the grunts come out of their "homes" and start whispering; theyre excited to see the boss again but something about him's changed. he seems unapproachable and maybe even.....pathetic?
the whispers grow louder and he continues toward to mansion, heavy footsteps and rain falling together in a sad beat
then, out of nowhere, louder faster footsteps approach. its plumeria
she stomps up to him and yells mercilessly into his hunched form
she continues for a minute (where were you?! you left all of us behind! we had no leader! we were so worried etc) until she notices hes not retaliating.
she crouches a bit to look him directly in the face, only to see his face somewhere between screwed up in fear and just plain tired. the rain masks his tears a bit, but she knows the gang cant see him like this. she tells them all of bugger off back to whatever they were doing and she takes him to her room.
she tries to comfort him but he flinches at her touch. she asks him what happened. he starts to shake, but hes not crying. hes laughing
"i finally did it, plums! i finally saw it! I saw what fear looks like with my own two eyes!"
now the tears start to flow. hes still shaking, his laughs getting gentler until they stop altogether. plumeria leans foward and embraces him, and now he breaks down.
after a good 30 mins of sobbing and heavy breathing, he tries to recount what happened...


btw is it just me or does it look like guzma wears some kind of lipstick

This. People on tumblr have such a emotionally skewed viewpoint that if they feel attached to character that turns out to be a dick, they have to explain it with a bunch of cancer. Guzma has a tragic backstory, but what's tragic is how the one thing he wanted in life, to be a trial captain, is position that goes against his nature. He even continues to act like one, specializing in a specific type and hoarding z-crystals. Guzma knows he's a bad guy; he tells you almost every time you fight him. What's worse, being denied the position of captain or kahuna is basiclly saying "you aren't a good enough person." So throughout the game, he just does exactly what people said he was destined for, even embracing it, which causes a cycle were people hate him even more. That's why Guzma is so tragic, not because of some cancerous bullshit.
