It's great. From what I've heard the all age versions aren't that good as the lewd scenes in Grisaia are important to the story as well. Still haven't read the first one to the end though, the only one missing is the loli ending but eh... And there's a ton of sequels as well, kinda feel bad for using a character from the franchise when I haven't read everything but I liked her story and antics so much.

What's the most useful skills for a Valkyrie? Passives are great and the damaging reducing techs also seem good as fuck but what about the damaging skills?
>>
>>187396514
Forgot to point out that I'm playing Dungeon Travelers 2.
>>
imagine if we were all dead
>>
>>187396514
There are a lot of good defensives to cover which you should use depending on whatever you're having the most trouble with. Material/Spell guard for encounter-wide aoe, taunt/parry/defender/cover for regular attacks, passives for personal regen or protecting the backline, ect. Moon curtain is worth considering putting a value point into if you need that particular buff, it has a cast time which is very long for a valkyrie, but can be cast instantly before going into a boss fight.

The damaging skills drop off in damage later in postgame, as you probably won't be building much damage on their gear, or even have the time to use damaging skills at all. But before that point, cross slash and daedalus strike are both extremely good for damage before level 50 or so. Daedalus in particular is very good for waveclear. Don't be afraid to put points in them since you can reallocate skill points at levels 30, 50 and 90.

Some skills like shield bash and raging smash are just utter trash.
>>
>>187397054
Maybe we are all dead insade
>>
>>187397216
My Melvy already has Moon Curtain so I can save some SP with that. The passives are all great so I'm going to dump one level on each at least.

>But before that point, cross slash and daedalus strike are both extremely good for damage before level 50 or so
I see. Guess I'll put points on both and compare how useful they are.

>Some skills like shield bash and raging smash are just utter trash.
Shield bash seemed pretty shitty but my Alisia is still using Raging Smash in her level 40s. It's pretty useful against trash mobs if I don't want to spend my MP on Megaton Press.

Anyway, thanks anon.
>>
>>187397735
I'll always be happy to provide advice if you have any more questions
Raging smash just has worse scaling than cross slash even without the bonus against unholy creatures so I'd suggest shifting away from it. Daedelus is also fairly expensive so you might need auto-refresh to support it if you use it.
>>
>>187398119
Yeah, I already boosted Auto-refresh to level 2 since I assumed it would be a heavy MP burner. For now I'll use Cross Slash and Daedalus on level 1 and see which one I should keep.
By the way, what's the best character for Valkyrie? I'm gonna go with Yae since Grishna's unique seemed more Dark Lord-focused but Sasara has that sweet Shield Def bonus skill.
>>
>>187398484
It doesn't really matter too much who you use, I'd personally recommend who you like the most and think is the cutest.

Objectively though, Yae would probably be the best because two turns of protective abilities can be a real benefit in an oppressive boss fight where you might otherwise fall behind. Probably better than Sasara since Yae's extra turn can be used to fit any situation. Though if you ever find yourself needing an offensive dispeller,
you might want to use samurai Yae for that instead, since she'll sometimes give you a second chance if it fails. I used Alisia even though her passive is worthless for a tank, just because she's so damn cute. I am helpless to resist cute things.
>>
>>187399032
Alisia is already my Dark Lord though. And honestly Yae > Grishna in terms of cuteness so I went with her and only after that did I read her unique skill.

Not that it matters much, like you said. The unique skills, unless they're passives, fire off so rarely it's hardly game changing. Except Monica's. Her counter activates so often that it's actually insulting to the rest of the characters.

I feel like I cheated on this one because it wanted me to have the healing bottle in the end and I used Uraras skill to make everyone sleep on other run and take it when everyone was sleeping. Plus Urara evades most of those turtles shots, though they only had one shot with the route I went. There's probably a way to do this without getting in the harms way, kinda feel they shouldn't give me this gold medal when I pull things like this.
>>

I've been using since I got her and I don't have much to complain about her. Her Counter is great since it manages to kill enemies pretty easily in the beginning and if you're lucky get a Critical+Murder. Her damage output falls off pretty quickly in her lvl20s but after I got her to Treasure Hunter she's a great utility character and her Pursuit Stab deals considerable damage.

Yeaah, I think I cheated on the last one too much with Uraras evasive skills. Though I think I had the right idea at some point: I made those spellbooks into staff charging items, charged double speed staff and bounced it into myself to be faster, but I don't know what I was supposed to do after that. Just evaded the every shot from the right side enemies.

Oh well, at least I opened the gallery more after those trials. I had most fun with the mirror enemy and bunch of lancer ball enemies. Something about bouncing the projectile from enemy to yourself is very fun.

>>187412238

>>
>>187412238
Depends how much money you want to spend. Amazon sells Vita TVs new still for around $50 to $60. However i can't recall if they're just the systems and not the bundled ones. If they're just the system, they won't come with a controller or memory card. Dualshock 3 controllers are tough to come by (unless you buy used. Purchasing new ones on Amazon has a chance to net you a brand new ones, but the majority sold are chinese knock-offs that work for a few days then shit themselves. Thankfully you can use Dualshock 4) but with CFW you won't need memory cards

>Yeaah, I think I cheated on the last one too much with Uraras evasive skills.
Yeah, Urara breaks quite a few of those puzzle dungeons, but I like that the game encourages a bit of out-of-the-box problem solving, haha. It does make a good argument for a future title designating specific puzzle dungeons for each respective character.

IIRC, that dungeon was supposed to have you use the book that reveals all hidden traps, lure all the enemies into the room at the bottom with the enemy magnet book, and then step on the explosion trap a bunch of times. Or something like that.

>I made those spellbooks into staff charging items, charged double speed staff and bounced it into myself to be faster, but I don't know what I was supposed to do after that. Just evaded the every shot from the right side enemies.
That's actually how you're supposed to solve that one, haha.

Ora, Seiji, Rin, Jehuty ones are pretty decent, but shadow a.i. isn't always good at maximizing the damage 100%, especially not on weapons like Gauntlets made for flurry builds.

If you are holding back on co-oping because you are afraid of losing a certain shadow build, you can just let us know, the overwriting can be disabled.

How so?
The artificial scarcity do nothing but hurt the income of the indie developers.
The lack of a pre-order system does nothing but hurt the income of the indie developers.

And yet you have these lying sleazebags trying to convince us the indie developers put a limit on their income themselves.

How much are they paying you for this bullshit?

>>
LRG are fucking faggots. VA11 HALL-A will be digital as well right? I'll make it a point to get it that way.
>>
>>187452046
You guys are literally throwing shit fits over LRG not doing what you would do in their situation. It has nothing to do about the morality of their choices or authenticity of their responses -- going "but why are they limited!?" when they've stated since the start of their service that they wished to have their products be collectors items.
The lack of pre-order system is a consequence over a bad deal that hurt the consumers that is only now starting to resurface. Thinking doing a guaranteed 4000 unit sales as "hurting indie devs" is also significantly retarded considering how they're not only getting a significant amount of sales, but most likely a greater portion of money than if they just purchased digitally.
>>
>>187452459
>will be digital as well right?
of course
>>
>>187452402
Indie developers are individuals. What can they do against those sleazebags?

>how ?
>how ?
They deny additional sales. Denial of additional sales hurts the indie developers. How dumb are yo, moron?

Meanwhile the LRG cunts scalp their own games on ebay. They are not hurt.
>>
>>187451831
The fact that another publisher is publishing the game means that LRG isn't outright blocking other companies from releasing physicals like you were implying.
PQube also never promised a Vita physical of Rabi-Ribi, the only website to report that was Dualshockers, and the press release from back in May that Dualshockers used as their source for that info only mentioned what platforms it'd be available on, never physicals.
>>
>>187452459
One more spot for me then. I never ordered from LRG but a few people pissing their pants over nothing isn't going to convince me not to start if they release a game I want.

Anyway, back to the original topic, I assume Rabi-Ribi isn't getting physical in Europe because they can't sell it for full Vita MSRP and the retailer cuts plus cost of making the Vita cartridge are too high.

Nah. Nisa does that too. They don't print additional copies, and yet they still allow pre-orders.

The difference here is that NISA localizes games based on how they'll sell. If they don't think something will sell enough then they won't localize it in the first place. And they also reprint if there's demand (boy I wish LRG would do that).

But I don't see that much of a problem with LRG using their current model on the more obscure games and doing preorders for the higher profile ones. At the very least, it's way better than what they've been giving us, and doesn't incur as much risk (on the part of both LRG and the devs).

That's like saying "if they disable the pre-order to benefit the scalpers that's up to them".
So you threw the towel in the ring and admit LRG are scalper scumbags?

Yup. I thought those were pretty good context clues to hint a player towards the solution.

I was surprised they didn't do that, too.

I actually totally forgot about that, but that is pretty on-the-nose for them to have Urara for that trophy, haha.

I like how you conveniently ignored my question earlier about actually finding signs that there's systemized (read: not individual) scalping going on.

And wouldn't LRG have to compete against individual scalpers anyway? Either way, they'd end up sitting on copies that they have to slowly trickle out, and what if there's not enough demand on reseller sites to sell the copies they reserved? They lose money.
>>
>>187465593
>BTW, their actual model also apply to gamer and scalpers
You just ignored the entire chain of our conversation. I'll explain it again.
When you sell out your pre-order on the first day, you can add another print. That one benefits the gamers, less so the scalpers.

The huge sign is the lack of pre-order, and refusal up print extra when pre-order sells out on the first day.

If you have your pre-order batch sold out on day 1 and you refuse extra prints, it's pretty damning evidence you're on the side of the scalper.
And not on the side of the developer or the gamers.
>>
>>187466481
Uh, are you saying they're lying about the developer setting the limit? All of the developers would know they're lying, and given how loose-lipped indies can be somebody would have spilled it by now.

>>187466895
It would be nice if they printed more, yes. But that goes against their business model, and might turn away the people that buy solely for the rarity. I'm not saying that this is the best outcome for players or that it doesn't help scalpers. But saying they themselves are the scalpers is a massive stretch.
>>
>>187466895
>If you have your pre-order batch sold out on day 1 and you refuse extra prints
if you inflate the numbers of copies of the game it becomes less rare, people will lose interest in it and they won't buy it, you will lose money and that is not a good business

They're not? If they thought they could sell more, they'd set a higher limit. Sometimes those projections are way off, and that's unfortunate.

Wrong. 2000 copies + an addition 50% more if the 2000 copies sell out in day 1 is still rare and wouldn't break their business model.

>If they thought they could sell more, they'd set a higher limit
They can set the limit to 1 million. And let LRG decide the print number still.

there is no reason for LRG to blame the print number on the developers other than being cunts who shrug off responsibility for their own decisions.

Easy. It that set number sells out on day one of pre-order, you know how much more you can inflate the thing.

I wouldn't be possible. Because my argument is completely logical.

If developers let LRG print anywhere from 1- to infinite, at their own discretion, the developers would earn more money.
Putting a limit on additional potential income is retarded.
>>
>>187469837
Well, while we're talking "possible", 1 to infinite isn't possible, because there's a minimum order quantity when producing physical games. That's also why they can't just arbitrarily add on copies when they produce the runs before selling them.

Could they potentially do open preorders and then produce to that? Sure, we're seeing that now with Ys. But for lower profile titles they can't guarantee they'll hit those minimum order quantities, without the added incentive of the game having a specified amount of rarity to draw people in.
>>
>>187470339
>1 to infinite isn't possible,
Wrong. It is possible. Permission from developers is one thing, restrictions from Sony is another.
You just have to satisfy both conditions.

Face it, you have no explanation for this retardation.

It's simply LRG being assholes and pinning the print quantity blame on someone else.

>>

How?
The developer isn't the one who pays for the print. LRG is.

What is this force of evil that is stopping them?
>>
>>187471843
LRG does take care of up-front costs, but I have to assume the developer has to take some sort of responsibility if their projected amount doesn't sell through.
>>
>>187472317
>but I have to assume the developer has to take some sort of responsibility
I don't think that's a fair assumption.
Why do you suspect this?

It's LRG's money. Developers has NO say in how much LRG should invest.

Is it so damn hard for you to admit I might be onto something here?
>>
>>187472457
>Developers has NO say in how much LRG should invest.

Except it's their game, and LRG gives them a say. End of story.
>>
>>187472557
I can see why it would be smart of the developer to agree on a minimum order. But not a maximum order.

Maximum limits doesn't benefit the developer.
Maximum limit benefits the scalpers.
>>
>>187472656
Except you shouldn't be thinking in terms of minimums and maximums, but in terms of "this is how much we're going to sell" (again, with the current fixed unit policy). How would LRG know to make an extra investment on top of what the developer, who created the game and knows its digital sales, says it should?
>>
>>187472940
>but in terms of "this is how much we're going to sell"
Why?

Who is forcing the developer and LRG into this?
It would benefit the developer more to simply agree on a minimum print.
>>
>>187473036

With the current way LRG is run, the responsibility is on the developer for how many units are printed. This should be easy to see.

Why is a random indie developer controlling how much LRG should invest into a print?

Again, I'm all for the option of preorders and increasing runs according to demand, but that's irrelevant to the discussion of their current practice of printing a fixed number of copies.

>And you are afraid of giving ground and implying LRG are on the scalper's side
I really don't care, but your argument that they're scalping their own games is absurd.
>>
>>187473919
>How exactly, before the run starts, should LRG know to increase the number of copies?
They don't have to know. they can just follow the minimum set by the developer.
Understand?

The developer may have a clue: 2000 copies, so developer writes into contract Minimum print 2000, suggested print 2000
So it would be reasonable for LRG to make a 2000 copy print. And more if they deem it fitting.
Is your brain with me so far?

This will benefit the developer more.
This will benefit LRG more.
This will hurt the Scalpers. but LRG wouldn't care...unless they are on the scalpers' side.

>I really don't care
Oh yes you do care.
It's the reason why you have been unable to admit a minimum limit is more beneficial the the developer.

And it will benefit the developer when/if LRG decides to print extra. It's on LRG's discretion.

>By the way, you said something about defence potions a while ago and how they give them out in the second challenge dungeon. What are those?
Not that they are given out, but on the 10th floor, you should have a decent chance of them being available for sale from Yumi's dungeon shop if you wanted some extra defense to kill those sleeping reapers for the items underneath them. They're just the standard temporary stat (defense, in this case) boosting potions that are relatively common and usually cheap.

>Almost the only potions this dungeon gives is natural water from sacred cave that makes stomach swell a little. I've tried to check stats but nothing changes, but they don't also seem to do anything else when you drink them. Am I missing something?
Yeah, those are just bottles of water. IIRC, they just fill up 1% of your food gauge and that's it, lol.

Ah yeah those. Now I tried and killed three reapers out of 4, they didn't have anything. Well, they give pretty good EXP points and OP, so there's that but not much else.
>>

>Ah yeah those. Now I tried and killed three reapers out of 4, they didn't have anything. Well, they give pretty good EXP points and OP, so there's that but not much else.
Huh, I suppose I was mistaken and got lucky with item drops during those times. Extra EXP and OP is always nice.

Also, I guess all that worry earlier was for nothing, haha. That no underwear run you had last time was pretty rough, so it was natural to be a little worried about getting wiped that time.

I'm guessing you've gotten a better equipment set this run?
>>
>>187480446
>>I'm guessing you've gotten a better equipment set this run?
Yeah, I took 5000 OP from the start so I could buy better equipment from the start. Lets see how far this run will get me. Even if I'm wiped out I'm not too worried, I have to do OP run in normal dungeon soon enough anyway to get some candles as well to do more minigames.

I'll try to kill them at floor 20 as well to see if they drop something cool. Or if I have some good staffs when I try it.
>>
>>187480579
>Yeah, I took 5000 OP from the start so I could buy better equipment from the start. Lets see how far this run will get me.
Nice. I feel that having that stronger start is really going to help offset the RNG from the later shop floors.

>Even if I'm wiped out I'm not too worried, I have to do OP run in normal dungeon soon enough anyway to get some candles as well to do more minigames.
The simplest quick non-broken way to farm OP and those candles is to speedrun a few times through the first dungeon, I think, with Pai or Chichi. That'll probably net you about 1000 OP (from collecting the items) and 1 candle each run, iirc.

That's not the stupidly broken, almost-cheat way to farm OP that I keep hinting at, but it is decent for a quick grind.

Slippery slope. I managed to stop myself from buying more because of the display space, but recently I've noticed I was looking for cabinets and shelves so I can display my vita physicals and more figurines. I'm afraid that once I find one that I like, I'll end up in debt shortly afterwards.
>>
>>187485196
If the vita version is cheaper, then I'll get it day 1.
If not, then it means it'll cost the same as toukiden physical when it was new. I won't pay this much for a digital title that seems to be indie and short on top of it. Not without a demo, at least.
>>
The PC price has always been a slightly too high for my liking despite the overall positive reception, but I've got plenty of games to play.
