People do, mostly people that aren't super into videogames as a whole. It's like a really long CG action movie with minimal interactivity so it's really good value for price as a movie and in theory keeps you from falling asleep, even if it's also actually a pretty shit movie. Basically if you actually try thinking about it as a game you're thinking about it all wrong. But yes, if you enjoy games but don't enjoy movies or even just don't enjoy shitty action flicks, you won't like Uncharted at all and it will be torturous to play. You might at least get some enjoyment out of it if you're a graphicsfag but imo it's aesthetically trash which makes the technical aspect less interesting.

Which is why people are dubious about shit like the grappling hook and WHOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOAAAA camera swoops when you use it in MHW, which look JUST LIKE the techniques the fourth-rate wannabe cinematographers that make games like Uncharted use to create a sense of fake tension. We're basically one degree removed at this point from having bass drops every time a monster uses an attack. Oh wait. That's exactly what Atlal-Ka's Throne does.

Decided to finally get into Monster Hunter, and I've been enjoying it quite a bit thus far even if I'm not great at it.
I started with Freedom Unite after looking into some recommendations, but a few friends suggested that Portable 3rd would be better. Although I'm new, I was able to appreciate the quality of life changes in MHP3, and it immediately made for a better experience in my opinion. Although part of that might have been thanks to the training school in MHFU.

I've gotten to the point in the game where new gear is a necessity. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot of information on Portable 3rd specifically, I imagine because it was never officially localized.
Is there some database I can use to make gathering materials a bit easier? I've found the link to Ping's databases in the OP, but MHP3 isn't listed.

If 4U, you have 2 options. If the monster isn't continuing its attack then you can go into AED. If not, then you maintain the GP until you can find an opening.

What's wrong with adept cb? You get adept guard, easy charging of the shield and you can safely swoop around in axe mode. It's the best way to play it.

Is it already confirmed two types of armors are gone?
I mean, we watched some gameplays and see that armor doesn't change when you are using a blademaster weapons and switch to a gunner weapon. But if I recall, in previous MH some armors are the same for blademaster and gunner. For example, Arzuros, Lagomib and Volvidon.

There's a big difference in what can be done on 3DS and PS4. They have to develop new code for every monster, all the reactions for the new stuff, the entirely new models. The work that'll go into the PS4 models alone have probably taken more time than the entire roster of XX combined. I'll be surprised if we get more than 10 monsters that aren't palette swaps with a few different moves. We could always get more in DLC, but the speed at which MHW is coming out doesn't give me a lot of confidence that there'll be a lot of monsters to hunt.
