Does anyone else see abilities as something they could add in the game's future? Obviously it would be a pain in the ass for gym (or trainer?) battles, but having it dependent on whichever your buddy is and give overworld bonuses like in the games could be interesting.

If your buddy has, say:

Is this game worth anything now? I played during the initial craze and grew quickly bored of it. There were rarely any Pokemon I wanted to raise around my rural area. Then the wave of hacking and bots kind of discouraged me to do anything with it at all.

So is the game any better these days? Is it even worth trying to get back into? I like the idea if adding something Pokémon related to my bike ride but don't know if it is worth it.

It's the chicken year the whole year for me.

Hi everyone, after months and months of saving Dratini candy I finally hatched one with decent IV's and evolved it into a Dragonite with the best defensive moveset. Now the question is what to do with the leftover candy (about 25): Should I use it to power up the Dragonite, or save it to evolve another Dragonite (I have have a Dragonair with middling IVs) to try and get a good offensive one?
Obviously Dragonites are good both on offence and defense, but my area isn't abundant with Dratinis (took me over 6 months to get the candy for just this one Dragonite), and I've never even seen a Dragonite on the nearby tracker. Therefore I'm wondering if its better to just settle for a good defensive Dragonite, or try to go for an offensive one too? I dont have any high-level Snorlax or Lapras to be elite attackers so I definitely am lacking in the offense department at the moment.

But no, it's much better to have two mid tier that have enough staying power in a gym than one that can top gyms. With two you free these options:
1- two to leave in two gyms
2- when one is in a gym, the other can be used to battle in gyms (and believe me, a Dragonbreath/whatever Dragonite is fucking amazing to take gyms down)
3- you can buddy one and leave the other in gyms

This is a regular issue if you take too long to capture and/if your spoofing app takes you back to your real location, then the game softbans you.
The same thing happens if you're traveling and forget to close the app, then you go far, open it up again, your avatar jumps the distance and when you try to catch something, it runs away.
