>There are people who seriously think Nintendo would miss out on the opportunity to bring DLC to Smash Bros, one of their biggest, best-selling franchises that has a massive world-wide following and cult full of autists willing to pay any price just to be able to play as characters who are not on the default roster.
>People also believe that Nintendo won't go full-jew and announce New Super Smash Bros. for New 3DS as the definitive handheld Smash that includes all the DLC and updates.
>There are People still think Doc is a Newcomer
>double spacing to make your shitty pasta more noticeable
I agree. If there was going to be DLC it'd be ancillary characters like Dark Pit, Dr. Mario, and Lucina. I don't feel like Nintendo would cut out major characters like IC and Wolf just so they can be sold later on. That's Microsoft and Sony level bullshit.
>Or do we pretend 4chan memes are now Reddit memes because people got sick of them here?
Yes, actually. 4chan as a collective does this weird thing where they come up with a meme, bask in it until it inevitably spreads outward, and as soon as the rest of the internet starts using it, absolutely despise it.
So if you've ever called trollface or rage comics reddit memes, congratulations, you're an actual meme hipster.
>There are people still legitimately retarded enough to believe Nintendo would NEVER try to get free cash from worshiping retards through character DLC
I bet the same people also think Nintendo isn't the same as those "evil corporations" and "they're in for the gamers, they wouldn't do this"!
Stage counterpicks are much the same, except that the losing player chooses the stage to be played on instead. For example, in Melee, a Fox player may counterpick Pokémon Stadium against various characters, as the stage is large enough for said character to laser camp and exploit fast movement options, and the low ceiling on the stage greatly benefits Fox's vertical finishers. Alternatively, a Marth player may counterpick Final Destination against fastfallers, as the lack of platforms for the enemy to escape pressure allows Marth to chain grab or tech chase them without fail. Stage counterpicks are often regulated by Dave's stupid rule.
Music you want in the Wii U version.
I think there won't be DLC, but I'm still reporting anyway! Don't let bad people get away with ruining nice places, lend a hand!
>get sent to the upper corner by Electroshock
>Pit2 tries to follow up with an arrow
>watch him struggle to notch an arrow as he can only fire in two directions
Keitaro is one of the worst Smash players I've ever seen, and I love watching him get thrashed
Well, first, we need a place where people can register. Maybe a Google Doc or something, I'm not sure what would be best. Then we just need someone who can stream it. After that, it's up to the individual players to get together and organize themselves, be on time, etc. We might want to set up a temporary IRC channel for the tournament, so we can more easily figure out what time and date would be best the registrants and remind people when their match is coming up.
And we need to disqualify people if they don't show up within 30 minutes or so of their assigned match time. In-person tournaments already have problems with people being late, I can't imagine how bad an online tournament would get.
Oh wow I can't fucking read,
So how do you beat shiek? I lose evrytiem.
>roll dodging: the game
This fucking terrible Megaman player now god damn. At least we get to see the ridiculous dtilt to uptilt combo from Megaman. Does like 38% damage. If it chained at kill% for uptilt, which is like 90%, Megaman would be top tier for sure.
>chaining knees as the Cap into down-air
Stop playing online where latency changes the game.
Just get better. Sheik is just easy and straightforward to play. Once you're on the same level you won't be asking the question. Just be really good at the fundamentals.
>No more taunt parties
Not even in For Fun, man fuck you Nintendo.
Link is pretty based, shame the brawlers will win the tournament because of how damn popular Little Mac is.
I did play against a japanese player who only played Little Mac. So I played Link and crushed him 10+ times before he finally left
Shame none of that counted at all since I had already contributed for the day
Honestly, I think finding a streamer will be the biggest issue. There's enough people in the general who'd be interested and able to play, but not everyone can host and stream all the matches.
It was the only good part about Brawl's online, what's wrong with it? Doesn't even have to be in For Glory.
Because I feel like the enemy representation in Smash Run is a bit off balance and not quite fair, I felt like making my own compilation of enemies I felt would be ideal to represent certain franchises as Smash Run enemies in, well, Smash Run.
Mind you though, I put in several enemies from the more popular Nintendo franchises since I felt like those are the ones who could deserve more enemies because of how recognizeable a lot of the enemies are, and simply because those franchises are extremely popular.
Here's my take on Mario enemies I feel would work well in Smash Run to represent the Mario series. Any suggestions or ideas?
Watching people play your main horribly is fucking awful.
Get vertical with megaman and spam his metal blade from above. It's his best and most spammable projectile and you can fire it in 8 different directions, so there's no reason to not be doing it from the air where you can choose to follow up with Megaman's drastically superior aerials.
If I didn't score those kills, I would've gone to Sudden Death with Wario.
I would likely have lost
Countdown/third party host so neither side can benefit from lag
>yfw Jeremy Jahns is a "MUH SLOTS"fag
Holy shit, I literally cannot into Robin. I went against a ZSS four times and a Bowser once and both times I got bodied. The only things that ever did anything were Thoron and my dash attack.
>False f-throwing as Palutena
WHY DID YOU CROP OUT ASHLEY'S SMELLY LEWD BARE FEET?
arcfire to stop approaches and possibly chain into smashes/aerials
back throw into charging thunder
forward throw into firing thunder
if you smash aerials you can use the levin sword instead of the bronze one, which gives you a lot more oomph (or you can use a ground smash before using an aerial to equip your levin beforehand)
you know when I sit back and watch the game it just makes me feel sick how stupidly small his sword is
why the hell is Sakurai incapable of just nerfing a character
why did he have to rape Marth all the way to the bottom
Literally the first thing on reverse google image search
Seriously though, having a foot fetish is suffering. I'm here for you, anon.
getting tippers just isn't viable anymore
he has no range with which to space at all
he has the shortest range of all swordsmen, and even plenty of non-sword character have larger attack ranges than him
Why did they think it was a good idea to nerf Olimar further, even after taking away half of his fucking pikmin?
Not to mention these fucking desynchs where the pikmin randomly run away from you.
The songs are the only thing good about this show and movie.
>if you smash aerials you can use the levin sword instead of the bronze one, which gives you a lot more oomph (or you can use a ground smash before using an aerial to equip your levin beforehand)
Neat, I didn't know that. Do your weapon uses go down if they miss the enemy?
Gordo pressure, fastfall nair back to stage, recover low, learn how to read for his fsmash, never use his down b unless you broke someone's shield, use upward Gordos when someone's off stage to create an edgeguarding wall, stick Gordos to the side of the stage if you knock someone off far enough, and use ftilt a hell of a lot.
That's about all I can think of atm.
Have an of you actually made it to the top? What's there?
>enemy is ZSS
>getting my shit absolutely wrecked
>flip the wifi switch
>BECAUSE OF YOUR DISCONNECT YOU CANNOT PLAY ONLINE FOR 10 MINUTES
u fooking wat m8
DAMMIT!!! This guy made Olimar look like shit! I'm pissed.
>mfw trying to fight ZSS as DDD
One particular one kept using charge B into dash attack. I had no answer but a well timed grab but zss moves way too fast out of her dash attack. I cant even get an A spam auto combo. Charge shots also reflect DDD's projectile so I can't really sapce at neutral.
I just chalk up ZSS/Mac/shiek as a loss unless I get a good read and punish with a forward smash.
>for glory mode
>run into sheik
>spend an hour fighting this dude
>always come out on top, though it's always down to the wire

>figure my winning streak is over
>he taunts, then throws himself off the ledge
>he evened it out to be honorable
>we walk to opposite sides of the stage
>4 minute long duel to the death
>mfw i win
Man, I would really love to hear the logic behind this shit. What does that move do that makes the laser hit all the other players? Very weird.
If anything it should be drawing the laser to the person using the move, not specifically hitting everyone else.
Anyone else uncomfortable playing against strangers?
>Ness's homerun bat still doesn't use the SMAAAASH!! sound effect when fully charged
>consistently pulling off shorthops or fast falls

Just kill me now
I don't understand why so many people here despise Melee and PM because they're popular with competitive players, but want Smash 4.. to be popular with competitive players. It goes to the point of outright shitposting: Melee has a tournament with 50k viewers? D-dead game! A match in Smash 4 doesn't time out? HATERS BTFO, SMASH 4 IS SAVED
Are you all this insecure? And if so, why? You shouldn't have such a vested interest in seeing Smash 4 succeed, you're just a consumer.
Alright. What would you say about my choice for Kid Icarus enemies? I cut down on them since I felt that the series doesn't need a flood of enemies.
>started playing two days ago
>these mains aren't final
>give me tips
>help with jigglypuff, rob, bowser jr
>don't shit on me too hard because I'm shit at this game
>inb4 le samus bikini meme
I think that's because Ness is supposed to represent Earthbound and its other party members as a whole, not just his abilities as a character. Same thing with Lucas and Mother 3.
Customs wont be legal for the majority of the tournaments. It clearly is meant for fun and friendly play like the Mii fighter and equipment.
There's no way to get every custom for every character on ever 3DS / Wii U used and the setup time will just not be allowed.
you still need to input direction on the pad
You're just bad at the game and not using all of your characters' moves if it's not interfering with anything you're doing. This is fact, not me trying to knock you down a peg. If you want to improve, or just get the full game experience, turn it off. PAST games you could prefer to use tapjump. On 3DS it's mandatory to turn off unless you're not playing right.
I'd remove the Flage as well, but keep the Souflee. Though it's a pain to catch, I liked how they implemented its mechanic from KIU: rare to find and hard to catch, but great rewards if you get it. Remove the Mimicutie, it's just too annoying and doesn't give much for its trouble. Replace with Pandora's Box, which will simply shoot at you a few times but won't be deadly.
Something to consider: while the Clubberskull is known for being the toughest monster, and the Eggplant Wizard is iconic, why not have the Tempura Wizard? It combines both ferocity and shapeshifting. Once it turns you into tempura shrimp, it will run after you and OHKO you with one bite. To make it even more dangerous than the Clubberskull, rather than being knocked away really far, you'll just die right then and there. Perhaps to mitigate it, the tempura spells can be reflected back at it. Either way, it'd be interesting.
>Palutena in Smash Run
>customized for max speed
>get every speed buff I can
>get the race
Ehh, I imagine it would be sharp enough to go through people, but those spikes and corners wouldn't do shit to a thick piece of leather, let alone actual armor.
Oh fantasy games, so silly. If you're at the point where you can make a piece of metal shoot lightning, just make it look like a fucking gun. Or make it look like a useless ornament or something.
>people still denying equipments and custom moves aren't the future of this game
>Lightweight Palutena with like 600 speed and jump
HIGHER THAN THE SUN
>same setup as before, max speed and no def/atk
>get put in the fight
>mfw getting hit by a jab
>Hit Jigglypuff while she uses sing
>Fall asleep anyway
>Punished with rest
people are overeacting how hard is to get these things, make a character just for grinding equipments and custom moves you can get flat stats and cool effects with one day of grinding with a good build.
>Marth and Lucina are clones
>they both canonically wield the exact same sword
>their only difference is sword properties
Thanks for the tips, guys. It was my first time facing a Greninja player who wasn't shit and I was NOT prepared for such sick hydro pump skills.
>only playing one smash
>not playing all of them (except Brawl)
The hell's wrong with you people?
If you main pokeshit, you should consider literal suicide
Guys I don't know who to main. I suck pretty bad right now, so I want to focus on just one character and get really good before I spread out and get good with some secondaries.
I enjoy playing Ness, but I don't have a lot of success with him. I enjoy Wario a bit, and I have better success with him, but I don't really know what to do with him. I like Robin, Bowser Jr, and Pit as well. King DeDeDe is neat too.
Any thoughts on who I should main? And maybe some tips on that character?
>have to avoid him after he respawns and is still invincible
I'm not somebody who thinks Bowser is particularly OP, because he isn't, but trying to avoid him during that time as anything but the most nimble of characters is complete bullshit.
>Robin throws someone off stage but they live
>Stands there and doesn't charge thunder
I hate how fucking defensive this game is. The winning strategy is to sit there and wait for your opponent to attack so you can shield grab. So then you both sit there staring at each other when the match starts.
It fucking sucks.
my greentext was wrong because autocorrect.
I meant that some of them shouldn't be allowed, for example in the local tournaments I've been hosting
in chilethe past week 1-9 hammer and DK mach tornado weren't allowed and things went fine. I always lose in the first round
Why do people think the Miis are OP? I haven't been super destroyed by one yet so I don't see it. Yoshi's customs are bullshit too, I got KO'd by a glance of a butt bomb at ~70%.
changing the hilt doesn't change the blade
it makes literally 0 sense for their swords to have different properties
it makes as much sense as putting Dark Pit in super smash bros
>I enjoy Wario a bit, and I have better success with him, but I don't really know what to do with him.
Use his aerials and tilts, they're his best moves. Chase people off the stage and gimp them, Wario's recovery is great and it only gets better when you include waft recovery. Also, surprise people with chomps because people don't expect it.
I already know how to do the backwards R, but how did you make that backwards b?
Piercing/multihit Pound sometimes allows you to shield poke in the way dair does at times.
If you want to deal with a sidegrade, the jumping Rest can be comboed into with uthrow/pound custom with the most vertical trajectory. It has less KO power, but still decent considering how high you jump, easing KOs despite lower knockback.
That goes for pretty much any character, I think. Finishing someone off at a really high percentage is torture since the odds of them just killing me right back while they're still invincible are crazy high.
This thread is terrible, even by /ssbg/ standards.
>all these fags implying that any Smash can't be competitive, even Brawl
64 is good if your name is Isai, Melee is good if you have great reaction times and have time to hone your tech skill, Brawl is good if you like being campy and defensive, PM is good if you liked Brawl physics but wanted Melee-tier amounts of tech skill and speed, and SSB4 is good if you like a combination of the last 3. SSB4 has a defensive meta, but also rewards offensive play. I don't know why these casual fucks shit up every thread by saying that Melee sucks and is for autists who can't let go of a 13 year old game. I also can't figure out why Melee tourneyfags respond with more shitposting. I don't even know why everyone else hates on PM. Every Smash is good in its own right. Now stop shitposting and play whichever one(s) you like.
why does Falchion, in both of its renditions, look nothing like a falchion?
I know Japanese people are pretty stupid on average, but I mean c'mon.
HEEEY there you are buddy! I was wondering where you went when we were having that nice PM discussion yesterday!
So what do you think about the upcoming alts? Are you as excited as I am to see SNES Falcon in action?
I take it that you hate competitive Pokemon too? Regardless, posting the same thing over and over again has proven that you're just going to post it again without responding to the point I'm making, so I don't know why I'm bothering.
Been maining him since Brawl but always been interested in the Dorf. With 500+ games as Bowser under my belt in FG, I want to get better with another heavy weight.
Seen some sick plays by a few Ganons and a few who proper REKT me, but any advice for an anon looking to get into the Lord of all Evil?
I like lighter characters, but not necessarily super fast. Good air attacks are fun. Also I hate attacks with a lot of lag. I don't really care if they have projectiles or counters, I usually forget to use counters anyways.
Yeah I'm starting to lean towards those two, I think they pretty much have everything I like.
Thanks, I'll do that. I've been enjoying Wario more and more while playing him against bots.
for smashrun I'm using these tips
- Max speed equipment
- Run around looking for chests
- Check the typical spawn points
- Go in any challenge doors along the way. If it's a large crystal or a challenge I know I can't do well (hard kill enemies, for example), then immediately suicide.
- Stomp on any giant goombas along the way, and kill any rototurrets - they will usually drop something
Ganondorf has no safe move. Everything can be punished. Ganondorf has no solution to projectiles other than shield.
So use the mindgames and read your opponent like a picture book and master powershielding and KO fuckers in 4 moves.
>Little Macs in For Glory
"HAH HIP! HAH HIP! HAH HIP!"
He has more than just neutral B, ya know
Why are scrubs so fucking terrible at this game?
