Is it a meme to still hate on Gen 5?
>shitting on pokemon designs
a reminder to get a load of this
For me, the appeal of Pokemon is travelling through new areas, discovering new Pokemon and building a team out of them. Gen 5 is probably the best gen for this.
Unfortunately, people whined about not being able to see Pikachu in the wild for the 80th time, so it'll never be done again.
Most of /vp/ agrees that Gen 5 is the best gen. The only people who disagree are a small group of Gen 2 fans.
BW is the first gen that captures the feeling of being brand new since the originals. Having no older Pokemon catchable until after the Elite 4 was one of the best things GameFreak has ever done. BW also executes a story very well. B2W2 put a spin on the "1.5 version" formula and tells a cool tale. Both games have great post-game challenges, especially B2W2.
The only spot where Gen 5 dropped the ball is legendaries. The genies, Meloetta, and Keldeo are pretty lame, but the cover legendaries are some of the best design and lore-wise.
>was about to bully you because of your shit tastes
>Scolipede is alive
>STILL shitting on pokemon designs
fine, get a bigger load of it
unmarked is for mediocre/decent designs
some of my favorite pokemon are actually from gen 5
This pretty much. Though it's not that i hate gen 5 in particular, i could easily select mons this way in every other gen.
great tastes anon
I would give zoroark, cobalion, and the rest of the hydreigon family green circles
>out of place
>not knowing that dinosaurs had feathers
Anon... if Tyrantrum was made in gen I, when this was still unconfirmed, it would not have the collar, but now that science confirmed that fact it's only natural. That thing is based off a t-rex, which had feathers.
Get over it.
I was definitely a hardcore Gen2 fag before Gen5.
Gen5 is so great.
It does have some good mons such as volcarona, but there's too many shit designs to say I like gen 5 as a whole.
>It would do much better if it got other evo line.
Outside of losing the otter appearance, it really isn't that off. It's pre evolutions are the sole reasons why it even has a samurai theme and carries literal shell blades and armor (as their Scallop shells provided them offensive and defensive benefits)
>Mienshao, Chandelure, and Lilligant
You have the shittiest taste in this thread.
I didn't like BW when they first came out, it took me until BW2 were announced to final get the energy to beat my copy. But I ended up loving BW2, they're probably my favorite games in the series.
I only played through BW that one time, should I give them another shot?
I love Gen 5 so much. I replay BW and Hg/SS once a year.
BW is great, take time to listen to the music and how it varies depending on if you're running or walking, or other factors. Listen to the ambient sounds.
Take time to really look at the suoer nice graphics, and the way the routes look.
Have a free reply on me for that well-thought out post.
Only fags with no sense of humor hate Gen V.
B/W was not that good, however, B2W2 fixed the Gen.
I think this pic still works. It's from /vp/ 2010/11. I would put B2W2 in High tier.
will you faggots stop comparing pokemon to yokai watch?
yokais are GHOSTS. not cutesy furbait shit like pokemon or digimon. They're totally different things. you wouldn't compare a fucking pikmin to mewtwo.
>defending shitkai watch
shill confirmed. Have a bigger load of it
Well, it had a lot of mons (unlike gen 6 for exemple, which had too few of them leading Kalos to be full of previous gens and have no identity of its own)
But many of them ere fucking terrible (the gear, the ice cream, the trashbag, tepig's evos, the genies, the red and blue fighting things...etc)
So people always say Pokemon like the Klink, Vanillish, and Trubbish lines are shit, but what exactly about them is bad? Answer seriously, what don't you like about them without meming about lol icecream.
The only ones I don't like is Klinklang. It's a bit boring, looks awkward imagining it fighting, and isn't different enough from Klang. But I do like the gimmick of it getting more complex as it evolves.
Gen 5's problem has never been that it has NO good designs. Just that most of the designs are shit. Gen 6 is much better because it's quality over quantity. Gen 5 has done irreperable damage to the brand by flooding it with shitmons like Pidove's line or Garbodor or Hydreigon or Keldeo or Samurott. The fact that it has some greatmons like Scolipede or Krookodile can't whooly make up for it.
>Gen 5 has done irreperable damage to the brand
What "damage"? The series has never shown any sign of decline. Don't gauge success by some angry vocal minority on the Internet.
wow a thing that is not pokemon looks nothing like pokemon. who would've guessed!
Because people like memes.
There's also this. This is how the first two stages look without their covering.
"Naked" Vanillite totally looks like an ice cone.
inb4 "lol adventures"
>So people always say Pokemon like the Klink, Vanillish, and Trubbish lines are shit, but what exactly about them is bad?
They're incoherent, like every pokemon based on man-made things (since pokemon are natural being).
When it was just a sphere or a pile of goo (like voltorb and muk), you could imagine that it was still natuire, and that the similarity with human items was just a coincidence.
But with gears, trashbags and candles...
Magnemite's design is literally a metal ball with screws and magnets on it. Your argument that "gears" is somehow weirder than that doesn't really hold water.
But I hate the Klink line.
It never was a meme,
Its a fact that everything about gen 5 is an abomination
