Not that anon, but Adventures doesn't really have the same charm as the games do to me. It comes off as edgier in a lot of way.

Plus the Pokemon games do have some pragmatic and ruthless villains. It gets boring when every single villain is that way, especially when it goes against entirely their game characterization. Feels like it just making them eviler for no particular reason.

Not the guy you're talking to, but I'm curious. I mean, Emerald's arc was really all over the place and he's really kind of a crappy character. But what are your gripes with yellow and crystal? Yellow I can see as sort of a mary sue but crystal escapes me. Unless you mean the whole "broke her arms trying to master capturing" thing which yeah, it was kinda weird.
