Like I said, it was made on its own engine with its own assets and with lots of new and different systems. It was made by a 2hu fangroup named FocasLens, led by original romhack creator. The difference in development is that they got shit done. The thing that gets to me about Reborn/Rejuvenation is that they seem to understand that people hate their game for being too edgy and they're not willing to do anything about it.

Godra fixed a lot of problems players had with it, Ethereal Gates redesigned the unpopular mons. I couldn't finish Insurgence but I appreciated the effort put into it to make it not edgy.
