Other than Pikachu's battles, since it had a massively underpowered Pokemon versus not, it's really have been more of the same, along with some sprinkling of dues ex machina victories (Aim for the horn, thunder armor, trick room can physically be shattered). Yeah it sets up an arc that will rely on Lillie's family instead of really saying much about Lillie herself beyond what we already knew or contributing anything to the main plot of the episode, the egg shenanigans.

And thank god it had that photo or it would've been a totally forgettable episode. The battle was lackluster, the Lillie egg autism was cringe, and watching Ash stuff his face with macarons was only mildly amusing. Nothing about the episode itself was all that interesting. A photo of all things can't fully rescue an otherwise mediocre episode.

Lillie's been my least favorite of the SM girls so far, and this episode didn't do much to change that.
