I really liked Pokémon, will they ever join Ash again? I just can't bring myself to watching Pokémon again. I grew up watching Pokémon with Misty and Brock by the side of Ash. It just feels empty without them.

If you read the Yuyama interview from the movie site, you learn that this short is something he's been wanting to do nearly since the anime started, and the reason it took so long is because he had such a hard time figuring out how to do it right. It was a very personal project for him.

I hope he never learns how badly the dub raped something that meant so much to him.

Tomioka was the head writer of AG and DP, so you would be right. He was also the main writer of May and Dawn and their Contest arcs.

Tomioka took over the anime after Shudo quit around mid-Johto. This is also why the tail-end of Johto had some really good episodes, you can tell when the writing changed because the last 40ish episodes of Johto were a huge improvement over what came before.

In his novels, his dad was a deadbeat who never amounted to anything, and both Flint and Lola ended up abandoning their families for dreams that ended in disappointment. Shudo walked off well before, but he was still advising and shit by the end of Johto, and both Gary and Misty decided to end their travels and follow in their various families' footsteps

It's a very "Set aside your childhood dreams, go home, be an adult, fulfill filial obligations" sort of message

I also noticed that in Kanto, the narrative takes every opportunity possible to shit on him. He gets something legitimately good on his team, it either immediately leaves or starts to disobey him. They go out of their way to humiliate Ash in front of a crowd of people in the Indigo League. Not even what happened in Unova was that bad - he lost because Charizard made him look like a laughable trainer.

Anti-Escapism Aesop: A Space Whale Aesop version of it, preaching about the evils of becoming obsessed with Anime in general (and Super Robot shows in specific), with The Jovians as the Space Whale.

I only know Nadesico, I liked the tone of the series; is mostly a comedy with a somehow background plot that it's ongoing the whole series and gets a proper explanation and end without being forced.

Most of the chapters can give you a laugh, but, like all Mecha Series, drama happens, people die and such, but overall it have a light-tone.

The tone of those specific chapters are way more darker than they should be and sometimes don't even allow the plot to develop, it makes to get stale actually.

It ends with the main couple with a Ramen restaurant, the MC didn't care about being a pilot, he just wanted to live quietly.

Yet the movie takes everything away from him even before the movie starts; and presents a whole political conflict. When the movie ends, the conflict isn't solved as a whole and the MC, being before a laid-back happy-go-lucky guy, thought that almost everybody else were incompetent, and decided to solve things with its own hands; even leaving behind his wife and people he cared for.

In the things that the goverment did to him, since he was a human born in Mars and like every other Martian he had some strange abilities; they experimented with him. Coincidentally, he liked to cook and actually aimed to become a chef someday, but surprise, the experiments left him without his smell and taste senses.

When is Ash going to get a full team?

I think people putting Misty as top battler have simply forgotten what Misty's battles in the anime were actually like. Even if you exclude all the battles where Psyduck pops out to get a headache, there's really not much else to choose from since Misty barely battled in the first place.

I think the only reason she originally looked good is because she nearly tied with Ash in Cerulean Gym, but that was when Ash was a rookie trainer and his freshly caught Butterfree and Pidgeotto were already wrecking Misty's top two pokemon at the time.
