Introducing better ways to fuel energy disruption and punish item use as a way to deal with turbo decks was like introducing cane toads to kill crop pests. Turbo decks are actually still okay because they're among the only decks that can accelerate fast enough to deal with constant energy disruption while marginal decks that already had issues setting up fast enough end up even slower and easier to punish.

We're basically headed for a one attachment/obnoxiously fast turbo big basic/stage 1 only meta that is ironically even more fast paced than what we had in the EX 2.0 era. Look at the insane shit they're printing to keep up with this energy disruption, look at fucking kiawe lmao. If you're not running a water deck, a Yveltal deck or heavy disruption a t1 Kiawe onto something like Ho-oh GX or Flareon-EX is basically game over.

How do you guys organize your collections/ what is the best way to do so.

There are a bunch of ways to do it, some better than others, so what do you guys do for your cards. The different ways I can think of are
>separated by type
>organized by rarity
>chronologically by set
>pokedex number

My way is a little autistic but hear me out

>then ordered by HP
>cards that have same HP go to typebreaker
>total sum of all attacks' damages
>cards that have same HP and sum go to another tiebreaker
>highest attack damage
>cards that have same HP, attack sum, and highest attack go to yet another tiebreaker
>attack effects (status condition>heal card>et cet...)
>any tie at this point is decided by my own personal preference
>cards put in stacks of 100 and placed in a box
>type with highest number of cards goes in box first

Anyways, I just sorted through my massive collection of base-neo discovery commons. Last time I went into the box I was a kid. Pulled out about 12 rares that got sorted in there by mistake including 3 computer searches, a lass, and a shitload of those garbage gym leader cards. Also threw out a bunch of damaged cards, no sense in keeping anything less than good condition when it's commons I have 2 playsets of.

Honestly the best looking cards are all in team rocket. I pulled a couple uncommons out to put in the back of my binder just 'cause I like the way they look.

When I began, I used to play a deck that used the 3 legendary birds plus Lugia, with no EXs whatsoever. Even then, I would win about 50% of the time, because I was paired with other shitty decks.

It literally works against you about half of the time on vs ladder. Play private matches enough and you notice the difference in how the rng works, and it's still way different than real life shuffles which are effectively random.

I get what I consider to be a 'one in fifty' brick every 10 games in PTCGO. I get a 'one in a hundred' brick every other day or so. Then I get absolutely absurd bricks that I have never seen before in 18 years of playing this game on and off at least once a week. I'm talking 4 vs seeker 3 sycamore tier, I'm talking getting a hand of 6 basic energy and a basic in a deck that only runs 6 basic energy.

I still have a winrate in the high 60s/low 70s on most of my decks with more than 50 games, doesn't mean the RNG isn't working against me considering I have a similar w/l ratio against some people at locals who are leagues better than the random brazilians running janky shit on ladder.

Sylveon basically loses to Volcanion automatically if they don't have Vaporeon AOR. The Japanese standard version of the deck can run head ringers for that matchup but Volcanion forces it to attack or get steamrolled.

Most decks are designed specifically to avoid bricking. Good ones anyway. Doesn't stop the game from fucking you though, it has a nasty habit of putting all copies of a card together within 10 cards. I've lost tourneys back to back due to all copies of my main attacker or support being prized, for instance.

Just the other day I played a game with 9 energy in my deck and after IIRC 4 Ns and me Sycamoring twice I saw not one, then I used a mail and saw 4 in a row. I still won the match, but it was a favorable matchup for me and my only chance to lose was not to find any energy for 5 turns.

A bad hand is having to use a lysandre or a hex maniac as my t1 supporter because I have no sycamore or ultra balls and have to hope I can slow the game down. A bad hand is one where I end up skipping an attachment on my first turn. Things like this can be played around.

An improbably bad hand is 5 unusable late game items (vs seekers, super rods, stretchers ect) and a sycamore, or nothing but tech supporters and a shaymin that I can only play for 1 card. Basically a hand where I not only play a suboptimal turn 1, but I literally cannot accomplish anything at all while my opponent gets to play hoopa/shaymin solitaire until he has 20 cards left in his deck.

I haven't ran any Professor Sycamore and it's worked out for me--I instead run 2 Delinquent, which can help out a lot for disruption. I've been going back and forth and copies of Silent Lab, and I'm really unsure. Everything else I think is fine, though 2 copies of Lysandre really helps with stalling or comboing with Plea GX

Add a delinquent, a kukui and either 2 parallel city.

No delinquent is the biggest problem with this list, also running sycamore, you do not want to draw through this deck, you want to draw out and use what you need. But delinquent is just too good in this deck, you can hit them with stadium after stadium and stop them from ever getting any momentum.

Vaporeon AOR is an option over one of the parallel cities to deal with Volcanion, which is a matchup where you have to attack or you will usually lose. Kukui helps in a lot of situations where you need to attack, particularly against 1 prize recovery cards like babyvolc and yveltal xy.

God I'm so sick of the Switch meme. This cancer will never leave the game and that's infuriating.
