Whats more satisfying? Inserting a cartridge into a console like a genesis or n64, or inserting a disc into something like a Playstation or Saturn?
>>

Carts are superior and when future alien civilizations find ours they will still be able to play them

You can do both with the sega CD.
And double insertion with the 32x.

Slamming an armored cartridge into a console is way more satisfying than slowly and carefully inserting a disc into a tray so that it doesn't get scratched

You could play fucking soccer with a cartridge as a kid and that fucker would still work just fine if you just shook it off a wee bit afterwards

even more satisfying that inserting, there is nothing better than a nice smooth eject function...

At the cost of the worst digital pad in history. Seriously that shit was vestigial.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. I'd say playing games off of a CD then DVDs later on felt cooler than slamming a grey piece of plastic into the console.
>>

>You could play fucking soccer with a cartridge as a kid and that fucker would still work just fine if you just shook it off a wee bit afterwards

And you could play Frisbee with a CD and as long as it did not end up with pieces chipped off, it would most likely work. I have a Saturn CD that has a crack in the inner ring that spans across half the disc; and it is still read fine in the console.

So sad that minidisc was outdone so soon by mass availability of HDD and Flash memory. Fucking ipods.

I've been wishing for them to bring back minidiscs with blu-ray capacity for so long, but it'll never happen.

It depends on your tastes sonny.

Cartridges have that sexy, firm hunk of plastic you know you can rely on, you know they can take some strain and live with it.
They're solid, come in with either round or straight angles and edges, which is a plus if you like variety.
Putting them in is satisfying because you just need to firmly J-J-J-Jam them in and you feel that tight response from the console which is ever so good, that clack sound is pretty damn sexy too even after all these years, me and your mom still remember all those nights we spent putting cartridges in and out, in and out no stop.

CDs though, oh boy.
CDs have the charm of a virgin girl at her first night, they're frail, cute and you need to be gentle with them, like real gentle, you need to take care of them too, they're like one of those frail but gentle girls in your chinese cartoons.
Once you look at their behind though...no cartridges can compare with that shining butt, and the variety of colours on that, simply astounding.
Their central hole is very titillating too and that soft click when you put them in, MMMMHHHHHHH...

But again sonny, it all comes down to personal tastes and deviancies, when you'll grow up you'll understand.

Inserting a cartridge is much more satisfying then placing a CD on a tray.
HOWEVER.
On certain systems/computers, opening/closing the actual CD tray is just as much if not more satisfying.

Don't even get me started on the sound certain machines make when reading disks.
>>
>>2905659
>Don't even get me started on the sound certain machines make when reading disks.

You mean Dreamcast's Soundtrack from Disc-Raping Hell?

Carts. With discs I always have to be careful not to touch the back. And the majority of my top 10 games are on carts.

CD caddies were amazing, I made a thread about them on /g/ recently and plenty of people have nostalgia for them. I seriously wish that at least one company would make a modern one with dvd/br support. I'd use the shit out of it.

I bet the most satisfying insertion has got to be Neo Geo carts. They're so big and they have that double PCB going on. Thick, solid, tight connection. Probably feels orgasmic putting one of those in.

Didn't you still need to take them out of the caddie? Or am I thinking of clamshells?
Because CD's, DVD's and BD's all have the same size and design.
