Nah, Rowlet and Litten are around the same, even though Rowlet did do damage to Rockruff, it still did some mistakes and took damage itself, it also goofed at the beginning, Litten is more cautious, the scratch might not have connected, it wasn't shown to hit Rockruff, but he did well not to take any damage himself, outside the fight with Persian in SM7, Litten has not taken any damage at all from any attack.

After Serena's rise and fall arc she gets a redesign to physically show the change. If Serena had lost more than once when she broke down and there wasn't a rushed ending then sure. Sadly however the ending was rushed as fuck and left me wanting more than I got. DP's contest arc didn't do that, and we also saw DP rivals winning.

Tobias came out of nowhere with a team of legendaries as the literal personification of a deus ex machina. Alan we got to see all of his development and how he and Charizard got so strong. No, I'm a waifufag. They came up with all these designs and didn't use them enough because they rushed through the last few Tripokalons and Master Class. Another thing regarding the comparison between XY and DP leagues - In terms of body language, I think XY Ash was way more confident than his DP self. He was recognized and depicted as a strong trainer from the beginning of the XY league, and you could really see it though his behavior, and I liked that.
I think the XY league was great, however its biggest flaw was its acceleration. It was rushed straight to the Semi-Finals and you couldn't feel the progress Ash did. Personally I really wanted to see the full battle of Ash vs Astrid

The very beginning and tail-end of Johto has a lot of good eps, it's really just the whole middle that was a disaster. There were still some funny episodes like the Brock/Temacu episode, the TR/Wobbufett fillers, and the few that focused on Ash's pokemon. What brings Johto down overall besides the fillers is how lackluster Ash's Johto team turns out, Misty is a bore for most of it, and the recurring characters like Gary and Casey barely show up or have any relevance.

It wasn't exactly like that though. Gladion isn't exactly edgy he's just distant, he was more friendly towards Ash in the end, same thing with Lycanroc at first appeared to be quite feral but then he was like best buds with Rockruff.

Man, the last couple of SM episodes have been great. Litten's capture episode because the dog died, the Gladion ep, and now this baseball ep. The Sophocles ep wasn't good but the others have been fantastic.

It's not really. Some eps are good and some are boring, same as any past season. Ash has the same number of pokemon (a team of 4) that he has at any season at the beginning. Gladion obviously functions as the rival this season. Only difference is Ash's goal seems to barely exist.
