I like most Pokemon to an equal degree, but I don't actively try to use them in a tier that doesn't suit them. The only instance like that is that I try to push Volcarona in OU because I really like it.

I'm a mixture. I try to use at least somewhat viable Pokémon (when your bro is Farfetch'd you don't really have a choice) but I always try to choose my favorites from within OU and UU. I'm willing to use an Aegislash or Greninja (assuming on cart) but not a genie or Rotom-Wash, because I like the former and don't like the latter (I like Rotom, just not Rotom-W). Then I'll throw in shit like Slurpuff that sometimes works with a gimmick like Belly Drum for some weird Smogonfag-Karenfag mixture.

Physical attacker with Poison Jab/Sucker Punch/Pursuit or Crunch and some other shit, or the special set with Dark Pulse/Fire Blast/Sludge Bomb or Acid Spray and something else. Or a mixed set incorporating Fire Blast/Sucker Punch and other moves. One set has surprising coverage. The other is an anti-meta counter-counter. The mixed set tries to do both.

I used to be a Karenfag until I realized competitive Pokemon is hardly fun, and using my favorites doesn't change the fact that they're bad. Even if you're willing to put forth a Herculean amount of effort to take out Talonflame #303, people who use OU Smogon copypasta teams will laugh and laugh as your Yanmega loses half it's health on switch.
There are success stories like the guy who won VCG with a Pachirisu, but people forget that he had to build his team around it with more OU Pokemon.
Karenfags are admirable and devoted to their favorites, but nothing will truly change, and chances are they would have more fun playing PMD where their effort won't go to waste.

Well, I always use what I like. Some things are very good (Garchomp, Mega-Diancie etc) whereas others are downright terrible (Meowstic-F, Glaceon etc)
I try to give everything an equal chance to shine.

Things like the Genies and Ferrothorn may be very good in competitive, but I don't like them so I'd never use them on a team.
