We don't actually know if kiddies hating Nozomi is true. It was something I read here, and passed on, so now that's pretty much the accepted reason why she left, but we don't really know if that's why. There are a few hints that it might be though, specifically that she was suddenly Kokoro's best friend without any real build-up, possibly indicating a quick rewrite of the character to promote a better reception. She was also suspiciously missing from a capsule machine set, which featured only 5 toys instead of the usual 6, the 6th having logically been Nozomi if there was one.

I can say that this season at least for now is way better than XY, only DP can compete. The feels who transmitted don't seem forced, in XY they tryed to give us emotive scenes but they disappeared with the wind pretty fast.
Also the girls are by far the cutest.

This episode is a great example on why I love SM way more then XY/XYZ, because It shows Ash can be a dumbass, but he shows he can be serious and have real personality (plus being clever enough to use Pikachus electroball to escape TR) I dont think any episode of XY/XYZ were quite as sad as this one, since they all mostly show Ash being edgy or Serena being an annoying clingy shit. I guess when Ash released Greninja was kind of sad, but not as sad as this SM episode alone. SM is great at balancing serious and funny moments, and its only the begging. Who knows what will lie in store in future episodes. Kalos cant even compare to God tier SM

On top of that, Kaki showcases the Fire Z-Move and there's a possibility the other friends will showcase their respective type Z-Moves.

Litten would likely evolve in a situation where it has to protect Ash or the others, since it's role appears to be going the ace route of SM similar to Froakie evolving into Frogadier and Frogadier to Greninja.

If he does get that Wimpod which I hope he does if it was given a arc similar to Goomy but had 3-4 episodes of consecutive training before it evolved I'd be happy with that. Where it wants to get stronger so it starts doing hardcore training with Ash similar to how Ash trained with Rockruff.

I still believe Ash is going to get Passimian so that there is an evolutionless Pokemon.

Well, todays Litten ep is pretty much best in SM and will be in history of pokeani.
SM020 was nothing special but it was enjoyable.

This episode will just give tumblr more fuel to love SM over XY. They've been rather pro-SM there for a while, and a lot of anti-XY people have been popping up.

Well episode 20 also kinda foreshadowed a potential Wimpod capture, which is quite possible since all important story elements are now on Akala. What kinda bugs me though is that Melemele will still be the "main" island because muh school. Dunno how they will handle the trials then.

The SM series is absolute proof that the anime is actually going in the right direction again even long after Takeshi Shudo left and died. The humor is good again, the writing is stronger, we get actual character development, and the first time an established character has passed on of old age.

In all serious, one of my griped with this the SM series was that the show was too much of a comedy. The humor was often good, but it got repetitive and relied too much on having over-the-top meme faces. The traveling aspect was all but gone, and I felt the show focused too much on throwing out jokes than adding depth. But this episode, and a few recent others, proved me wrong. SM is finding its footing and gearing towards becoming a fun, but also poignant. And todays Litten episode proved that they can handle mature ideas gracefully and without making it feel shoehorned in.

Can we all give the writers a round of applause for handling Stoutland's death and Litten's grief masterfully? The way they compared the falling leaves like a countdown to Stoutland's final hours and its old bed finally giving in is amazing. Not only did it not need to have obvious cues for somebody dying, but it's a subtle way of showing to the younger audiences of the show how life slowly reaches its end. The way they compared Litten's grief to days of rain is also heartwarming to watch, and we know that when the final leaf on Stoutland's old bed got blown away and the sun with a rainbow is up, it was the moment that Litten finally accepted to set-off with Ash. I feel so many emotions in that episode, and honestly, despite the comedic route of the series as a whole, I'm now sure that the writers can handle anything to make this series a bar higher than the rest.

As for the Ash-Pikachu bonding moments, the only thing that really got me there was the Wimpod moment. I mean, it was obviously terrified of anything, but it going back to Ash and thanking him and Pikachu for rescuing it is really a treat to watch.
