We all agreed we need to set something up for raids to organise better, all the social media accounts for our local PoGo group died in september of last year and everyone sorta limped along not really interacting with anyone outside of their circles.

Got articuno on my third raid today

Not the best IV but so happy. Only 1-2 people per 12-15 people at each raid seemed to get one

If I get to a legendary raid tomorrow, I won't have a perfect team for anything.
My Tyranitar has iron tail and stone edge, but so far I haven't gotten any fast TM to teach it bite.

Just got back from wandering around the city doing some raids:

1. Articuno. Not enough people around to beat it.
2. Articuno. Easily won, but didn't catch it.
3. Articuno. Easily won, but didn't catch it.
4. Lugia. Won (despite having forgotten to heal up from the previous raid), and caught it on the first ball.

So, all in all, successful I guess? I had to shell out the coins for two extra raid passes, but I did come away from it with a Lugia, so I guess it was worthwhile.

Go for things that aren't weak to ice, and at least have high DPS even without being super effective.
Water/Ice types happen to 4x resist ice so they can survive a lot longer, and Lapras does neutral damage making it a survivor.
You can't go wrong with Tyranitar with Bite/Stone Edge or maybe Iron Tail/Stone Edge.
Fire types are very useful.

I've used several things. strong fire types like arcanine and flareon work best. In case of emergency just spam tyranitars.

Always keep a blissey or snorlax on your 6th slot so you don't faint all your pokemon, have to rejoin and lose your damage bonus.

Help. The only pokestops near me have started giving me less than half of what they used to. I now have fuckall for pokeballs.

Do legendary Pokemon have any IV minimums, like other raid Pokemon seem to? I don't think I've ever gotten a raid Pokemon with less than the top-level appraisal, but the Lugia I caught is a level below that, apparently at 11/11/10.

Not that I'm too concerned about it, as I'm pretty lucky just to have managed to get a Lugia (on the first ball!). I'm just trying to figure out if these are good stats for a completely random IV spread, or relatively low stats for a Pokemon guaranteed to be somewhere in the upper ranges.

Very patiently went for curve balls with golden razz berries.
I got 11 premier balls.
First throw escaped.
Second throw deflected.
Third throw escaped.
Fourth throw caught.
Didn't manage to get a great/nice on it or anything, just curve.

Yeah, I had a weird glitchy Articuno battle also. Midway through the battle I backed out to heal, then rejoined. But when I rejoined, all of my Pokemon just immediately did the fainting animation one after the other and I kept getting the "all of your Pokemon have fainted screen," despite them all being at full health (and staying at full health after the fainting screen).

So I just kept exiting, reentering, and fainting over and over hoping it would at least give me a shot at catching Articuno when everyone else finished the battle, but when the battle ended it just froze. So I just closed out of the game and restarted, thinking I was just out of luck, but then when it reloaded it put me right into the capture battle.

And of course I didn't catch it. But at least I got the EXP/items/etc. despite the fainting weirdness.

When it attacks, there's two parts of the animation.
The initial part where the capture ring disappears, and the transition to idle animation where the capture ring is back.
This is generally the safest time to make a throw, during the wind-down it's very unlikely to start dodging or attacking.
You throw before the ring would re-appear mind you, it is a tight window and takes pratice.

I evolved a 14/14/13 Alakazam with Psycho Cut and Future Sight today so I'm pretty happy about that. I caught it as a Kadabra too I think.

Lugia: Lost hard first try because it was just my wife and I, and then three vans of Valor rolled in and parked in the middle of bumfuck nowhere park. We fight again with them with 5 minutes left on the raid and we wreck it.
I only had four balls to catch Lugia, but managed to get it on a super stressful 4th throw. Wife's phone disconnected while trying to catch it and she didn't get it, making her super pissy and wanting to give up.

Articuno: was in the middle of a mall food court, there were fucking eighty people crowding around, we ended up in seperate battling groups both full, I ended up with six balls, but didn't manage to get it while two or three in my set did, she caught hers and was the only one in her set to catch it, making her super smug on the way home.

All in all, I'd say we still like the game, and it was kinda fun to interact with so many other players.

Let us solo Lvl 3-4-5 raids by removing time limit so we have to suffer and use a ton of items if we wanna do it. Forcing co-op play isn't feasible unless you're having events every second.
