They're chapters not collected into the minivolumes.

They're normally collected into the main volumes, but because B2W2 is still ongoing. XY never had its entire chapters collected. Only the main plot chapters.

There are 7 additional chapters.
3 are related to the XY Gang.
4 are related to Korrina.

They all take place before Chapter 15, so you're not missing much. They're not necessary to the series, they just add more lore. Almost like throwaway chapters except that Y gets her Eevee in one of these chapters that later appears in the a main plot chapter a few times.

So if you never read the side story chapters, it'll just be: "oh she has a sylveon now. when did she get that?" and that's about it.

In America, VIZ got the rights to the side-story chapters and implemented it in their minivolumes for BW.

But due to legal crap and the fact that the side chapters come out on their own, and out of order for XY, VIZ decided not to collect it in their English releases of XY.

Likewise for Japan, they decided not to release it in a collected book because it was released out of order in the timeline of the series, and they will wait until B2W2 finished to implement it that content.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a "Pokespe XY: Side Story Vol. 1" where it just briefly mentions that this takes place before chapter [here], Comic books do that all the time. But I suppose buying 7 giant magazines that are out of circulation for over 2-3 years is good too. :(

Thanks! My cotranslator was upset because the chapter was out at 2am in Japan, and quickly went back to bed after we finished the chapter.

I think Genesect will thaw out and break out with the berry, and then warm them up to dethaw. I don't think those berries would have any effect on humans.
