A lot of people here are opposed to any change to pokemon, and often without any thought out reason for it. It's really strange, I don't know why they're satisfied with the same exact game over and over. "Pokemon should be pokemon, if you want _____ then go play that game instead." As if games don't take inspiration and ideas from other games all the time. Or that destroying the sanctity of the pokemon series will retroactively destroy their childhood and their future or something. Counter argument, if you want more of the same old pokemon, play one of the many games already released that are exactly what you apparently want. Let the series fucking grow.

One of the most common arguments I see against a change to the formula is "that won't work because it would break ____" as if the idea presented would be the only thing Gamefreak would change and would keep the rest of the game the exact same. I don't understand what is with all the rigid thinking.

Either there's too many kids on this board or people are genuinely stupid, but /vp/ easily has the lowest average intelligence of all the boards I frequent. Nowadays I just come here for art and the occasional shitpost, anything more feels like an unpleasant waste of time

Rules: Periodically I'll ask for input on what you, Ron (and ONLY Ron), should do. When input is required, I will ask for a set of a few numbers. 5 minutes after asking for those numbers, the LAST post ending in one of the requested numbers will have their suggestion taken for Ron's action. Only posts made AFTER the post asking for a # will count. Other characters will move autonomously, acting of their own will, though you can make suggestions for them.
Dubs and trips will now be counted as 'bonus' or 'add-on' actions, actions that Ron will take, so long as they don't conflict or detract away from the main roll. Dubs and trips (or better) can be countered with dubs (or better) of opposite even-odd (ie, 44 can be countered with 11, 33, 55, etc.)
Other rules: -"Get bragging" will now be ignored. (These trips say x, If quads, x will happen)
-"Securing" is no longer allowed. Attempts to secure an action by use of dubs or better will now result in the original action being nullified and moving to the next-most qualified roll.

Keep note that actions can only be performed within the realm of plausibility. You can't pull out items you don't have, you can't use moves you don't know, you can't willingly try to kill yourself etc. etc.

Because my dear OP, much like in the movie The Founder, GF are basically the McDonald Brothers. They're smart and had a good idea, but that's all they ever had.

They don't know shit about writing a story, making good competitive game play, making good features/post-game, hell, they don't even know how to make good concepts or see them through like baby pokemon, cross-gen evo's, fusions, megas, or soon the soon-to-be-tossed regional variants.

Why? Because besides not having any good skills, they're like children unable to keep with a single idea before eventually tossing it in the trash like the different pokemon ideas I said above.

What does it matter when it releases? We know we won't get a new game after USUM until Gen 8, whether that be 2018 or 2019. We know that after that, we'll likely get Sinnoh or Kanto remakes (hopefully Sinnoh), whether that be the year after or the year after that.
