M-Aero is actually pretty fucking hard for where you're likely to be at that point in the game if you don't have mucho eventmons. There's no shame in a full item run anon.

Alternatively you can go back and get some S-ranks to get some expert-stage mons on your side, especially Suicune but any of the water or grass starters work too. Klefki and Whimsicott are just subpar comparatively.

If your team is good enough, you can get by on 100 without the AP+. I normally play a stage once itemless to see how far I get and judge which items to use based on that. I think I used M+5, DD, and MS with Megamence/Braviary/Tornadus-T/Uxie and beat it comfortably.
Again, it depends on your team as well. If you don't have ability boosted, max level things like I do, AP+ is probably a good idea.

Depends exactly on what I'm taking into it. If it's 60 BP mons with good skills (ie accelgor/escavalier) that I want some exp on, I'll take in Conk and 1 ghost/30bp neutral shitmon just in case I need a couple of low damage turns. If the two neutrals are 90bp or around that, I'll take instead Hitmonlee, and again a low damage ghost/30bp shitmon. Hitmonlee is a good choice because, if you need to, you can often set up the + on the last turn to get good damage to kill, but should never activate on it's own unlike LDE which can activate on turn 3 before the last coin shows.

From what I understand, in.mobile, how many coins meowth spawns is dependant on it's health, thus, ideally you'll use a shitmon for low damage at first, average mons for medium damage in between coin aligning and a fighting mon with PO4/+ or last ditch effort to secure the kill.

Different guy here and yes. I generally just take anything that needs leveling and one Pokemon with CC/PO4+/Dragon Talon/Risk Taker (Low skill level, you one-shot with the higher ones), or Flash Mob. You can also replace that massive damage dealer for a fighting Pokemon, but for the most part you can easily take shitmons in and have a really powerful one wipe him out once you make the 4/5.

I just usually try to get a strong mon or something with PO4+ if the rest of the team is too weak.
I have better runs with those instead of stron mons, because accidental combos fuck you up big time if you have 2 or more strong mons

That's the reason why it's recommended to go full items (or at least using many items) whenever there's a boss stage. Not only you guarantee a high catch rate (for example Hoopa) but you guarantee the S-rank to never ever come back to do those. It's unavoidable in the end but I agree with your approach, go for quantity instead of quality. Then comeback to those when you have nothing to do and a surpluss of coins.

How far are you in the main stages? If you are around Roseus Center SS Raikou should be best. If like ~500 its no real difference.

It is in Expert Stage, but you need 110 S Ranks in order to unlock that stage. So if you have good SE mons you might as well give it a go and catch it if you are not good with Timed Stages
