I apologize if any of these are duplicates but I will dump my folder
Reminds me of my youth..
My father worked as a doctor for a cruise line when I was a teenager. They weren't shitty Carnival cruises either.. They were high end ships.. smaller than the one in the picture, and passengers were mainly comprised of older folks. Most of the dinners were formal attire only. Only the very rich could afford a ticket.
This was pretty much a dream come true for me because I loved Star Trek ever since I was a kid. I've watched every episode from all every series except the animated. I'm not your typical 4chan neckbeard though: 6'2", 9/10 looks, 150lb, S:3 P:7 E:3 C:6 I:5 A:7 L:10
I saw more of the world than most people before I even turned 18 for free. My family is pretty wealthy but not 1%. We couldn't afford to buy a ticket for one of these cruises if we wanted too.
Food was excellent. Service was amazing (Filipinos lol). It was awesome.
The best part by far was meeting new people my age though. Made a lot of great friends.
The summer before my college education started I knew I was going to be on my last cruise. On the last night I chugged almost a third of a little bottle of Smirnoff and blacked out.
Woke up the next morning with puke on my pillow and complaints from passengers. My parents were PISSED. Apparently I stumbled onto the poop deck drunk as fuck and interrupted a couple being scammed by De Beers. The woman was like 60 or something though, so I have no fucking idea why anyone was proposing to her in the first place. Anyways, drunk me and a few other friends I met on the ship pretty much ruined their "special moment" and filed a complaint saying they would never go on the cruise line again, ect. and I got banned from going on that cruise line because I was technically "staff" even though I was just a passenger like everyone else. They would have ignored the complaint if I was just an ordinary passenger. Dad still works for the cruise line thankfully and he loves his work.
Haven't been on a cruise since.
