Whenever I see a Blissey in a gym I check if there's any other gyms in walking distance that might be easier to take out.

Depends though. Sub-2500 they're fine. If they're close to 3000 though I might ignore the gym. Also because a bit of extra lag might get you to time out, wasting your two minutes.

Literally any other defender doesn't matter though. 500 or 3000 CP, who cares. Attackers also don't matter much, just get your STAB moves and your type advantages and you're fine. The system's that dumb.

Why do battles run so badly? The rest of the game runs fine, but as soon as a gym battle starts it goes to sub 5 fps.

I was a solo player before and, like a lot of people, only started playing with a group so I could catch Level 4 and 5 Raid bosses.

I was pretty surprised to discover that it's standard for people to show up at Raids with multiple phones, multiple accounts, openly spoofing and showing off their spoofing apps and Pokedex with a dozen Unowns and all the regionals from both generations.

Take today for example. I waked over to a raid in a nearby city park on my lunch break. A guy was sitting on a bench proudly showing off that he was playing on one phone for himself and another for his wife.

I asked him what level his wife was, just to make small talk. "Oh, we're both 40," he said. as I were an idiot to even ask.. "Wow, congrats!," I said. He yawned and took another drag on his cigarette, while sitting directly under a "No Smoking Anywhere in the Park" sign.

I asked him if he'd caught them all yet. "Oh of course. All the regionals and a ton of unowns, too," he replied. Then he showed me the spoofing app he had running on both of his devices. "You're spoofing?" I said. "Damn right," he replied, blowing some more smoke in my face.

I kept my mouth shut, but this type of player is not atypical. People show up at Raids playing on two phones because their spouse, child or friend "can't come to the Raid" because he/she is working/sleeping/doesn't want to go outside/loves it when I bring him home Pokemon, etc. Or spoofing so they can hit multiple gyms while never leaving their couch.

Get a phone case, put three or four layers of tin foil inside it, before you even start. Eliminates all rubberbanding (depending on your device, obviously). My spoofing experience has become buttery smooth since I bothered to put tin foil in my tablet case.
