Make the Windows 10 search bar as small as possible.

But Photoshop, Winrar, Chrome, Mod Manager etc on the Taskbar and delete the shortcuts.
You want to have 1 or 2 icons on your desktop.
Recycling Bin and maybe a folder.

Get rid of all your Steam shortcuts, they're pointless since you can just open them from Steam. If you play them frequently, you can just bind the Steam icon so that it doesn't get hidden in the popup arrow and you can right click to see your recently played games. Take the rest of your icons and divide them into labeled folders, then make or get icons to customize the folders. Don't put the folders on the side, line them up against the top or bottom (or both). Programs that you use frequently you should bind to the start menu.

Depends on how you use the Start menu. I use it frequently to launch Steam games and specific functions of applications, so Classic Start's customization is nice. But it's not necessary, and if you don't need it then it's better not to bother with it.

Thanks man. The trash is hidden from the desktop and I have it pinned with my quick access folders in the file explorer. I know it's sometimes more convenient to have them on the desktop but if I'm being completely honest, I had a MacBook for a long period of time in college so I'm used to treating the desktop different just inherently and I end up treating the taskbar more like a Mac's dock whereas most Windows users use the desktop as their launch pad for apps.

Follow these steps to desktop like a pro:

1... Hide Cortana, show all tray icons and close all the ones you don't absolutely need.

2... Get that shit off your desktop. Delete the steam game links and use steam to launch them, put some of that shit in your documents, pictures, music folders, etc... Pin anything you need quick access to on your taskbar, anything else can be pinned to your start menu. Leave the recycle bin ONLY.
3.. Lurk on /wg and /w, browse wallhaven for a few days, and get yourself a healthy collection of 100+ papes with the appropriate aspect ratio for your monitor. Set them to autorotate ever X minutes.

Well done, your desktop doesn't look like a toddler's anymore.

Hide taskbar, and either hide the icons or put them in a folder, away from the desktop. Remove recycle bin and whatnot. Get Rainmeter, download a few rainmeter skins, edit them however you like, and you're set

Anyone have any experience with RainMeter?

I am same guy as >>6459928 and see attached how my desktop is now looking, but that white bar should be allowing me to edit file locations (like steam) and have clickable text (was hoping to find an all in one package but can't) but it doesn't seem to work, I know my default locations Steam is C:/Steam/Steam.exe but never seems to accept it and add it to the bar.

Get rid of the search bar.
Hide the trash bin and download Minibin.
Clear your taskbar and put all your icons in the Start menu. If there's too many that you use often, put them in a folder and put that folder in your documents, then right click the taskbar > select "Unlock". Right click the taskbar again > go to "Taskbar" > "New Taskbar" and select the folder you put your stuff in. Drag the new taskbar shortcut all the way to the right and lock your taskbar again.
