Honestly, what they did with her this episode was better handled than her previous episodes. Here she legitimately worked on overcoming her fear and managing to touch this particular Pokemon, while earlier we've just had her instinctively touch a Pokemon in the spur of the moment and then magically getting cured of her fear THREE times in a row.

The problem is just that "Lillie manages to touch another Pokemon" isn't something you can write a very interesting episode around, which is the key problem with her character.

I thought I wasn't mad anymore. I thought everything was the past and I could look back at it with, if anything, bitter satisfaction.
But I just rewatched excerpts from the Diantha fight, the League and all, and a hatred surged inside of me. A disappointment-layered hatred because of the FUCKING WASTE XY&Z turned out to be with the second part of the finals onwards.
You can feel the writers pushing the "no fun allowed anymore" button. As in "you've enjoyed yourself enough until now, but we're running short on time and you have to face cold harsh reality". All those side stories reduced to nothingness, all this journey's fruits burnt until nothing remains, all those characters you had to part with in the most unsatisfying way, all this horrible Zygarde drama. Just thinking back at it, I remember how my joy turned to ashes in my mouth.
So, yes: I am still MAD.

Most gens are like that. Pikachu pulls the team for the first year or so while the new mons get stronger, then they start taking over. It's generally preferable to acting like a newly caught shitmon is just as strong as Pikachu a week later.

Both the totem battle and the Grand Trial are "okay", but as this gen's version of gym battles people really want them to be more than just that. They're a colossal step down from what we're used to from XY.

He'll collect the crystals that match up with his SM team and Totem Pokemon that could give him Crystals for those Pokemon. I think we're going to see more of Ash aquiring crystals from the Totem Pokemon similar to Gumshooes handing Ash Normalium so that he can have a wider set of Totem Pokemon he can fight.
