Do you like the Pokemon reps in Smash 4?
Who do you main?
And why aren't you hyped for Greninja, Jigglypuff, Charizard and Mewtwo in Mario Kart, thanks to Amiibo?
Loving all the reps, definitely glad Greninja got in even if I don't play him. I have no idea what happened but something about Lucario has clicked with me so he's now my second, when before I didn't even really like it
We did have Pichu once. But I doubt he's coming back, he was the only Melee rep not found unfinished in Brawl files, aside from Young Link but he was just replaced with Toon Link.
Pichu, Lucario, and Greninja got in because they were from the newest games at the time. If Smash had come out a few years earlier, we'd have probably ended up with Zoroark instead of Greninja.
never played smash in my life Is it really that gud?
Imagine that this is a subforum dedicated to Smash and you just asked the same thing about Pokémon.
I think it's a good cover of the series. You have four (five counting future DLC) popular Pokémon everyone knows from the anime, and one "weird" character to shake things up in the form of Greninja.
Would I prefer Lucario or Jigglypuff to be replaced with, say, something like Golurk or Roserade? Yeah, but Smash is supposed to be a fighting ground for popular characters, and no one knows those guys outside of Poke-fans.
See at some parts I'm amased at the things he's done but baffled by the simple things he hasn't.
Several characters got new Final Smashes when their previous ones were servicable.
Yet Falco, Toon Link and Shiek all get clone final smashes.
It makes no fucking sense bar laziness
>le hating frogue naruto ninja meme
simply ebin :^)
Gen 1 has exactly three mascots (Pikachu, Charizard, Mewtwo)
Gen 2 has exactly one mascot (Pichu)
Gen 3 has exactly one mascot (Blaziken)
Gen 4 has exactly one mascot (Lucario)
Gen 5 has exactly
Gen 6 has exactly one mascot (Greninja)
Of course they're going to represent the most important Pokemon icons in the game. The only one that doesn't deserve its slot since Day 1 was Jigglypuff. And Pichu was really not necessary either, and Gen 5 has
no succesful mascot to represent it
>not understanding sarcasm, even on the internet
Isn't Gamefreak pushing Audino as the Gen 5 mascot? She got a mega before the Gen 5 starters, after all.
Oh right, and they fucking hate how Chandelure is popular in Japan. That's why this thing is a fuck-annoying enemy in Smash Run.
Jigglypuff is the best mon.
>tfw your bro/sis will never ever be playable in smash
Zoroark was fucking pulled off from the Pokemon show, because he was uninteresting as fuck. Japan doesn't like him.
I dunno why we are still arguing if you believe that Zoroark isn't a failed mascot. Maybe you won't believe if you get run over a car. It's the same thing for you. :^)
I use Pikachu for fun, but main ROB. I honestly couldn't care much for the others. Lucario, Jiggs, and potentially Mewtwo are all just okay, Charizard gets punished so often, and Naru Toad just makes me feel uncomfortable with the way it looks. I don't know, I never liked it's design much, myself.
>Pokemon in Mario Kart with Amiibo
I don't think that's exactly how it works.
He included clones because they take minutes to create. The clones were extras to fatten the roster and give players character variety.
Extras. They don't take up slots. They arent "could have been a new character". They are practically gifts to you fucks.
No wonder Sakurai thinks you are all retarded children.
>thinking that gives an excuse to put in clones
See Brawl. That game at least tried to remove them , you fuckwit. I don't give a shit about roster size, I care more about diversity.
Zoroark wouldn't really work with a mega. Unless you have like, Scizor as sixth and the game treats it as Mega Scizor evolving and the mega has an ability that treats it as that Pokemon stat-wise
>literally everywhere except water and caves
>mentioned by several NPCs
>adorable and fluffy
>was in a shitty movie to force its popularity
>literally not mentioned except N and his Zorua
>Still not liked at all
Stay mad fuckface. Audino is THE representative of Gen 5 outside the starters and Volc, and it always needed that fairy typing
But it'd be so much better without it
He is correct.
He also forgot to mention that Audino is the first Gen 5 Pokemon to get a Mega.
Just like Blaziken was the first Gen 3 Pokemon and Lucario being the first Gen 4 Pokemon to get that one as well.
Ampharos is the first Gen 2 Pokemon shown who got a Mega as well. Please make him the Gen 2 mascot instead of fucking Pichu, Gamefreak.
Lucario's Aura actually feels more powerful in this game when in Brawl it was negligible. His animations are a little less stiff too and at high percent your game becomes high risk high reward with the moves you land.
>Hey everyone, check out my side b!
Jigglypuff is the only one that really bugs me.
I mean pikachu is really all that's needed but I can see why charizard is in since it's arguably the single most popular Pokemon. Lucario also has a pretty large following and I think a movie or two to it's name. Mewtwo is more deserving a slot as a rep as ever with it's own new movie and two new Mega's for it this gen. It would have been criminal to bring back dr Mario but not Mewtwo now. Greninja serves as possibly the most popular starter to the new gen of Pokemon so for Sm4sh, I can understand it's inclusion... Though we'll have to see if it stays deserving for next gen Smash and I'm honestly not sure it will.
Jiggly has nothing other than being one of the first 12 in smash. She's dated as a rep to Pokemon and should have been gone come Brawl honestly.
Again, if anything I'd just have Pikachu, fuck flavors of the gen. Just use the mascot and make any other mon a pokeball.
If I HAD to have multiple reps for Pokemon, I'd probably have one Pokemon per gen with 4 gens represented tops
I don't play online very often, but I played against a Bowser player earlier today and he was a giant asshole.
>literally doesn't move from the edge
>waits for me to come to him
>side B suicide lol
Are all Bowser players like this? It's not terribly hard to deal with once you know how shitty it is but side B and down A in air was literally the only thing he did.
>all these guys hating on jigglypuff
>your bro will never appear in smash
Enjoy your trophies and pokeballs.
>Though we'll have to see if it stays deserving for next gen Smash
People have been saying this before Brawl's release. And they said it before Kerfuffle's release too. Jigglypuff won't ever be cut, Anon. Learn to accept it.
I was talking about Greninja when I wrote that.
I know Jigglypuff will be in the next smash and it's all because of Muh 'riginal 12.
Will she be in to rep Pokemon? Of course
Should she be in to rep Pokemon? I don't think so
Zero the scarflard faggot uses and loves ZSS. It's a bit like finding out a pedophile uses the same character as you.
Also ZSS is broken so tierwhores and such, people don't like the tryhards who tierwhore in the least competitive smash so far
Jiggly is still my favorite mon is Smash
Greninja and Charizard are cool, though.
Terrible with Pikachu and Lucario, pretty much because I don't like them. :/
>we will never get a Pokémon Veteran DLC pack with Pichu, Squirtle, and Ivysaur
I tried using Jiggs in Brawl and I couldn't get her to work at all. I'm not a complete tierfag since I main
Dededeand he doesn't seem terribly popular, but did Jiggs get any kind of buff between Brawl and Sm4sh?
>everyone I main gets cut except for Jigglypuff
Stuck with her no matter what because of that. Still wish the other character's movesets stayed somehow.
I know that feel.
M-Mewtwo got back in, maybe there's hope for your characters.
No hope for my main the Ice Climbers though. I hope Sakurai likes his shitty 3DS version.
>replace "Ice Climbers" as "Nana" and "Popo" respectively in one slot, a la Olimar and Alph
>each can operate entirely independently of each other, but are best in Team matches
>can pull each other up using Up B rope
>combo shenanigans with frost breath/ ice chunks/ hammer/ custom moves
>8-player mode in Wii U version means you can have up to 4 teams of Nana/Popo
I think Pokemon's representation in Smash is close to perfect. This is extremely nit picky, but I think Jigglypuff is what breaks that.
She's earned her place in Smash by being there from the start. I think her inclusion made sense at the time considering she was easy enough to make. Part of me wants her cut and replaced with a Pokemon more iconic, like Meowth for example. I think he was robbed of a spot on the roster. It is what is it though.
