I liked gen 5's designs on average better than gen 6.

I found gen 5 to be more polarizing (i.e. I either liked a pokemon a lot or I disliked it a lot) but as a whole there were a bunch more pokemon I liked compared to gen 6 where I just felt "meh, it's ok" on most of the designs.
