ive deviated from requests before while keeping the original idea/most of it (so i do take "artistic freedom" sometimes). I draw things I enjoy doing, and I usually come here for inspiration. I'll admit, specific requests are a bit more enjoyable because they might say something I wouldn't think if drawing instead of just "something cute".
since the art is free, there's no real obligation to make a request 100% accurate besides your word that you will. requesters, request what you want. drawfags, take requests you want to do. that's basically it.

As a fellow drawtard, I agree with this. To add in my own two cents, I have several pet peeves that make me not take a request:

1. Vague.
2. Too complicated (asking someone to draw something that would take them too much time, like 5+ complex designed characters).
3. Cross overs (admittedly, this is something that's mostly personal. It seems most other drawfags are fine with doing this).
4. Convoluted deviant art fanfics.
5. Something that's too specific to the requester, i.e. other people can't really enjoy it.
6. Over done pokemon (Waifus and edgemons).

I'm probably too picky. I mostly just take requests of pokemon holding something or inserting a pokemon into a meme, plust I'm not here too often. I only do a draw maybe once or twice a month.
