefox is genearlly easy to find stuff on, thanks again.
Next is firefox I suppose and trying to figure out the alpha value of the VS I used to edit my enigma/stuff to a similar value
What's that? I'm also on 43.
I need an abstract wallpaper, or something that doesn't catch the eye too much but still looks good. I like it minimalist as you can see.
What are you using for what I assume is the virtual desktops to switch between at the top?
There's a minimalist thread going on now, I have a bunch already if you give something more to go off of I might have one that fits.
my first time posting here, so heres my shitty windows desktop, I want to install Ubuntu to learn stuff and only use Windows for gaming, any recommendations?
I've been searching for a decent Windows 10 visual style for a good hour and can't find anything I like or anything that doesn't say "Warning: not tested on final version of Windows 10." All I want is a professional looking dark theme for windows explorer for the sake of my eyes. Can someone point me in the direction of one they like?
Nevermind. Something's messed up with the current patch of Win 10. Choosing a custom theme using the current version of UXThemePatcher 10 results in a black screen that flashes white once in awhile. Had to revert to the restore point I made just before doing it. I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't just implement a dark theme for their operating system like they do for Visual Studio or Office. They already have a dark theme for things like the settings menu, but it doesn't translate to the file browser or anything else for literally no reason.
Visual Styles exist you just need to look for them: http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/customization/skins/windows/win10/
And the best way to patch is following this: http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/70555-Uxstyle-and-Theme-Signature-Bypass-for-Windows-10-TH2-AKA-1511-AKA-10586
God no anon.
Thanks anon. For some reason it wouldn't give me permission to rename the file with either patcher active, so I just found a style made after the patch and it worked fine. Cheers.
It's actually a quick edit I made in Topaz Simplify of a wallpaper I found on wallhaven
nice and clean, i like
love it anon, them astethics
CHANTRESS CAME TO MEEE AND SAID, MEEET MEEE AAAT THE LAKE, TOOOONIIIGHT/10
not too shabby, like the dark wall
Also, can someone help me fix my Desktop?
I need tips, i need a proper wallpaper
Just put this together today. How'd I do?
It's simple, and I like it.
Your colors are similar but the opaciy is leaving them looking slightly off, top corners both show it, just edit them to have the same opacity and you'll be much better off.
I like the papes, I don't really see a problem if minimal info is what you were going for, unless you want to change the start logo or VS or something.
There are tons of apps for this, not that anon but I personally use displayfusionpro, there are free versions (even of display fusion) that do the job just fine. Scroll down to find it on nanami-tan's page, there are a few options there.
Does anyone know any desktop apps or rainmeter skins that simulate a typical sports ticker?
Those things you would see at the bottom that give you the scores of games.
I feel like I'm in the right place to ask this.
First time using Rainmeter to customize my desktop and the other thread is dead.
I am trying to improve this current desktop of mine in terms of I want to possibly get a few more icons for things like Steam, maybe get a player that shows what is playing on Spotify.
I like as you can tell the minimalist themes that also work with space themed wallpapers.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
just chilling if you have any suggestions i would be grateful
Having trouble finding a nice wallpaper with purely nice colour and texture. Everything is either too blurry or patterned.
Would appreciate recommendations for a decent retro/pixelated/vaporwave icon set.
Same guy, finished with my desktop finally.
What do you all think?
Spotify players pretty much all need a little bit of editing, you need to change them to use SpotifyPlugin.dll
Here's an example of a modified Cleartext (Spotify version)
I also modified it to hide when it's not in use, can be removed by removing the ones under 'Shit I added'.
That's a lot of shit pinned to your bar, if your PC is good enough I'd probably suggest downloading some sort of dock and throwing the tab stuff and most of the desktop stuff onto it unless you actually like it that way.
Finding good desktops like that is pretty tough indeed
6.5/10 like the game
Looks okay but that's generally the point of Enigma making things that just look 'okay', I'd suggest checking OPs Windows-links for some more rainmeter options.
he's using a window manager called i3wm. its a tiling wm that allows you to make tiled, floating, stacked, or tabbed window setups, almost entirely with changeable keybinds. It looks fairly intimidating at first but is extremely well documented. i3wm.org/docs should have everything you need. that said if you plan to switch to using only a WM from using a full DE/WM, you'll probably be initially confused about how to do some of the small things the DE used to handle for you. look up each problem as you go (probably on the arch wiki or your respective distro) and figure it out.
i recommend getting the i3 meta package (i3-wm most places? iirc), and then trying it out by entering it through lightdm or whatever login manager you have.
Alternatively, there's probably an openbox theme that has borders instead of window decorations. w/e. hope that helps
looks like shit. still a work in progress. anyone know of a good rainmeter skin that has a side bar? i dont really like rocketdock. im still struggling to learn how to make my own in my little bit of free time.
How different is ubuntu when compared with windows 10? I'm thinking of changing but I don't want to accidentally ruin my pc
The only things that are better on Windows compared to Ubuntu is much easier usage with gaming (not to mention games run better on windows since games are most optimized for it), and torrenting is easier (from my experience). Other than that there's no reason to switch to Windows 10, but if you can help it, get Windows 7 it's 1000 times better than 10.
Morning /wg/, The startpage isn't mine but matched my colors :^)
Torrents are the exact same in linux...

Hey guys, I've riced once before on an old crap laptop that I was stuck with just for kicks and it came out pretty well. I just finished building my own desktop and have thought about ricing it as well, but while I was reading the info on nanami-tan to refresh myself I came across a warning for UltraUXThemePatcher that stated that it could potentially " lead to unexpected problems or total breakdown of Windows". I was just wondering how true and likely this is to happen. I'm a little hesitant since I installed my current windows 8.1 off of a flashdrive, and not the "legit" way of buying it and knowing everything was in working order straight out of the box. Basically what could potentially go wrong while using the Theme Patcher, and even later on down the road? I want to say I'm just being a worry wart, but I figured it would be better to ask anyways so that I can know exactly what the reality is. Thanks in advance!
how do I get rid of the custom theme "close", "minimize" etc window?
Sorry I dont have time to rate. But here is my current desktop after purchasing two extra monitors for myself
Been working on this on and off for a couple days. Anyone got some tips on what to add or change?
