Best VR Attendant
Looks like I was wrong, it's done torrenting and everything works fine.
Can't wait to go thorugh those 1297 clips to find what I wanted to hear. Thanks anon!
That's bullshit. In P1/2, people could just walk in like it was nothing.
>>Neither but Atlus did because they didn't gel in with the story they wanted to write. They wanted something new and fresh while different to Persona without being completely removed. They succeeded, amazingly so but that just means their decision to cut the fat was correct.
Funny you mention that because even though they "cut their fat" off, they still managed to show you how connected the events of their new game, P3, was to what happened in both P1/2. You could see the consequences of their bet ten years later. Even the implications that were may have been some direct influence.
Though it was successful, I don't like how stubborn Hashino is with the old stuff. At least now. It seemed pretty nice with the references and love the old games got in with P3.
Philemon invited them, Anon. He said "Here are Personas. Git gud."
>I don't really have an opinion on the tone of Persona 4 to P4G. I'm not the kind of guy to buy a console for one game so I haven't played it to fundamentally understand the difference.
Well the base game is the same of course, I was specifically referring to the contrast between the two openings, because it seems emblematic of the sort of direction Persona as a series has been going in.
Comic relief and quirky characters has always been a part of the series, since it is after all a character-focused RPG. But at the same time, if it gets too weighed down by comic relief, that can be a problem.
Like, do we really need a bath scene in every game? Let alone a bath scene where the guys and girls in your group stumble over one another like every other bath scene ever created?
Society is a big part of Persona so socialising is important, but moderation is too.
Did heart-problem anon really kill himself? My waifu still isn't real.
Fight for love!
Yeah Hashino does sorta need to get his shit together. I personally wouldn't mind it if he did.
>Do we need a bath scene in every game?
Depends, I actually enjoyed playing Minato Gear Solid but gameplay aside, probably not. Bath scenes are a meh thing to me. They exist, I don't really care for or against.
I get what you mean about the openings. P4G looks like it's on drugs, P4 just sorta looks slightly amused.
Also, saying that he 'cut the fat off' is a huge understatement. If there was a new director for say, SMT5 and he wrote Lucifer out of the story, it would be a big change from establishments in that series. Hardly 'extraneous', they're really important to the structure of these games' universes.
Autist compares pokemon and Persona
It does look pretty grounded, but the meat of the game could still be just as light-hearted as P4, it's hard to say at this point. The protagonist looks pretty normal and it seems like it'll be the first Persona game in 'Tokyo'.
I just want to see the rest of the main cast first.
Even though I enjoyed the story of P2 the most, I think for the bulk of the audience P3 had a good balance of 'dark' and 'light' moments, bath scenes or no bath scenes.
I'm actually for the inclusion of Philemon and Nyarlathotep since they are absolutely not extraneous. That other anon thinks them as "extraneous."
I just found the connection between P3 and P1/2 to be done very well, even without them blatantly stating.
My ass is still reeling over Ultimax.
>Like, do we really need a bath scene in every game?
JAPAN. So, yes.
At the end of the day, it's just up to what Hashino is willing to include, and everyone has their own view of what direction the series should take.
Realistically though, I just want P5 to be pretty serious. Whether they do a remake and add a bunch more 'events' or date-able characters or whatever I don't really care about, but at least take the main vanilla game seriously.
Basically, watch out for:
-Magician with terrible luck in romance
-Girls who can't cook, clean, or really do anything, but a guy who's excellent at it
-Main party of Magician/Chariot/Priestess/Lovers/Emperor/Empress
-and of course, bath scenes and beach scenes
I'm baffles that people continue to expect meaningful character development in PQ. It's a fucking fan service game for Christ's sake
>I’m not a hardcore Persona fan (I’ve played most of Persona 4 Golden)
I do agree that turn based games are dying off though. For the better too, action games are much more
I'm pretty sure there's no way there could be more robots. Aigis was the last one, Labrys was older, and that Genesis shmuck from PxDN was older too.
I'd like to see a main party of the 'bad' arcanas like Hermit, Fortune, Hanged Man, and Tower. That's another thing that went out the window after P2, at least Baofu got Hanged Man.
At least give us the first Temperance party member.
You also forgot the subtle canon girlfriend of the protagonist. For Makoto it's Yukari and for Yu it's Marie. Oh, there's also the secret tech wiz in the group,A contest involving picking up girls and a catchphrase for the protagonist to say like Yu's "I should leave them be" and Makoto's "I don't care"
Shadow party members don't count.
Dude there are literally 4 characters with the fortune arcana already: Labrys, Shabrys, Naoto and Jun. Five if you include Takaya as a general fortune count.
Hermit, Temperance and Tower are the only arcana that a main party member has not had.
Well, in vanilla P4 it seemed to me like it was probably Yukiko just by order of elimination, but it was definitely harder to pin it down to one person compared to P3.
And forever tainted the entire arcana.
Ulala had a good thing going.
Labrys and Shabrys aren't party members in any game that actually had 'party members', and Jun is from P2, though I'll give you Naoto. And if you're counting Takaya, Jin was Hermit.
My point is that all the examples of party members who were Hanged Man, Death, Devil, Tower, and so on are all from only the first two games. I'd like to see some of those, plus some we haven't had before.
How many social links did you guys max your first run of persona 3?
Im in October and I think I'll only have like 10 at most. I've got magician, strength, chariot, hierophant, and Devil already. Almost done with tower.
