Looks like you'll do good but trust me you'll learn the absolute fastest by actually engaging in conversations. The paying is the essential part. Essentially you can't progress too quickly and practices are behind a time wall so you don't burn yourself out. But if you stop practicing then you pile up a bunch of practices that fucks you up.

So you have an incentive to always do your shit on time and because you are paying monthly you want to have your money's worth meaning you'll actually do that shit.

I'm a greedy fuck though so that helped me out as well in wanting to maximize the usage I got out of it since I was paying for it.

Good luck man. Around 3-6 months into Japanese you'll get into a "depression" where you are about to drop it altogether. Almost everyone reaches this point and it's where most people drop it for good. My trick is to limit the time you can learn Japanese a day to 1-2 hours. So I refuse to learn more than 2 hours and I have to dedicate at least 1 hour a day. It results in that I don't get burned out. And If I do 1 hour I usually do it quickly so that I get it over with and start my "real" day like shitposting on /hgg2d/.
