Ashs way of doing Z-Moves is a glimpse of what is to come during other battles.

Hala and Kaki are captains/kahuna's and have a "phrase" to say before launching a Z-Move to build up to a REALLY powerful attack which is why it takes so long.

Eventually I expect we'll get to a point where Z-Moves are treated almost like Greninja's transformation so that the pace of the battle doesn't become interrupted if it's highspeed.

Instead of doing 2 separate Z-moves one after the other I could see 2 of the same kind being used against each other at the same time.

So Ash VS Gladion, instead of two separate uses we'd be shown a cut of Ash and Gladion using the same Z-Move at the same time with Pikachu and Type: Null following the poses or whatever. That way it builds up a crazy attack without taking forever.

He would have placed higher in Hoenn had he used other Pokemon then just those captured in Hoenn. Sinnoh he got robbed by Tobias and essentially came in 2nd. Kalos he DID place in 2nd. They're running out of space to have Ash lose unless it winds up being a major fuck you.

The next slot Ash can only progress to is a League winner, so it will happen at some point. We just don't know when. And its not like the show has to end after winning one League. We still have the Champions League, Elite Four, and possibly the Pokemon Master if it's a rank above a Region Champion.
