I like most Pokemon to an equal degree, but I don't actively try to use them in a tier that doesn't suit them. The only instance like that is that I try to push Volcarona in OU because I really like it.
>>25074458 >Implying I'm a pokephile because I like Gardevoir. I don't know if you know this, but Gradevoir is extremely good in doubles and the Mega helped shape the VGC15 meta. So don't get up in arms because my favorite is better than yours.
I think I am a karenfag but I don't give a shit if you want to use only the best of the best in terms of competitiveness. That's your choice. In fact, it makes me feel better to beat you with my so-called "shitmons." Also I just enjoy building teams more than individual sets. And I think karenfagging lends itself to this a little more, because in order to make many lower tier pokes viable in upper tiers they need massive team support.
>>25074540 >haha you're a scrub for not using the most common and overused mega! >it's not me who's the scrub for using a crutch to make up for my complete lack skill and ineptitude for anti-meta teambuilding!
>>25074034 I'm a mixture. I try to use at least somewhat viable Pokémon (when your bro is Farfetch'd you don't really have a choice) but I always try to choose my favorites from within OU and UU. I'm willing to use an Aegislash or Greninja (assuming on cart) but not a genie or Rotom-Wash, because I like the former and don't like the latter (I like Rotom, just not Rotom-W). Then I'll throw in shit like Slurpuff that sometimes works with a gimmick like Belly Drum for some weird Smogonfag-Karenfag mixture.
>>25074034 I saw suggested Skuntank builds here on /vp/. Been pleasantly surprised with the results. Mostly coverage moves, but when fucking no one uses Skuntank fucking no one counters it right away either.
There's literally only three Skuntank sets out there.
Physical attacker with Poison Jab/Sucker Punch/Pursuit or Crunch and some other shit, or the special set with Dark Pulse/Fire Blast/Sludge Bomb or Acid Spray and something else. Or a mixed set incorporating Fire Blast/Sucker Punch and other moves. One set has surprising coverage. The other is an anti-meta counter-counter. The mixed set tries to do both.
I don't actually give a shit about playing competitive so it doesn't matter to me. Competitive Pokemon might as well be a totally different game; in fact, it literally is, given how many people only battle on Showdown.
>>25074873 >it's not me who's the scrub for using a crutch to make up for my complete lack skill and ineptitude for anti-meta teambuilding! That's correct. Scrub isn't a measure of how skilled a person is, it's a measure of serious they are about winning.
I used to be a Karenfag until I realized competitive Pokemon is hardly fun, and using my favorites doesn't change the fact that they're bad. Even if you're willing to put forth a Herculean amount of effort to take out Talonflame #303, people who use OU Smogon copypasta teams will laugh and laugh as your Yanmega loses half it's health on switch. There are success stories like the guy who won VCG with a Pachirisu, but people forget that he had to build his team around it with more OU Pokemon. Karenfags are admirable and devoted to their favorites, but nothing will truly change, and chances are they would have more fun playing PMD where their effort won't go to waste.
>>25074501 >Fire type early game bird based on the peregrine falcon Good taste. I immediately loved it when it was revealed. I'm happy it's great competitively too, but it being used by every nip online is no fun.
>>25078862 > If some guy plays on showdown for fun and they win 90% of the time and know what they're doing, but aren't competitive and don't give a shit, are they a scrub? Yes. If he's matched against someone that knows as much as he does but is also taking shit serious that person will always lose. >If you don't use all the best tools you have available to you that makes you a scrub? No. At least they're playing to win. >"Scrub" has gotten kind of meaningless, hasn't it? Nah the word has always kept its original meaning. You're just ignorant for not knowing it. >A scrub just means a fag who is shit and makes excuses. Nah man, that's a noob. Scrubs and noobs are similar but they're not interchangeable.
No, a noob is someone who is bad because they're new and ignorant.
A scrub is someone who probably is new, but not necessarily. The defining characteristic of a scrub isn't being new or ignorant, it's being a retarded asshole about it.
You don't know what a scrub is, faggot. And your lame David Sirlin "playing to win" faggotry is seriously tiring too, like shitting Sirlin's Art of War memes all over the internet somehow makes you something.
Personally I think that as annoying as Karenfags are, the Showdown crowd putting together the same fucking teams and taking their simulator super serious when many of them are total morons and only get that far because their teams are mindless is an infinitely worse crowd.
>>25079807 >No, a noob is someone who is bad because they're new and ignorant. Nope, that's a newb. >You don't know what a scrub is, faggot. And your lame David Sirlin "playing to win" faggotry is seriously tiring too, like shitting Sirlin's Art of War memes all over the internet somehow makes you something. Well fuck you too. >Personally I think that as annoying as Karenfags are, the Showdown crowd putting together the same fucking teams and taking their simulator super serious when many of them are total morons and only get that far because their teams are mindless is an infinitely worse crowd. Well yeah, of course. You can be not a scrub, and still be moron. But why be a punk scrub bitch that whines and cries about it when instead you can just use teams with similar power levels and beat them down, no prob?
A "newb" is someone who is new. You can be new and it doesn't mean you're bad. A noob is someone who is new and bad. Your terminology is all fucked up because you weren't fucking there when these words first started coming into being. I was. You are just a memeshitter which is why you think David Sirlin is real.
Now from this moment on, I will not acknowledge you, because your "play 2 win" faggotry is boring and your bait is too weak. I post this only to call you out in front of other people as the tard you are.
>>25075909 Poison Jab, Foul Play, Play Rough, and Flamethrower. Holds Assault Vest. Aftermath ability. I'll get back to you on the EVs, but the set (which ain't flawless) lets me hurt everything. They all need to feel our pain.
>>25074034 Well, I always use what I like. Some things are very good (Garchomp, Mega-Diancie etc) whereas others are downright terrible (Meowstic-F, Glaceon etc) I try to give everything an equal chance to shine.
Things like the Genies and Ferrothorn may be very good in competitive, but I don't like them so I'd never use them on a team.
