If nothing else, it seems to me it's better than ARMS. Love the art and the music but goddamn do they need to allow you to set the controls yourself. Whoever thought not allowing us to set our own controls and then putting block on the left stick click should be fired and then re-hired and fired again. And again about a dozen more times after that.

It'd work too because they're clearly heavily retarded as that decision demonstrates so they'd never see the firing coming each time and would gladly accept being brought back in.

the story mode is a bit monotonous. you have to fight like 20 battles to go up a rank and progress through the story. I wouldve preferred an old-fashioned arcade playthrough, but nope. Online mode was pretty active though

I'm honesty super interested in all five of the new characters, especially Scizor and Emploeon.

In Wii U I played mostly Weavile with some Machamp on the side, I'll probably keep maining those two and try to learn one of the new ones.

dont usually play fighters but sometimes i find it more engaging and I don't have to commit so much time to it. I can play it every now and then. pokken is fun for me and my friends

Pokken's fun, but unless you actually put the effort in and try to get into it seriously, you'll be dissapointed. There's barely any single player or casual content/replay value.

It's like any other competitive fighting game: You take out what you put in.

The online matchmaking is still active, and it's at pretty much FGC major in north america: It's been at or is scheduled for final round, NCR, CEO, frosty faustings, dreamhack austin, atlanta, and denver, thefallclassic, winter brawl, NEC; Summerjam, and Defendthenorth. It gets decent entrant numbers too, being on par with uMvC3 and GG at CEO, and there are a decent amount of locals for the game.

Where do people keep getting this meme that the scene is dead from? It's about as alive as any FGC title that's not smash, SF, Injustice, or Tekken.

I play GG and BB and I can't really get into 3D fighters. Roster looks pretty alright though and the Switch changes make it look better for having the homies over and only having 1 console. Game looks pretty fun though, if I had a Switch I'd pick it up when it comes out.

Pokken is actually way, way more of a traditional 2d fighter then a 3d one. The 3d shit is pretty much just glorified anti-infinite mechanic, all the meat of the combat system is in the 2d phase

The competitive community essentially agrees that the game is extremely balanced and every character (except maybe crogunk, but even then that's a maybe) is viable even at top level play, so there's no really agreed upon tier list due to how balanced it is.

The only consistent opinion for exact placements is that braixen, mewtwo, weavile, and lucario are at the top, and crogunk, gardevoir, and chandelure are at the bottom. Other then that, and the fact that the gap between every character is pretty small, there's not that much agreement.
