Are nests still the same as they were at release where most if not all of the mons you get from them have shit IVs?

Does your motivation to catching certain Pokemon dies down when you get one with ~95%-100% IV?

I've no longer prioritized catching Jynx ever since I found out the one I caught last year had perfect IVs. I now catch one only if I have nothing easier to catch around me (screw you, crows and monkeys).

Appraisals never changed the fact that you keep around high IV Pokemon especially when dust is plentiful. Appraisals were a quality of life improvement and also saved you from wasting dust+candy on trying to narrow down IV ranges which was nice.

You farm shitmons for candy.
You use the candy to boost up your good hatches/catches.

Finally hatched enough eggs to get my first Ampharos to add to my attacker lineup, and Hanke bless us all, I got Thunder as the charge move. That's good because I only have Fast TMs because raids never drop TMs for me

I have exactly one Quick TM I can use if I need to. Do I want Charge Beam or Volt Switch as the quick move?

DPS charts seem to prefer Volt Switch even for attacking but goddamn, I hated Volt Switch on my Jolteons because despite charging energy nicely, it is impossible to dodge without sacrificing some quick attacks because I'm always unsure when the next charge move is coming at me and desync doesn't help.

Is Volt Switch actually better than Charge Beam? Do I just keep it as-is?

Well considering prestige isn't a thing anymore there's no incentive to kill Dragonite with level 20 Cloyster anymore. A 2500 CP Articuno that has the same attacks as a 2200 CP Lapras will kill the Dragonite faster and more efficiently, simultaneously dealing out more damage and taking less (so there's even a slight incentive to potentially save healing items by using Articuno).

If you think of legendaries solely as attackers, their high CP caps are really the only good things about the shittier legendaries like Suicune.

Okay, I am so burned out from this event.

Seems like I almost collected 1.5 mil exp from just this week. Fuck, that's like 20 non-event evo sprees since my phone can only handle ~75 evos per spree. I think I just made up for the past half year of demotivated laziness. If we get one or two more of these double exp events, I'm probably going to hit 37 before the end of the year.

Now I have 500k dust to spend but I don't know what to spend it on. It's a tossup between my good Alakazam, Machamp, or Golem for some solo lv 3 raiding, or wait to see if I get a Tyranitar or legendary with non-shit IVs.

Curveball is a 1.7x multiplier, razz berry is a 1.5x multiplier, nice/great/excellent are 1.1x/1.2x/1.3x multipliers respectively. Great ball is 1.5x, ultra is 2x.

All of these multipliers stack (so curve ultra ball with berry and "excellent" throw) is 6.63x more likely to catch than a straight poke ball with no berry.

After the first day or two you aren't gonna find enough Raid partners (even in major cities) to take down a Raid unless you're in somewhere crazy like Disneyland or Central Park. Psychic/Dazzling Gleam are both better coverage for a Normal type defender I'm pretty sure.

I live a few blocks down from a small park. The park never had spawns except by the edge that touches the river.

I changed it in Open Street Map like 3 months ago and now I check today and it's a Chickorita nest. I'm camping it right now to see how many pop up. So far 6 within the last 35 minutes or so.

When that happens you have to completely close out the app. When it crashes it wants to restart and it will just keep crashing if you let it. You have to force close it completely then restart it and it should work.

What if gyms were type limited? The first Pokemon would determine the type - a Snorlax would make it a Normal gym that can only have Normal-type defenders and such. Each type would get different types of defender bonuses, such as higher Stamina, higher Attack, higher Defense, faster attack speed, bonus energy gain, starting with energy, etc.

Ok. I missed the Pokémon Go hype last year since I was using a phone that wasn't compatible. Just got an android phone and I quickly downloaded Pokémon Go, but even if I'm liking it so far, I have a question:

On which Pokémon should I spend the candies to strengthen it? On the one on which the in-game appraisal by the team leader is good or, as mentioned in one of GameFAQs faqs, the ones that have the dot in the white semicircle on their information screen closest to the right?

For example, I have my starter Charmander and one I caught later in the wild. My starter has the dot I mentioned before all the way to the left, but on the appraisal, the Team Leader said it was exceptionally good on all of its stats. On the other hand, the Charmander I caught has the dot 4/5ths of the way of reaching the right side of the circle, but the appraisal stated that it basically sucked, only being respectable on its defense stat.

So, which one should I give the candies to and which one should I transfer to the professor to get more candies?

I'm a lowly level 23 with nothing of any value to attack or stick in Gyms yet.

Could this make a solid Wigglytuff? Is Wigglytuff even good enough to hold its own for very long currently?

Also, any advise on building a team of solid attackers? Where do I start besides lucking out on a good IV Pokemon.

Ouch.
In reality, IVs don't matter that much. The difference between a 100% and an 80% is almost negligible, especially at lower levels. My advice? Just aim for 80%+ and go from there. Good movesets are more important than good IVs anyway (and you can fix bad movesets with TMs now, rare as they be).

First, you won't catch anything worth evolving until level 20 at the very earliest.
Second, team up with someone of a different team, beat a gym of the third team together, then pass the gym back and forth with weak mons to get easy XP and coins. AFAIK, that tactic still works with the new gyms.

Save the candies of everything except for Pidgies and worms. Those you evolve for the XP and then trash. I reiterate, when you get into the 20s, nothing you caught in the teens will be worth evolving.

What you want in a pokemon are good stats and high CP. You have a better chance of finding good pokemon from eggs, which cap at level 20 and give you many candies. In general, anything your Team Leader says is "strong" or "the best" is a solid choice. You shouldn't power up basic stuff like Geodude though, it makes more sense to just power up Golem, same for other stuff you mentioned like Ekans and Snubbull.

Get Wigglytuff for the pokedex then trash it. It's useless.

Get a sense of the top attackers (Dragonite, Rhydon, Tyranitar, etc) and accumulate the candy. Don't evolve until you get a good IV one. Only power up your attackers (no more than 8-10 guys) and a couple of defenders (aka Snorlax and Blissey). Keep catching shit mons for stardust.
