I can't agree with this, yes the artstyle in XY were fine like the battles, but, only using 3D backgrounds something that i hated because it's pretty unconfortable when you can see the fucking 2d animation over the awful cgi.
Other thing that i hated it's the limited moves who the characters have.
In my opinion at least, it's better the animation in SM.

Poket Monsters premiered in April 1/1997, It was an Comedy anime, Y'know, One of those animes that you don't watch if you want some action or history, You watch it because you want to Laugh, I liked the 3 Original regions but the Problem started in hoenn in the battle Frontier, BUT UNLIKE XY, I liked that action formula

Pokemon is a franchise of battles but, Outside the leauge and some other battles(Charizard vs Magmar for example) the battle weren't THAT epic, Just compare some random wild battle with Jeanette Fisher(That Bellsprout went Rampant Karen mode), When BF came out, We did get epic battles, ONE, EACH, OTHER, And the best of all, Ash Did won something that is More prestigious that winning the leauge, WINNIG THE BATTLE FRONTIER, And the only other character that Cannonicaly Beated Battle Frontier was Emerald

Then DP came out and it was a good mix of Battles with Action and Comedy and i will say one of my Mainpoints of my opinion

1:DP was XY but done right

DP has Similarities to XY, The description filled below plus a Performer that liked ash and a Kiss the Cook guy, But it was good I liked it by various reasons butI won't say them because Cancerous XYgotes
