Why do people use Charizard as their goalies? Considering that there are so many purple moves that can take it off the goal really easily, especially with Double Chance (Spiky Shield, Psychic Shove, Hurricane), it just seems awful.

Why is Genesect such garbage? 100 Damage isn't even a lot compared to what other EXs can do. It not only needs to set up for the 100 damage, it needs to actually hit it on the second fight. Why does it lose the charge when it hits one of those huge dodge wedges it has?The plate removals are cool, but they're way too situational. Not only do you have to deal with all of the above to actually knock an opponent out, you also need to take up plate slots and pray that you dont waste them by landing on Charge a second time in a row. Not to mention that you need the right plates against the right opponents. Do you just fill up your plate slots just in case you get in that one situation where you can take a 50% chance to remove a pokemon, or do I just take something reliable?

Your team's actually decent- looks fun to play. Magikarp is actually really good, if I'm not mistaken, so is Snorlax. Slippery Swap has won me so many games. Not sure about Pichu and Eevee- what did you set Eevee to evolve into? What's so good about Skarmory? Seen a lot of them recently but they always seem mediocre. I find Teleport to be a lot better than Fly Away since you won't get in a situation where you land in a place surrounded by the opposition.

I think salamence is a pretty solid pokemon, 70 white attack or 3 star fly away can be incredible useful, specially if you raise that 70 to 71, it can kill most of the non-EX figures and with a +30 plate it can take out anything with 100.

They should lower the clv cost for common figures so that its possible to get them to plus 10 giving more incentive to use them as well as a better chance to evolve certain figures. The need to introduce new evolution methods like being involved in a surround knockout

So you people have never played a gacha game before. Aside from random outliers caused by incompetent design or outright bugs, everything that isn't the rarest of the rare is designed to be absolute trash by comparison. That's the way it literally always works in mobile games; it's a scheme to get stupid people to pay for an advantage. "Buff older figures?" Pfft, why would they ever do that when "whales" are research-proven to drop thousands of dollars on boosters trying to get the newest and most overpowered figures?

The few exceedingly rare (and therefore objectively more powerful) figures will only get buffs, never nerfs, and anything that isn't exceedingly rare is actively designed to be fusion fodder for those few overpowered and exceedingly rare figures. You think they design complete shit like Spearow or Bidoof to actually be used by players? No, you're never supposed to play with them. Like all other common figures, they design figures like Spearow and Bidoof for two things only:

1) To be immediately fused for experience, and
2) To be easily beaten by your team in quests

Why do you think they give you that rare Pikachu for free to start out? Because it's better than every other figure you currently have. They want you to feel like you have an "ace" when you play the quests. They want you to feel intelligent and strong in your first match against that boneheaded AI that's running 3 Bidoofs and 3 Tyrogues.

This was depressing to read. I was really hoping that since this game has the Pokemon name attached to it and by extension, Nintendo, it wouldn't be such a cash grab. It really makes the companies (company?) look bad. But I suppose since the game isn't all that popular to begin with, no one there really cares. It's such a shame because I do think this is a legitimately fun game.

Do they really make more money off of whales than off of a larger but still very dedicated playerbase regularly spending ~$5 every few months? As the game is now, I'm pretty sure no one but whales are buying anything. The gem prices are outrageous ($1 for 12 gems? That's less than the login bonus. $20 for a quad pack. What) and the chances of pulling some great Pokemon from a quad pack (and even sex packs, come on, many EX pokemon are mediocre) are so slim. No one is actually purchasing gems except for whales. Normal players are just saving up their gems from quests and login bonuses. Looking at Serebii, it seems like gem prices have always been what they are now. So the game seems to have been based around catering to whales from the start.

Is this really sustainable? In a few months after the novelty wears off, I can't see a lot of average players sticking around. It will just be newbies and whales. Newbies will get stuck at 1500 in league matches and stop playing once they repeatedly get steamrolled by 6 EX level 5 Clv 2+ teams, just like many of us during the flying gym. If they're just playing to beat quest mode, then they'll never even need any EX figures anyway. I can't see them buying gems. The only ones buying gems will be whales. Even whales will get bored with the game eventually. Buying your way to the top isn't fun, especially when every team looks the same.

Is it even remotely possible the game devs can change their mind about this? It looks like they weren't thinking about the longterm effects of this strategy.

Is the game fixable at this point without nerfs?
