Having an animal have traits from "fuzzy" insects seems to be the safest bet with fakemon artists, and it honestly works the best.
theres about 4 other "bear+bee" fakemons in google images alone

Yes a pokemon can gain the bug type. Think experiment gone wrong or zombie-like alien bug that turns pokemon into bugs. Any alien pokemon could be bug type as a secondary type.
