Some people nowadays will never know how popular Ash/May was in the early 2000's. There was a time it rivaled Pokeshipping in the first half of AG. The younger people of today will never know this.

The Sun/Moon anime depresses me. Feels like the last 20 years watching Pokemon was for nothing.

It's actually gotten to the point where I want to give BW a proper watch over SM. I've watched about 60ish random BW episodes (I skipped around watching the better episodes when it aired), but the saga overall is 143 episodes long so that means there's around 50 more episodes I've never seen.

I never thought I'd see the day where a saga of pokemon would make BW look goo.

Just got to episode 10. It was the first proper Trainer battle of the series, so I was somewhat looking forward to it. And what the actual fuck was this bullshit? You call this a fucking battle? First the retarded *teleports behind you* shit, but at least Rowlet had Type advantage, so it wasn't a complete asspull. But then Pikachu fights Hariyama and it is bullshit of the highest degree.

First Hariyama blocks all of Pikachu's moves. Makes sense, this old faggot has been training for decades. This should be nothing much. Then Pikachu gets beaten up with Arm Thrust, it hits like a thousands times, but does virtually no damage. In fact, Ash just say "dodge" is enough to get out of the situation, so why the fuck did it receive the beating? Then Pikachu gets in his first hit, Thunderbolt, and it does nothing.
Now, Hariyama does Belly Drum, and uses All-Out Pummeling. The same Pikachu who couldn't dodge Arm Thrust with max HP can now dodge a fucking Z-move, much faster and literally unblockable move. The fuck? And it gets hit once, but even with Belly Drum and previous damage, it survives just fine. This is just bullshit.

Next, Ash tells Pikachu to use H-HAYAI Quick Attack to circle around Hariyama, and for the next few seconds, everyone just stands there and looks at it, doing absolutely nothing. Ash moves again, and tells Pikachu to Iron Tail, and again, everyone just stands there doing nothing. When it hits Hariyama, they just go N-NANI?! about it. What the fuck were you expecting, then? And Hala still does nothing but stand there. Ash moves again, and this time uses his Z-move, and Hala is still just standing there doing nothing. It KOs Hariyama, who should have less taken less damage then Pikachu, so that was even more bullshit.

This is retarded. It was nothing but plot armor. Let's not even mention the fangirl, Tapu Koko herself. All of this is bullshit. Fuck Kalos, Unova or Sinnoh League. This is more bullshit than all of them combined.

Hariyama is a slow bulky guy, it was already in disadvantage since the start against a fast Pokémon like Pikachu.

You know it's normal in the anime to be able to evade/block moves with your own when you can, it's a real battle, not a game.
You can't use moves recklessly.
Hariyama was able to hit Pikachu with Arm Thrust because of an "opening" ; landing after using Electro Ball.
For Hariyama, searching for openings is kinda the only option...with also the Z-Move.

After taking the Thunderbolt of Pikachu, Hala knew it was time to finish it because they were not going to act recklessy again and will take their distance to finish it little by little if it was needed...So he used Belly Drum + All-out Pummeling.
It's not Arm Thrust, it's a fucking strong fast big ranged attack with a lot of hits, with that power boost...one hit is enough to stop you on place and finish you with all the remaining hits.
The only option for Pikachu was to get a "speed boost" with Quick Attack to avoid it the maximum, with that move they only took the very end of the Z-move and so were able to endure it.

After using the Z-Moves and not finishing Pikachu, it was kinda the end for him ; lack of options.
When Pikachu used Quick Attack to circle around the weakened Hariyama, it had to wait for an opening when it's going to attack or Hariyama was going to take even more damage if it took the risk to trying to hit recklessly the moving Pikachu... it's normal, his fate was already sealed at this point.
Pikachu aimed for the lower parts of the body, making it lose balance.
After, it was easy to finish Hariyama with a Full powered Z-Move.

The pacing was the problem, that's it.
Pikachu landing after using electro ball was too long, Hariyama using Arm Thrust was too long, etc...
Also the lack of damages shown on the body.

There is, my dear anons. The real truth. Slow Pokemon = shit Pokemon. Only fast Pokemon can be strong. The rest are just shit. And don't forget, using Belly Drum means you lose half your health, meaning you can't move for the rest of the battle. Belly Drum immobilizes you. Finally, Z-moves are shit against anything that is able to move. So don't use them, ever.
