It was slow.
The region was terribly designed.
It had the fewest memorable locations (b-but muh snow route).
The music was bland piano fare for 90% of the routes.
Secret bases were hugely downgraded from gen 3.
Pokemon were minmaxed as fuck, obsoleting old favorites.

I know it's what you grew up with but for those of us who didn't there's very little comfy about it.

Sinnoh has few memorable locations? We have Floaroma the city of flowers with giant windmills nearby. Snowpoint all snowy. Pastoria with all that marsh tiles. Celestic and the foggy route to get there. Freaking Mt. Coronet.

And there are big cities like Jubilife and Hearthome. Sinnoh is a great region. Unova is a linear piece of shit.

My problem with Unova is that you only move forward. You never have to go back to visit some city to get to other place. You just go straight ahead. The region is linear. I find it boring.

Two gyms in and the game feels like way more of a meatgrinder than usual. Heard the change to the XP formula made it slow as fuck to level and it certainly feels it.
